  1. After being gluten free for 7 months I was still having problems regularly, and it was always after my coffee, which I had two cups every morning with that Coffee Mate Vanilla stuff, dairy and gluten free. I also found myself not eating any breakfast in the morning because it took my stomach a couple hours to settle down after I had the coffee and food was...
  2. Hi Bravie, I have been gluten free for over a year now and my last glutening was at Thanksgiving when I was visiting my parents out of state. I brought all my own food and cleaned everything before I used it to prepare foods -- but my mom's kitchen is not a "safe" place. It must be hard for you, I don't think I could share a gluten kitchen. I...
  3. For your information.... the Kirkland Signature brand canned "Premium chunk Chicken Breast" (packed in water) IS gluten free. I emailed them and receive this response: "Thank you for your email to Costco Wholesale. Yes, it is gluten free. Thank you, Brenda Costco Wholesale Corporation"
  4. Ha ha -- I have a college professor that constantly talks about CAKE as examples in production/process management ARGH. I personally have learned to like it because it is as close as I will get to ever having it again and the memories of how good cake is makes me smile. So, I guess I say it's all in the attitude. I even like the smell of foods I can't...
  5. Thank you so much for the email address! I emailed them to find out about their canned chicken. I have tried it a few times and didn't feel well after but it's been a long time and it could have been something else I ate at the time.
  6. Who did you email? Their website doesn't seem to be very helpful with directing for emailing questions about their products. Or else I am too impatient digging through their site for help. I would like to know if anyone is fine eating the Kirkland brand Chicken in the can... the ones near the tuna cans...?
  7. Did you happen to notice the "Tortilla Chips with an Identity Crisis?" One part potato, one part corn, one part brown rice, and all parts flavorful They're also gluten free and low in sodium. I haven't tried them, but they sound "interesting"
  8. Is anyone here taking YAZ? I called the manufacturer (Bayer) and they said they do not put any gluten containing products in it, but can't vouch for outside sources...
  9. I am not so sure the Evening Primrose Oil helped, but then I started it just a couple days before I actually got my "." so maybe it didn't have much of a chance. I was doubled over on Monday night. Yikes... I have a few friends that take primrose oil along with vitamin E and they swear by it... And for those who might want to know... Radiance Vitamins...
  10. Hi Staci -- My worst night was Monday, and my midterm was Tuesday night so fortunately I slid by. Evening Primrose Oil is supposed to be a natural way of helping to assist in alleviating cramping and other PMS (or MS) issues. I have a few friends that swear by it. And I do eat bananas everyday... one of those few foods I get to eat I did call...
  11. Is the 'glutenfreedrugs' list reliable? I am going to be starting a new med. and it's on the list, but was wondering if I should check with the manufacturer just to be safe? Open Original Shared Link
  12. I have heard that Evening Primrose Oil is good for PMS symptoms. Has anyone else here tried it? I am 46 and over the past year my cycle is completely out of control... cramping, heavy flo, gas, I can't leave my house. I usually get the big D along with the whole mess. So I live on Motrin, and Immodium. When it's over I feel like I was run over by a...
  13. Another thing, my friends know that I won't have bread around, so when the kids get together for summer beach days, or other long outings, I bring snacks and the other moms will supply sandwiches. (My 13 year old is 6'2" so I have to bring a lot of snacks to compensate for all the sandwiches he eats
  14. I don't allow any gluten in my house. Every time I have had bread or gluten cereals around I end up having ongoing problems-- too many crumbs unaccounted for My husband isn't too bad because he doesn't eat bread or cereal, and it's easy to find gluten free condiments. My son, who is 13, is a problem. He knows how sick I get, and he understands how...
  15. I would be concerned about grinding coffee where all sorts of varieties have already gone through it. Also, I asked Costco about their Don Jose's Vanilla Nut coffee when Don Jose had his employees there if it was gluten free, and they just looked at me with a blank stare and said "yes"... I was not convinced, so I don't buy it. I use Kirkland brand...
  16. What a great idea! I am going to have to try that sometime.
  17. Is there some kind of hot lunch you can bring him from home once in a while that he really likes? You can even add a fruit smoothy for that extra special touch.
  18. I eat them all the time and think they are very good. I love finding gluten-free stuff at TJs because they are much more reasonably priced than anywhere else. Sometimes we don't get to be too picky on taste, but I happen to think these are just as good as any!
  19. I got sick over Thanksgiving while I was visiting my parents, and I didn't eat any of their food, and brought all my own. But there were crumbs everywhere. ugh... We have a camper and I absolutely love it. You can load it up and it's super convenient. The camper is nice because you can pull up just about anywhere and park it, but you need a good...
  20. I never thought in a million years that I would give up caffeine, and this past summer I did. (If I have to give up my wine, there will be nothing left (I didn't even go decaf when I was pregnant (I did cut back).) I was having a lot of stomach trouble and truly believed it was the caffeine. It didn't always hit me right away, but I was finding I...
  21. You are so lucky.... I am from California too, and Arizona has Picazzos. It is sooo good. My parents live in Mesa so I head out that way every so often. They have one in Tempe, Flagstaff, and somewhere else I can't remember, but google it. Also, there is Joe's BBQ in Gilbert which I used to always go to when I was visiting out there prior to going gluten...
  22. You bring up an issue I have been considering lately also. I too have noticed that when I eat fried potatoes I do not feel so well either. And I think it's the potatoes for me. Here's why... I like to use Adelle (sp) sausages, slice 'em and fry 'em with a chopped potato, and throw in some broccoli and some other vegetables. (I used to have an egg...
  23. Has anyone eaten the Brocolli Salad from Costco without any problems? My dh eats them all the time, but I have avoided them because I am uncomfortable with the dressing, and the bag of dried fruit and nuts that go in it.
  24. Not sure about Ragu, but I use Prego all the time and have not had any problems.
  25. For the record, I ate the Kirkland ham for Christmas and I am NOT sick -- so I guess it is safe to say it is safe! I did attack the ham first, and I filled up a large Ziplock before anyone else got their gluteny hands on it or passed their bread or pie over it
