ARCHIVED I Just Got Back From Getting My Hair Done!
Mtndog replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Elye- You freaking killed me with this one. I COULD NOT stop laughing in the computer lab at school- so bad that I had to explain frisking the wookie to someone else who thought it was just as funny. By the time I walked into my third class, I was almost in hysterics. I ended up TELLING them about frisking the wookie and they LOVED it. One of them is going... -

Mtndog replied to frenchiemama's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
i'd say, based on what I've heard, Finland, Norway and Sweden (and yes- I REALLY want to go there!). NYC was GREAT! I also had NO problems at all in Turks and Caicos. Royal West Indies Resort. Beautiful Beach- French chef, lots of places where gluten free was NO problem. Ahhhh...... -
ARCHIVED What Are Your Favorite Naturally Gluten Free Foods?
Mtndog posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I remember when I first started on the diet, I subsisted on Skippy peanut butter and Pamela's cookies. Wow! So I thought it might help people getting started on the diet to list your favorite foods that are naturally gluten free. Mine would be POTATOES....fry 'em, 'boil 'em, roast 'em with garlic and rosemary, mash 'em. Yum! And chicken. Could live... -

Kassianne- Thanks for clarifying. I was jsut wondering what you meant by you get paid to quackbust. Like you said, at least you know who you are at the end of the day. I'm glad you weren't trying to start a fight but I'm sure you realize, as you have been misunderstood by others, that your post was pretty off-putting. But everyone deserves a second chance... -

Laura- Glad you got "fully looked over" with the CT scant. At least it will rule things out even if it shows nothing. I had one too (along with tests for everything in the book- but at least now I know I have no hepatitis,HIV or anything else). Julie- I did alllergy testing and was allergic to nothing. NOTHING? NOT EVEN MOLD which clearly makes me... -

No no no don't go away! There are so many people who DO care here! The only person annoyed by a newbie may have been a veteran celiac, but not someone who was on this board very long. Forget that post! Your comments based on experience are what matters! What works for one person may make another person violently ill. Budew- I swear to you... -

Mtndog replied to Lisa's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I was wondering if you could clarify some of this for us, except the sunshine enema- that was pretty clear. No one was looking for that when this thread began. It was a call to VETERAN CELIACS not just veteran board members to help people who are newly diagnosed. therefore, I would say you are a veteran. not a newbie in the sense of being diagnosed. ... -

Well, I just meant song as in the way Emma (one of my favorite actresses) recited it in Much Ado Aabout Nothing. I have the soundtrack to the movie and it's got music behind her words so it sounds more like a song. Such a great movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The wacky knitting is the best.
