Here's an odd one !My DH is in sales and is therefore on his feet all day. For at least two years he's had a lot of pain in the arch, more one foot than the other (I can't remember which). I was really beginning to think he had plantar fasciitis or something. He's not one to complain unless something's really up (he hardly said anything when he had appendicitis). So he started doing the gluten-free diet about two weeks ago or so, when we got the results of my son's EnteroLab tests back. The other day he commented that his foot pain was almost totally gone ! Nothing about his job has changed. He felt so much better he was able to take the arch supports out. I'm not sure which of us is more surprised by this - him or me ! Anyone ever hear of a connection like this ?? I'm not sure which of us is more surprised by this - him or me ! Anyone ever hear of a connection like this ??Same thing happened with me. I would have terrible heel pain. Once I went gluten free it disappeared. I definately believe there is a connection. I definately believe there is a connection.-Jessica

Has anyone tried to make 'pigs in a blanket'? (little hotdogs with a roll wrapped around them). Do you think that mix for chebe bread would work? I haven't tried it, but just thinking. My daughter really misses them, good for snacking or a quick lunch). They'd also be good for appetizers at a party Ha that's the first thing that I thought of when I read the pigs in a blanket request.........chebe. Here is a corndog recipe on their site...........which to me sounds more like pigs in a blanket than corndogs Chebe Corndogs Chebe CorndogsO A F P G 1) Make the dough according to package directions. 2) Divide the dough into about 6 equal pieces and flatten each out in a thin layer. 3) Take a hot dog and poke a small wooden skewer through it for holding onto it after it's cooked. 4) Wrap the dough around the hot dog to cover it. 5) When finished with all six hot dogs, place them on a baking dish and bake in a preheated 375 F. oven until the bread appears done (check after 20 minutes). What a treat!! Piggies-In-A-Blanket O A F P G 1) Using a bread dough mixer, or with a spoon blend mix in a bowl with 1 C shredded cheese of your choice , 2 eggs, 2 Tbs. oil, and1/3 C water. 2) Mix well with hands for 5 min. or until very smooth and well blended. (Add a little water if too dry; add Chebe mix or food starch if too sticky.) Roll into 20 balls and flatten each one. 3) Place a cocktail wiener or sausage on each piece of dough and roll them up. Place on non-greased baking sheet and bake.

The Wild Oats on 119th Street is much larger and has a much larger selection.I also shop at the Whole Foods on Metcalf... and the Hy-Vee in Mission. You can only find the gluten-free foods in their "health food" area though. They aren't out in the main grocery area. Jessica - I swear one of these days we are going to walk right by each other in the store! =) My new favorite thing is the gluten-free chocolate chip muffins made by Bread of Life bakery. Only Whole Foods has them, and they are in a really small display over by the bakery case. Yum-O! haha you just never know who you will see at the store As for the Bread of Life bakery.........watch out. I went to a support group meeting where the owners of the bakery came to talk to the group. They were wanting to get into gluten-free baking and were wanting to find out more about it. They had no clue about cross contamination or really anything about baking gluten-free. They also bake TONS of wheatey products. So picture flour flying everywhere while baking gluten-free products. I know when the group met with them they were hesitant to set up another gluten free baking area.....sooooo just a warning . I would hope that if they are marketing their products now that they have it a little more under control and have researched it a bit more. You might even give them a call and see if they have a more dedicated facility that they are baking in. I would hate for you all to be getting sick!! -Jessica

One more vote for, it should be fine. One way to freeze is to wrap it in plastic wrap then put into a freezer bag or foil. It seems to help (or at least I think it does) One way to freeze is to wrap it in plastic wrap then put into a freezer bag or foil. It seems to help (or at least I think it does)-Jessica

I've been gluten free for about 4 years now. They have been safe the whole time I have been gluten-free. -Jessica Two years ago Cheetos did have wheat in their ingredients. They have since changed the formula and I now eat them with no problem. Two years ago Cheetos did have wheat in their ingredients. I can't imagine that old packages are still around but it is possible.

I contacted Starbucks and received an e-mail stating that the, "Marshmallow Squares DO contain Gluten."Except for it is a whoopie pie if I understand correctly not a marshmallow square.......you might want to ask them about the whoopie pie and see what the results are for that. -Jessica

We are planning a family trip (10 or so of us) to NYC for next Nov. to see the Macy's parade among other things. Does anyone know of a good hotel on the parade route that we could book a room in with a view of the parade so we don't have to be on the street? I know they book up fast, so we're tyring to book now for next year. We really need a suite set up if possible since we have at least two Celiacs and we'll need to store some food. Thanks in advance if anyone can help!I am not a New Yorker. I do not have any ideas. However I just wanted to say that sure sounds like fun!!! I'm jealous!! Hope you enjoy your trip. -Jessica

I'm going to try this again. I think the original might have gotten bumped-someone thinking I was running a biz or something-NOT TRUE. I often, informally and for free, conduct gluten-free baking classes in my home, which has a dedicated gluten-free kitchen. I will be doing so again for the holidays. I will be demonstrating maple-pecan pumpkin pie, spicy pumpkin bread, sage stuffing and garlic croutons for Thanksgiving and date-nut bread, cheesecake and rolled sugar cookies. If you live in the area and are interested (or if you want to fly in-I had 1 person do that once;coordinated a visit with a demonstration) let me know what dates you would be available and I will be happy to include you. Weekdays/nights are best but Saturday is ok. We always end up with new people as the number of people being diagnosed grows each day. God's blessings to you and all those you hold dear! So you are offering a free service? You are letting folks come into your home, bake for free provide all ingredients for free? There is absolutely no catch? You don't sell anything at all? Congrats to you if this is the case It sounds like a fun idea. It sounds like a fun idea.-Jessica

What a HIEFER!!! I'd casually drop some comment about intellectual property rights. The photo set-ups were the photographers vision therefore HIS work, not this hiefers. If she wasn't out to make a buck then she would have handed over a photo celiac disease without any hesitation. People like this are soooo annoying. Good luck!! -Jessica

Jell-o is a Kraft company. Any gluten ingredients would be listed on the label. For example if the modified food starch was from wheat it would say Modified Food starch from wheat or Modified Food starch (wheat). So if you don't see any wheat, rye, barley, or oats. It is safe. I know it was fine the last time I checked/bought it.
Enjoy.
