  1. Hate to burst everyone's bubble here but if you have Celiac you shouldn't be drinking any of those mainstream beers. You should find the gluten-free free ones mentioned all over these boards. ( Bards Beer - if it comes back, Ramapo Valley Brewery & New Grist). Even if you are not outwardly reacting to the mainstream beers you are still doing damage...
  2. Well, its been awhile since I've been to Great Adventure (this is what we call it in NJ) but I am pretty sure they have picnic areas outside the park. You could bring your own food and do it that way. It probably would be cheaper than eating out. I sure if you check the six flags website they'll let you now if there definitely is a picnic area but I'm about...
  3. I found putting a lemon in the Ramapo Valley beer makes it taste better. Try it like that before you dismiss it.
  4. Becky, Were you saying the Whole Foods taqitos were gluten-free or the Delimex ones? Just a little confused. Thanks,
  5. Does anyone know if Whole Kitchen Taquitos are gluten-free? The only ingredient that is suspicious is chicken broth. I emailed Whole Foods are have not received a reply.
  6. I noticed this as well in the soup aisle at the Whole Foods in Madison, NJ. I think the problem is that they are marking the spot on the shelf as oppossed to marking the actual product. Items could be moved or stocked incorrectly. Just proves we still have to read the labels. It is good that stores are realizing our gluten-free needs but they have to...
  7. Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio has a cold shell fish appertizer that is awesome. Crab legs, mussles, shrimp, oysters. etc. It was very pricey but worth it. Also, should be gluten-free since it is just fish - right?? I ate there prior to my Dx.
  8. "Drum roll please" - how about the prices!!! This coming from a person who has worked in the industry for 17 yrs.
  9. Judy - hope all goes well with your MRI results. Tink - I live in central NJ also. What was the restaurant you have the positive experience at? Thanks
  10. Never tried it but it is actually co-owned by the Knicks GM / HOF'er Isiah Thomas. Guess he runs his popcorn business better than his basketball team. The funny thing is based on the ingredients I can't tell why the two listed as not gluten-free are listed that way. Unless they are being extra careful with the carmel coloring and vinegar. I guess its...
  11. Hello, Tell your sister there are the following stores in her area: Wegmans - Woodbridge, NJ - about 30 minutes from HH, NJ Trader Joe's - Wayne, NJ - about 20 minutes Whole Foods - Edgewater, NJ - Madison, NJ - Milburn, NJ 25 - 40 minutes Also, Shop Rite is carrying gluten-free stuff in their organic / health food dept's. 13. On this topic here are two I got from a friend at work: Kevin's Song - (Sung to the Music of With or Without You by U2) (ASCAP) All rights reserved "And you give your wheat away, And you give your wheat away With or With Au Jus, I can't live, with or with Au Jus " Sung to American Pie by Don McLean (ASCAP) All rights reserved. 14. Hello. Try the Ramapo with a lemon or lime like you would drink a Corona. I makes it taste alot better. Kevin
  15. Hello, This does not address the risk of cc through the slicer but here is the FAQ from the Black Bear Deli meats website: Q: Are Black Bear products gluten free? A: Nearly all Black Bear Meats are gluten free except: Rotisserie Style Chicken, Lite Franks, Lite Beef Franks. All the rest of our products are free of wheat, rye, barley and oat proteins...
  16. Whole Foods Garlic & Sun Dried Tomato bread is the best I know of. However, I am not sure if it has soy.
  17. I cruised on Carnival last year and they were very helpful. I spoke to the Matre D the first night and then each night I would get the next day's menu. I had to pick what I wanted for dinner and order it then so it could be prepared gluten-free. Also, I brought my own bread, muffins, bagel, etc & they toasted them for me. They even offered to cooke...
  18. I went to Bonefish Grill last night in Secaucus, NJ. It was a pretty good experience. They had a good selection of gluten-free meals and the waitress didn't look at me like I had three heads when I told her my meal needed to be gluten-free. She offered to bring me the gluten-free menu and was upset I had a print out. I had printed out my own from the...
  19. Here is an email I received from McDonalds. The funny part here is now they are claiming there was confusion with their hash browns as well. I don't think that was ever thought to be a problem. At least not on these boards. I am just passing along the information. It is everyone's personal choice on eating these products again or not. Hello Kevin...
  20. Vydor, Thanks for the information. There is another post going on "Are they any real people cereal?" that is addressing the Coco Puff / Trix debate. I hope Coco Puffs are gluten-free my kids eat them and now I can - hopefully. Kids haven't been tested yet. They have no symptoms and well be at their next Dr. visits
  21. Are you saying that Trix & Coco Puffs are gluten-free? Did they change the ingredients in some way to make them gluten-free? Please fill us in. Thanks, Kevin
  22. I always thought if you had a medical condition which could be affected by fasting you were obsolved from doing it. Isn't that the reason they but an age limit on it. I think we fall under that category. Again, this is everyone's own personal decision.
  23. There is a Cabbarra's and an Outback in Kissimme, Fl which is very close to Orlando. Also, there is a PF Changes in Orlando. All have gluten-free menu's/ Also, Cheeseburger in Paradise just added a gluten-free menu. I think there are some of those in Fla. Enjoy !!
  24. Best gluten-free bread I've had. Great flavor and stays well frozen like you said. Best used for gluten-free meatball sandwiches. Awesome!!!
  25. What got cut off there? Or what is Twisted V? Is it vanilla ? Because I think I've been drinking that. Thanks, Kevin
