  2. Em- Sorry that was such a rough meeting. I can't imagine going through something like that with my child. ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) and 2 glasses of wine coming right up!
  3. This Uncle Ray-er was too good NOT to post on the thread. Yesterday I had a flat tire on the interstate. So I ease my car over to the shoulder of the road, carefully get out of the car and open the trunk. I took out 2 cardboard men, unfolded them and stood them at the rear of my car facing oncoming traffic. They look...
  4. Trader Joe's, in my experience, discriminated between "No gluten ingredients," which means they don't have gluten ingredients but you need to read the processing statement on the back, and gluten-free which hasn't been processed on shared equipment. I've noticed over the last few years their labeling has gotten better. But, like anything else you should...

  12. Just wanted to say welcome to the forum. When I first went gluten-free, I remember thinking that it was the biggest learning curve I'd ever had to adjust to and I was taking doctoral level statistics at the time! You'll get the hang of it. it's 2nd nature to me now As far as cosmetics go, I remember a former member here saying that if you wash your...
  13. Not annoyed at all I know how you feel- it's nice when you figure out a problem and it stinks when you just have to treat symptoms. For me, going gluten-free was figuring out one of the problems. I had lost over 60 pounds! I think it saved my butt and gave me 2+ more years of my body being able to deal with Lyme (and finish my PhD!). Of course...
  14. Have I turned you guys (just typed goys  ) onto Open Original Shared Link yet? It's like The Onion version of Entertainment Tonight. It totally cracks me up and I can get lost in it for hours with headlines like "Angelina' Uterus Benched" and " Suri Cruise kicks the economy's ass, says Forbes.com" They LOVE Amy Winehouse
  15. I dated a guy like that once- lived at the top of Mt Washington for months. Had a pizzle from what I recall. No sling though.
  16. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! First, I must know what a PINE CONE EATER IS???? Well, did the pizzle measure up? Was it a memorable pizzle? That is HEE-LAR-EYUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oreo cookie clearly :D  That's what you get fer saying "Bite Me!"
  17. Also, how long have you been gluten-free? Your system may be damaged and sensitive right now but as you heal, you may be able to eat these. Nightshades are definitely a problem for a lot of people here.
  18. Yeah- when you go to get glasses, you see an optometrist. An opthamologist is a specialist in diseases of the eye. Your problems could be a combination of many things- migraines, thyroid, mercury, anxiety. Bodies are very very complex systems. I have more than one issue- I have celiac but also Lyme, four co-infections, thyroid and depression. Are they...

  23. OMG- he's a baby lamb!!!!!!!!! I'm in love
  24. This is true. It's ALWAYS a chance. But if your reactions last for weeks and are miserable (like they sound) you may want to ask more questions of a "gluten-free" restaurant/menu and then decide if you want to chance it. Also, CALL the restaurant and tell them what happened!! They will never know they are messing up unless someone tells them. We have...
  25. My husband and I are leaving next Saturday for 5 nights in Key west and although I'm sure I can stuff myself silly with grilled seafood, wondering if anyone has been there recently and has suggestions. I'd like to take day trip by boat to snorkel and usually they serve sandwiches etc so I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions about where to get a lunch...
