  1. Aren't we a sorry lot ?!
  2. I can't find any either. I did just read though that they are changing their labeling and soon any Yoplait that doesn't have gluten in it WILL say gluten-free on the container. I'm just trying to be patient. Hope it happens soon!
  3. Thank you for the suggestion! I made this bread this weekend and we had it Saturday and Sunday with dinner. My hubby (who has celiac disease) appreciated my efforts at making gluten-free bread - but kindly told me to stop a couple months ago. He just didn't like the way they won't hold as a sandwich - always falling apart on him. But this bread he really...
  4. Hi, my name is Kelly and I am a loser of the worst kind. My hubby gave me $400 to hold on to until our credit card came (for something he charged). I put it in a TV guide...kind of as a book mark and set it on the counter in "my spot". Well fast forward 2 weeks and we are expecting company so I am tidying up and I THROW OUT THE TV GUIDE. I cried...
  5. We love Pamela's! I make waffles, pancakes, banana bread and cookies with it. And once you fall in love with it be sure to check it out at Amazon. It's much cheaper than in the store. Good luck!
  6. Yep - Old El Paso taco seasoning mix is perfect. We use it all the time. Good luck!
  7. Thanks everyone for all of your ideas! I really appreciate it. With these I'll be able to make him some trail mix that he really likes. Thanks again!
  8. Hi all. I thought I found one on here last year, made it, and hubby loved it. Now I can't find it AND I can't remember what I put in it! What do you all put in yours? I could really use some suggestions. Thanks!
  9. Hi there. Has anyone been to the Nagoya's in SC? We are going to visit my sister for Christmas and are eating at Nagoya's on Christmas Eve. I'm just wondering if you've been there and was it a good experience? Were they helpful in giving you a gluten-free meal? Thanks for any comments. Kelly
  10. Hi Joni. I think they'd be great on a casserole. I tried them to replace bread crumbs and as a coating, but that didn't exactly work. As a topping though, I think that would work out good. Good luck! Kelly
  11. Hi tucson - Sometimes I use cider vinegar...but in this recipe I used my distilled white vinegar because it's gluten free. I'm lucky because the store I buy from (Wal-Mart) lists on their vinegar container that it is gluten-free. I hope this helped, Good luck!
  12. Thanks Jenny. Do you just wet your hand then - and is the dough easy to get off your hand? Sounds like a dumb question...but that stuff can be sooo hard to remove! So to get this straight...I don't want to screw it up...as it is mixing, you add more flour...how much would you guess? I mix this in my Kitchen Aid only because my hubby says he likes...
  13. Lorka - I wish I had read about your bread recipe earlier. I made this yesterday and my husband was giddy like a school girl! I can't tell you (but I'm sure you already know) how happy this had made my family. I just have to say thank you thank you thank you! I love that it was easy to make, doesn't fall apart and tastes great. Wow. Just like regular...
  14. Kat - He loved it! I just got off the phone with him and he said it was great to have a sandwich that didn't fall apart. I made it yesterday and I'm excited at how easy it was. I must have missed more in the thread too, because you said you shaped it into a ball...I didn't do that. I mixed all the dry ingredients, then mixed all the wet ingredients...
  15. Thanks everyone for all of your suggestions! I'm making great banana chocolate chip bread now! Thanks again! Kelly
  16. Thanks Kat - that will really help. I'm so excited to make this. My DH "lives" with the Gluten Free Pantry's Favorite Sandwich Bread mix...but if I can make him one as "normal" feeling and tasting as the reviews imply...he will be thrilled! Thanks again!
  17. Hi zkat! I would be very interested too in knowing which setting you used (I have the same Bread Man). I read as much of the reviews/thread as I could...but couldn't find the settings. Thank you!!! I can't wait to make this.
  18. lilgreen, Out of the (probably) 10 different recipes that I have tried over the last 2 years, my DH's favorite is the Gluten-free Pantry Favorite Sandwich Bread mix. As you'll find, all the gluten-free bread is heavier in texture...most people say it's only good if you toast it, but my husband got used to it for sandwiches. Hope this helps! If you...
  19. If you can get is, Saz's barbeque sauce is wonderful and it's gluten-free. I believe Sweet Baby Rays is as well. Just remember that "flour" (as you listed above) hides in soooo many items your would never think have wheat flour in them. I glutened my poor DH by giving him soy sauce (wheat was the 1st or 2nd thing in the ingreditent list). So it hides...
  20. You know, we think my DH is still being glutened somehow and I wonder if this is it. I checked deodorant and toothpaste (does't use hair spray), shampoo and a few other things but never thought to check TP, PT and kleenex! Thanks!
  21. Betty - We use McCormick and Spice Trend (which is made by McCormick) and my husband hs had no problems at all. Hope this helps.
  22. Thanks for poting this! I can't wait to try it!
  23. No, I use a non-stick metal loaf pan (like an EKCO). When I used to made his sandwich bread in there (prior to using the Breadman) it popped out great every time. It's just this darned banana bread! I think I will also try the minis - I bought them so I could make muffins for him too (banana overkill anyone?) because the regular chocolate chips just...
  24. Thank you! That makes so much sense. I've been using my KitchenAid mixer for this and I really don't think I hvae to. If I were to just fold in the wet ingredients like you said, the mixture also wouldn't be thinned out so much (from the beater). Thank you! I will try again this weekend!
  25. Hello! I'm so frustrated. My husband loves the banana bread I make him. He also loves chocolate chips. So last week I made a banana bread with chocolate chips in it. It looks as though all the chocolate chips dropped to the bottom of the pan and I couldn't even get the bread out of the pan! I tried "separating" the bread from the pan with a knife...
