  1. Hi, Ive read online somewhere that colostrum is a good supplement to take for malabsorbtion and leaky gut issues. I bought some but Im a little wary about trying it because Im afraid Ill get a reaction. Its supposed to help heal the lining of the intestines. Has anyone used this? Ive heard great things. I want to speed my healing time and Im interested...
  2. Im making some soup this morning and I wanted to add a can of crushed tomatoes and then I hesitated because Im not sure about citric acid. It seems to be in all canned foods. Does anyone know about this? Im new to all this label reading and I need clarity. So I decided to omit the canned tomatoes until I know for sure. Also, Im concerned about table salt...
  3. I live in Philly too and Im looking into support groups. There is one in Abington and Langhorne. I live in NE philly in the mayfair section. I found out about support groups by Googling "celiac support groups in Philadelphia" I found some listings. Ill have to look at where I left the contact numbers and get back to you.
  4. Id hate to say it but you could possibly have an allergy or intolerance to rice and corn. When you notice that you have strong cravings for something that can be a sign in and of itself that your allergic. I know from my own experience having major cravings for cheese or bread and indulging and feeling like hell afterwards. Any food that triggers heavy cravings...
  5. Hi Jennifer, I too have not been diagnosed and I know that I probably wont be by doctors since Ive been gluten free for a month and plan on staying on it indefinatly. They really cant diagnose you unless your been on gluten while the tests are being done and who wants to go through that agony. It sounds to me that this is a blessing for you to have a direction...
  6. Since I started gluten free a month ago. Ive been experimenting with omitting and adding certain foods to my diet. What I know to be true for me at the time being is that Im sensitive to lots of things. I guess because theres a lot of inflammation in my intestines. Right now even a salad doesnt digest well. So Im just doing soups. Ive eliminated soy, dairy...
  7. Ive been gluten free for a month and I see some improvments but I keep hoping to wake up one morning and find that I am vibrant again! It just scares me because I will be going to nursing school in the spring and I need to be in good shape. Brain fog, anxiety and poor concentration are some of my issues so Im eager to get well. I havent been officially...
  8. Thanks for the info. Ive read conflicting things about using gluten containing body, bath, and cosmetics and whether they actually affect the celiac. But believe me I will try anything. Can you list some of the products that you use? What about makeup? What is the quickest way to know if a product is gluten free? What brands of vitamins are good? Ive been...
  9. Hi all. Im new to this site and I am so relieved to be amongst people who understand. Ive been dealing with unexplained symptoms for years. Ive been to one doc after another with complaints about debilitating fatique and a general sense of malaise. I was always treated as though I were a hypochondriac. I swear that after a while I started to feel like one...
