  2. I have never been able to be brave enough to even try the store bought rotisserie chickens. I watch how they are cooked and it screams cross contamination to me! They stick 8-10 chickens in a huge rotisserie, some may be plain, lemon pepper, garlic etc and they are ALL in the same thing cooking and spinning and dripping on each other! If one of those flavors...
  3. I went to all of the trouble to bake that wonderful beautiful cake......lugged it to the wedding.....sat it in a safe place so no one would contaminate it......then got busy dancing and talking and totally forgot I brought cake! ha Soooo lugged it back home at the end of the night and had myself a big piece! ha I'm such a dork! 5. How about "How to have a gluten free Cook-out". You can talk about how charcoal has gluten to bind it together, talk about marinades, bbq sauces, cross contamination with grills, throw in a few recipes for potato salad, pasta salad, and maybe a marinade and call it good Good luck! -Jessica
  6. Her book is called Gluten Free Baking Classics. AND she has an amazing coconut cake recipe in the book. I just made it last weekend for my family. They loved it (they are not gluten-free). You can get her book on amazon .com for quite a bit less than the publishers listed price. Open Original Shared Link You might just mention to your friend...

  8. I will try to take some pics. I don't have a digital so It might be a while until I can post them ( use a roll of film at the wedding this weekend). I had a bunch of frosting left over, and couldn't see it going to waste so I baked another cake!! ha I made this one into a mini wedding cake, like the fancy ones you see on TV. I did two tiny layers. Frosted...
  9. I am in a wedding this Saturday. The bride is a good friend of mine. She has been going out of her way to be sure that I will have "safe" food to eat at rehearsal and the reception. (I know, a great friend huh!!). She was especially freaking out about the cake, so I told her I would just bake one. I have a wonderful recipe that Annalise Roberts created for...

  11. I have never tried the nestle, but they are a company that won't hide ingredients on their labels. Blue bunny push pops are safe -Jessica
  12. If this is the same recipe for the drink you are talking about, you could be having trouble with the milk and hopefull you are checking brands on the liquors you are using. -Jessica
  13. Most likely they are talking about a disended abdomen. If you have ever seen the commercials of the children in 3rd world countries, they have distended tummies. -Jessica
  14. Burping and belching can be a sign of a gallbladder that needs to come out, it can also be a sign of diverticulitis. I'm sure it's a sign of a million other things too, I can't recall ever burping alot after getting glutened though. -Jessica
  15. Today I made the coconut cake recipe in the book, my house smells SO yummy right now. I am waiting for the layers to cool so that I can frost them. Her coconut frosting recipe is yummy!! I have snuck some of that out of the bowl haha I can't wait to have a piece of that cake. -Jessica

  17. I know of one lady who had a toddler. She would label each safe piece of food with a stickey label. She might have a fruit leather and it would have a sticker on it that said "Gabby's Snacks". Her little girl knew that if it had this sticker, then it was safe and it was hers to eat. A system like this would be helpful if you ever had to go somewhere...
  18. Not to be confused with the vanilla (butter) layer cake recipe. It is exactly like gluten filled wedding cake. It has that texture.....YUM! -Jessica

  22. I am the girl that Annalise speaks of on page 37 of her cookbook. She created her Vanilla (butter) layer cake for ME! It is the most amazing recipe EVER! She saved my special day by creating this wonderful recipe just for me. The people at my reception kept begging me for the recipe and when I told them it was gluten free, they could not believe it. They...
  23. Also, if you happen to be stationed in Japan due to the Military (you didn't say why you were there, just thought it might be military). The grocery stores on base usually sell some gluten free items, or at least I have been told that they do. -Jessica
  24. Sounds like you need to write to Bette and have her put out a "board book" version ! That way he can slobber on it, throw it around, and it will withstand the wear and tear -Jessica
