  1. Hi, I recently had to make the same decision. I chose to go forward and have the procedure done. The worst part of it was recovering from the Anesthesia--the acutal process itself was not bad at all, although I had A LOT of anxiety prior to the procedure (now I know it wasn't worth stressing out about--the whole hindsight is 20/20 thing). I have been...
  2. Hi! I was much like you a few years ago--I was emotional, had severe anxiety and was irritable all the time. Furthermore, I had trouble concentrating, was tired all the time, and felt like I was in a cloudy daze. I happen to stumble across a book called the Diet Cure, and it was the first piece of literature I read that helped me make sense of the connection...
  3. I agree with others that artifical sweetners have caused nasty symptoms for me, including muscle cramps, eye pain and bloating. I still crave diet cokes like a crack addict, so there's something mighty potent in them! I would eliminate their use for a few months and see if you feel better. Remember, they're nothing but chemicals, so they don't do a darn...
  4. Just five years ago I could have written the exact same posting you did. I had EXACTLY the same symptoms. After reading this book "The Diet Cure" I realized that wheat is extremely had for most to digest, and, although it took me two years to weed it out entirely, it was the best decision I ever made. Gas . .. . gone. Stomach cramps .. .. gone. D when something...
  5. It's so great that you took your health into your own hands . .and look, you got your answers. Good for you. I hope for your swift recovery!
  6. Hi, I would recommend that you take acidophilus a couple times per day, if you're not allergic to dairy. My doctor recommended it to me to help repair my intestinal track (specifically to increase intestinal flora, which over time may help with HB). My doc recommends the cheapest ones Trader Joes sales. If you don't have a Trader Joes near you, just...
  7. Hi, As for the anxiety issues, I highly recommend reading, "The Diet Cure" by Julia Ross. I also suffered from severe anxiety, as did most females in my family, but this book help to curb it tremendously. Also, I recently had a biopsy done, and the worst part of it was the anticipation of the procedure. For the procedure itself I went in and out of sleeping...
  8. Hi, I was in your shoes a short while ago, and had a hard time (physical withdrawels even!) giving up some foods, but now I'm so happy to be gluten and dairy free! You would benefit greatly from reading the book "The Diet Cure" by Julia Ross. She suggests supplements to help with cravings, and also provide a whole host of information to food allergies...
  9. Thank you--I'm so grateful for your insight. And yes, I did try her amino acid therapy when I eliminated sugar from my diet. It helped so much with the cravings . . . a true life saver! Thanks again!! This is fascinating information--thanks for sharing!
  10. Thank you so much! I will definitely check out the book you mentioned, and I appreciate your guidance!
  11. Hi! A few years ago I came across a book that forever changes my life: “The Diet Cure,” by Julia Ross (I think this should be required reading for everyone!!!). At that time, I was irritable, bloated, had constant D, and suffered by bouts of severe anxiety. Julia Ross recommends that no one should be eating wheat, because it’s just too hard to digest. Afte...
  12. Hi, I suggest reading the book "Diet Cure" by Julia Ross (I think). This book changed my life. Best of luck!
  13. Dear NoGluGirl-- I'm so happy to hear that I'm not the only one. Thank you so much for your reply. I've also feared that I'm having gallbladder problems (since gallbladder disease is prevelant in my family). After having yours removed, did the bruising sensation go away, or do you find that the sensation is related directly to wheat/gluten consumption...
  14. I'm just learning about Celiac disease after year of painful digestive issues (although no serious diseases). Occassionally (about two-three times per week) I get an intense pain in my upper abdomin, like someone kicked me over and over--almost a bruised feeling. This happens almost immed. after I eat. I eliminated wheat from my diet about 1.5 years ago,...
