  1. Yes I figured out I couldn’t have gluten years ago when I was symptomatic and tested positive, but was misinformed and told I couldn’t have celiac but to go gluten free. I was already gluten free. I was never willing to go back on gluten and make myself so sick to have the biopsy especially when the biopsy isn’t 💯. But Now I have to have a procedure anyway a...
  2. Basically because he was going to do the biopsy either way , so I agreed after him bugging me lol (after all this time of refusing) (and I’m already regretting) to do the gluten challenge. But yes he’s already told me even in if the biopsy is negative I still have to live as a celiac for the rest of my life bc he’s certain I’m celiac positive regardl...
  3. Yea the bloating is MISERABLE!! I have gained 7 pounds since starting the gluten challenge 😵‍💫😔 at times I look and feel extremely pregnant! I have measured myself and will sometimes deflate 2 inches overnight 🤦🏼‍♀️I hope this weight gain goes away after I get back to the gluten free lifestyle .. I can’t afford to keep this extra weight Thank you!! ...
  4. I have had a lot of reflux since starting the gluten challenge. My GI gave me some meds to take to hopefully help a little while on the gluten challenge
  5. Thanks for the encouragement, I am honestly ready to give up! It is majorly interfering with my ability to function and work. Feeling off balance and having this sleepiness and the shakes is the worst!! The chest pain just comes and goes , nothing too concerning, I have noticed it before with gluten exposure. I have a cardiologist as well so it’s nothing t...
  6. I have about one more week to go on the gluten challenge; I’ve been noticing some odd things and am wondering if they are gluten related— chest pain, extreme sleepiness and yawning, feeling off balance and feeling like I’m walking sideways or something, tremors and feeling like my insides are shaking. Ive noticed being forgetful and struggling to find words...
  7. Most of the time I do yes. Like if I toast I have eggs or if I have pasta I have meat with it. There have been times when it’s been naked carbs, like saltine crackers to calm my stomach. Other than that I do try to eat protein
  8. I am on day 24 of my gluten challenge. I have been consuming the recommended daily amount of gluten. I am also a diabetic. Since starting the gluten challenge my sugars have been crazy uncontrolled and high. I take metformin and januvia for my diabetes. My doc increased my januvia to 100 mg daily bc my sugars have been so much higher. But nothing seems to...
  9. My current issues are this horrible feeling of being overly stuffed all the time which is causing reflux so bad I have vomit in the back of my throat. Like when I eat it just feels like here is no where for my food to go. Im miserable and can’t get relief. Im also having issues with bathroom habits. One day I will be somewhat constipated, like I just d...
  10. Thanks! The benfotiamine I have is 200 mg per soft gel?? Is there nothing much to help with the bloating?
  11. Thank you!! What helps with this horribly painful bloating??? Should I do a stool softener or gentle laxative for the partial constipation issue? And how much benfotiamine??
  12. That’s a good idea .. as long as it’s good enough for this gluten challenge.. I can try it
  13. I sent them a message. Its really been high since starting the gluten challenge and just doesn’t come down much
  14. Thank you so very much for all this helpful information!! I really appreciate it!! I am hanging in there as best I can. I have almost been constipated at times since starting the gluten challenge. Is that normal? I’m super fatigued and exhausted with brain fog and concentration issues. I’ve been itching. My allergies are all flared up. I feel like I’v...
  15. Okay thanks. Yes I take metformin and januvia for my diabetes
  16. I hav been eating breads, breaded chicken, crackers and pizza. My sugar has been out the roof and I truly feel terrible from both gluten and high sugar- not sure which is worse. So if I can only eat 6 slices of bread a day, is that enough for the biopsy on Sept 27?? And should I be eating white or wheat or does it matter?
  17. I am diabetic unfortunately, and I haven’t found a balance at all as of yet. I don’t take insulin, so I’m not sure what options are there for me. I messaged my doc but haven’t heard anything back. I just want to make sure I get a reliable biopsy
  18. Okay, so basically pig out? 😂 I am going by the guidelines given here. I’ve been trying to eat a lot. I’m miserable. And my sugar has really been high since having to eat all this but I’m hoping for a reliable biopsy
  19. Okay, thanks for this tip! I will stick with regular bread. I posted in the forum with some questions about all this. If you have time to check it out, it’s titled Starting the Gluten Challenge ..could use the advice! If it’s easier I can ask here too. Thanks so much!
  20. Okay good, thank you so much! It’s hard to know if it’s enough if it’s not just breads I’m eating. Does it matter what kind of bread or if it’s lite bread with less carbs?
  21. I just started the gluten challenge on the 19th. My biopsy and colonoscopy and EGD is scheduled for September 27th. Is that a sufficient amount of time of consuming gluten to get a reliable biopsy?
  22. Is 5 weeks of eating gluten enough to get a reliable biopsy?
  23. Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in but here I go: I am starting the gluten challenge for an upcoming EGD and colonoscopy with biopsies. I have not done a gluten challenge before, as I fell through the cracks and was told to go off gluten before seeing an GI doc. I am not excited about it. Gluten makes me very sick with all sorts of...
