  1. Knowing what I know about both, I'd MUCH rather have celiac than mercury poisoning! I'm curious as to why you came to this site if you were convinced it was mercury in the first place- don't take that offensively, I sincerely am curious. I agree with this and what Rinne said- peel away at the layers and DO NOT give up!
  2. Hello Psillies- Just wanted to poop in and say hello. I've been snockered by the 12 day cold that's going around here. Kurt had it- started before New Year's and he just shook it. Blew me nose right off me face today-look rather phunny but what can you do? Lots of sleeping these last few days (yawnemoticon). Sudafed, sleeping, kleenex, Tudors. Not necessarily...
  3. Dylan- We are all concerned about you. PLEASE tell your doctor you are feeling suicidal. Klonopin and anti-depressants can cause more depression- especially as you adjust the doses. I take both and they have been life-savers, but like anything else, it takes time for them to kick in and get the dosage right. Same with the diet. Nothing is going to happen...
  4. I'm so sorry- but even after 4 years I STILL make mistakes. It's OK- we're human and celiac/gluten-free is a HUGE learning curve. Just hope it doesn't make you feel badly.
  5. I've always found this to be a fascinating topic. My grandmother dies of stomach cancer in 1956 and since, many of her children and grandchilden have been diagnosed with celiac so, I think people DID suffer from the disease and likely did not know what it was. But as someone pointed out, glutens underwent a very different fermentation process. Also, geographical...
  6. Go Sophie!!!!!!!!!!! :D Susie- I'm so sorry that your neck is out- OUCH! Hope you feel better soon. LOVE yer avatar  Ba ha ha -YEAH RIGHT! Same here- I wanna seeeeeeeee itttttttt! Pieter- Yer croutons look yummers!!!!! I usually make them out of leftover bread. Remarkably easy and nothing like...
  7. Boris has a wee tabby friend and you had him over fer tea  Angus would have loved that!!!!!!!! Double I bought Angus a new toy- a squeaky beaver and have been cracking meself up all day with beaver jokes
  8. Sounds like you may have had a strange experience My Lyme doctor does muscle testing when I see him (every other month) and then does bloodwork to check the two against each other and it is bizarrely accurate.

    ARCHIVED Eczema

Definitely not oatmeal- there's controversy over whether or not it has the gluten protein BUT most of it is contaminated. Ditto on the Aveeno (bummer- I used to like it!) and check her other products too. Keep us posted
  10. Go Get JETT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh please, oh please oh please!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. That's great! So glad you had a good trip- Cozumel will always have a special place in my heart. Learned to dive there! It will be interesting to see if it was the salt water or something else (diet, weather). For your sake and the horrid itching, hopefully salt baths will do it. Unless you want to move to Cozumel. Sigh.

    ARCHIVED Eczema

Ig I remember correctly, eczema is auto-immune as well. Hmm....mine was so bad before going gluten-free (ear canals that cracked and bled) and has resolved EXCEPT when I get glutened. Could she be getting glutened from any source- hair products, body wash, a food? Glad she's getting some relief from the cream!
  13. Hello Psillies!!!!!!!! Gianknit- Beware The Eye of Smack Emily- yer av x10  Omgawd........ba ha ha ha ha! Nik- Sorry aboput yer bolier AND Al's phinger SHOCKER!!!!!!!!!! But it'll seem So phun!!!!!!!!! Whoa.......weird. Barf- :greengagemoticonwithpotentialtobarfaddedin...
  14. Dyou mean Theralac? I take it as I am on antibiotics for Lyme. If it contains soy, try some of the nthe Intestinew products (available online but also at Whole Foods and health food stores). I've found their products to be excellent!
  15. You sound like me before I went gluten-free. After going gluten-free, remember the pain will not resolve over night but while you are healing keep ruling things out ( like what Takala mentioned). For me, gluten-free wasn't my only problem in terms of pain (I have Lyme- probably had it for 20 years) BUT I do know that going gluten-free saved my butt for...
  16. If it helps, it helps! I was VERY lucky to have a doctor who didn't care what my test results were- she and I both knew I felt better off gluten and she was very supportive. With your daughter that just turned 1, you can introduce it and then stop if it causes problems. If the doctor is not supportive, then find a new one or ignore him or her. You...
  17. Kurt just sent me this: Open Original Shared Link...... Nikkerler- Am sorry about yer boiler :( Melady, methinks if ya got Season 2- go with it, but I liked Season 1 a lot. SERIOUS NEKKIDNESS but a good story (ans it's all true ) Glad we live in a time where, for the most part we get to keep our heads (at least physically!).
  18. Hi BKnutson! I think a lot of people use the term allergy/intolerance loosely around here. Celiac is an autoimmune disorder that makes us intolerant of gluten. I would think twice before doing this treatment only because you don't seem to know much about it. It may work but it may not and I'd hate to see you spend the money if it doesn't work See if...
  19.  That's what I get for being brain-dead, watching the Tudors and posting at the same time. Angus cares not for boobs.
  20. Welcome SysDown!!!!!!!!!!! Kurt loves Abba- kills me- here's this long haired hippy guy who loves Abba  He claims it's because he's Swedish WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked it- getting bev'd hurt; doesn't it? Susie worrying about er boobs Angus does the same thing if I get up too early. ...
  21. I agree with this. I have always said that just because gluten is bad for me, I don't expect the rest of the world to stop for me. Maybe you could pull her aside and talk to her. Tell her you can sense tat she's really frustrated- does she need to talk? Empathy can be pretty powerful. Or she could just be having a hard time with the diet.
  22. Jules- Tickle tickle tickle That will make you psilly! Me hair is about shoulder blade level- gonna let it go till it either doesn't look good or drives me crazy. It's thick so heavy in a pony tail 'n stuff.
  23. Emily- LOVE love love yer av and the screaming!!!!!!!! Jaquuie- Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I read this and thought- huh Pretend Susie's a soldier I just bought the SAME stuff!!!!!!!!!! Me hair feels so soft- I'm growing it out so the longer it gets the more conditioner it needs and this stuff ROCKS!!!!!!!!!...
  24. HAPPY NUDE NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Em- your drinks sounded DIVINE! I am not supposed to drink but I indulge twice a year- me birfday and New Year's Eve. Last night I had two very weak but YUMMY strawberry margaritas. HEAVENLY!!!!!!!!!!! Kurt and I just hung out, ate a good dinner and waited for the ball to drop. Awww........
  25. Oh, poor wee sick psillies- we must send them the Twas to do their house work, serve them chicken soup. JUDY AND AMANDA- FEEL BETTER!!!!!! I HATE HATE HATE HATE the sound of trees being cut down. I feel like I'm dying. No reason- ever since I was little. the sound of trees being cut down went through me sideways. Can't stand the sight...
