I am sooooooo uncomfortably cold all the time. Sometimes I feel embarassed about it because I literally carry a blanket to the dinner table at times. Its not the normal feeling of being cold though. The best way to describe it is bone chilling, and painful cold. I always dread having to change my clothes at night and in the morning and feel the pain. I consider...

Rachel, I agree with what your saying about the underlying cause for candida, It makes sense that candida could only reak havoc in a suppressed immune system. Ive been gluten-free since the summer, Ive improved quite a bit, I mean... I had MS symptoms, breathing difficulties, and GI issues that have gotton drastically better. I guess I was thinking...

I recently picked up a book I had in my bookshelf called the diet cure. One of the board members had mentioned it being a good one, so I read it again to refresh my knowledge. The book has many questionaires about different symptoms and what could be the cause of them. My scores were super high for the likelyhood of candida. The book gives resources for...

ARCHIVED Hyperventilation And Heart Flip Flops
rutland replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi Kathy Ann. I had the same thing with the heart palps and esp. hyperventilation. I seriously thought I had asthma. I just kept having to take deep breaths because I wasnt getting enough air, my lungs felt like they had to work so hard just to feel oxygenated. When I went gluten-free this past summer that gradually went away. In fact Im so glad I read... -

ARCHIVED Natural Medicine For Healing
rutland replied to rutland's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks so much for all your replies. For the depression, have you tried homeopathy? It depends on the type of symptoms you have but homeopathy is a very safe way to go about things. Unlike St John's wort it wont cause sun sploching and sensitivity. Here's a really quick referance guide to some of the basic homeopathic remeidies Open Original Shared Link... -
Im really big on natural and alternative treatments for healing. Anytime I have an issue with my health I like to explore alternatives before I turn to presciption meds. I guess I wanted to start a threat so that if anyone has had any success with natural medicine, we can all learn and benefit from it. Since this past summer Ive been gluten-free, and...

I think that its great that you and your hubby worked that out and now sleep separately. I worry that Ill hurt my Bfs feelings if I tell him that Id rather sleep alone. But I know that this is what I must do. I can totally relate to what your saying about feeling inhibited to move around for fear youll wake up hubby. Ive been going through the same...

Im not discouraged by your advice at all. It comforts me to know that there are things that we can do to get our sleep. Whether its from a presciption med or not. Sleep is so important that I feel the benefits out weigh the risk. Plus our bodies are always changing esp. if your healing like I am. I have to remind myself that all the struggle is just a transient...

Ive been struggling with this problem for a few months now and Im wondering if anyone else can relate. Whenever I sleep over my BFs house I cant seem to fall asleep. Im so used to being in my own bed alone and Im able to fall asleep fairly well when Im by myself, even when Im not feeling well. But when I sleep at my BFs I get so anxious at the thought of...

Hey Monica, hang in there. I know that since Ive been gluten free my body has been going through many changes, like not being able to eat as much as I used to and being soooooooo sensitive to food in general. But I believe this is the bodys way of healing itself from many years intestinal distress that was under our radar. Now that our immune systems is no...

Lately Ive been dealing with chronic indigestion in the form of nausea and the feeling that the food just sits in my stomach and doesnt digest. Out of curiousity I thought that maybe I wasnt producing enough gastic acid so I took a teaspoon of apple cider viniger with my meals and it helped! I had read and heard about the medicinal properties of apple...

It was reccomended to me by a friend to try tylenol pm for insomnia because lately its been a problem for me esp. when I sleep at my boyfriends (Im so used to being in my own bed). I bought some and I have yet to try it. Has anyone found this to be a good sleep aid? I also saw Advil Pm and I was tempted to buy that but Im not certain if its gluten-free...

rutland posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I had read on one of the threads here that channel lipsticks are gluten free. I recently bought one and found when I got home that it is a newer line from channel called Rouge allure. Does anyone know about this? I also have a few colors from Rimmel London that I love and I tried to email the company but could not find a contact on there. -
ARCHIVED Depression/anxiety And Celiac
rutland replied to rutland's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks all, for the advice. For now Im going to try St. John Wort and see how that goes. I have a feeling that my body is just more sensitive right now due to healing. Its been over 2mos. gluten free but I know that it does take time for the body to heal and maybe as I get stronger the anxiety and depression will lift. Its comforting to know that other people... -
I was wondering if having depression and anxiety are related to having celiac. Ive had anxiety and depression most of my life, lately its been pretty bad. I feel very "off" like, having a constant stream of negative chatter running wild in my head, feeling scattered and out of focus, frustration, constant worry, sadness and hopelessness. Ive been gluten...

rutland replied to BeckyW's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Ive tried to find the same thing, but I gave up The only thing to try that I know of is the rice protein that you can make shakes with (which gave me a massive headache) or Hemp protein that you can also make shakes with. I cant say about hemp protein Ive never tried it. Its worth a shot. For a rich tasting shake Ive been drinking the bolthouse... -

Does anyone know if newmans own mild salso is gluten free? Steph -
Lately Ive been eating red meat a few times a week because I thought that it would help boost my iron levels. Everytime I went out the a good steakhouse I would feel nauseous for days. I never connected the nausea to the red meat until last week when I went to sullivans and had their cowboy ribeye medium rare. OMG. I was nauseous and had the chills for 3...

I was wondering if there was any mixed drinks like martinis that could be ordered at the bar that are sure to be gluten free. Im always worried about the juice mixes they have so I never order anything mixed. I guess you can always ask the bartender about what brand of juice they use, but if its at a very busy bar its kind of hard. Does anyone have any...

I was a little nervous eating my one of my favorite food bars that I get from whole foods. The organic food bar its called. These bars are listed to be dairy free, gluten free, and the list goes on. ARCHIVED Red Wine Made Me Sick And I Dont Know Why
rutland replied to rutland's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Actually I do get reactions to yeast. I noticed this from my gluten-free bread that had yeast, I get a reaction. But my yeast free bread I do not. Also I get reactions from dried fruit esp. raisons so I must be reacting from the sulfites and the yeast. One night I went out and had a glass of champain and I felt awful. My throat felt like it swelled up and...
