  1. Hi I am in europe too. There have been some very good articles about celiac in the bmj. They might be worth showin to the doctor. i think you should ask the doctor for the celiac blood tests. i tested negative, was off gluten too soon after the symptoms appeared (I had had negative tests twice before, a couple of years ago and several years ago so...
  2. Hi There was someone with acute celiac at the delphi forum, she was in the hospital being fed into the blood, not the stomach-what do you call it. -anyway, she did have a diagnosis some years earlier but then five years ago or so had gone back on gluten because she had no symptoms. Until this happened. So there is a chance you have something like that...
  3. Another thing is, those with neuropathy may well be DQ1, as Dr. Hadjivassiliou pointed out in several articles. I tested negative for DQ2 or DQ8. Culd be DQ1. If you find his patent application there is some more on it too, and find his articles on pubmed. There are two entire forums for peripheral neuropathy caused by gluten sensitivity, one braintalk...
  4. Little Zoe, please tell us the name of the test, I am so curious. nora europe negative tests, negative biopsy but I was only back on gluten for five weeks. Very sensitive to accidental glutening.
  5. Hi I stopped eating gluten after my feet "disappeared" because of gluten. Also problems reading, and lots of typos on gluten. I thought the keyboard was malfunctioning. There are really lots of articles in www.pubmed.com now, but they do not all show up with the search word celiac, they did not index them that way. Somehow I got more hits Open...
  6. Yorktest results are in!! Still waiting for the paper version with some explanation. It said avoid YEAST and Kiwi. Limit (max. twice a week I think) molluscs and soy and some beans. Nothing in grains or gliadin or milk. But the yeast reaction probably points to some candida issue, and I think that explains why I react so trongly to citric acid...
  7. I used to get a sore throat from some icecreams because they had a yellow colour called annatto (a natural colour) to which I am allergic.... I avoid all dairy now except for some goat cheese which i have tried. Cow casein is not good for humans, read dogtorj's pages. Open Original Shared Link Advertisement/ I might try goat ice cream when that gets on...
  8. Sonja, about the IgG tests for different foodstuffs in Germany, you can read the thread about "Nahrungsmittelunvertr
  9. Hi Sonja Sad to hear others have bloated stomachs too and no help. I am glad to read you tolerated the cream on the pancakes. makes life easier, I mean not having to avoid traces of milk all the time. I remembered yesterday that there is another homeopathic remedy I can recommend to you, it is made of different house molds. Rhinoplex 8, made in...
  10. Hi Sonja, I think it is a good sign you were fine while away....maybe it is your lat after all. I had to take out all shampoos etc to get better, with me it was perfume that was making my sinuses red and infalmed and caused a pressure in my head. I did not contiume nursing school because of that. And I have to insist to get the upstairs bathroom fixed...
  11. Yes, looks like we have our own thread here Have a nice time skiing! Here is snow now too, but it is cold. Combizym stops the bloating in my stomach, it is just enzymes. Maybe I have not-so-much stomach acid, or something autoimmune going on, very many with autoimmune thyroid disease (the most common kind) have some stomach autoimmunity but they do not...
  12. Hi Sonja I think it is wise to remove the milk and yoghurt. About 75% of celiacs and most IBS do not tolerate y milk and lactose. I stopped the milk already in 1992, and I found out from trying that the so-called lactosefree milk was only lactose reduced. The yoghurt also had too much lactose. I did tolerate soem ice cream and milk creamer powder. Until...
  13. About more copies than 2: The genes can also be in trans and cis position. Maybe then there can be two there alone, I do not know. Open Original Shared Link has something about the genes, "DQ2 and DQ8 are serotypes defined by immunological reactivity where as DQA1:DQB1 are two-locus haplotypes that are commonly found that result in the serotypes, and...
  14. Sonja, I eat more like Atkins. I have either an omelet with three eggs and maybe bacon in the morning, and some raw vegetables for the gut bacteriae. They need some roughage several times a day and are important. Or, I have a can of tuna, drained. Some veggies. I have some gluten-free wasa knekkebr
  15. Thanks, Sonja. Yesterday I tried changing the harddisk in an old toshiba laptop. (It was actually easy because one just needs to open a thing on the side) . After turning the thing upside down several times, I noticed there were losts of crumbs falling out of the keyboard.......CRUMBS! I think the people here maybe were onto something when they suggest...
  16. Sonja, the cheapest ricecakes here (Euroshopper) have probably no traces of gluten. On the package they list: "may contain traces of milk, sesame and celery" So I assume no gluten is processed in the same room... Do you have a boyfriend that eats gluten? you can get glutened by kissing him.... nora
  17. The IgA on the DH lesions is used up, so the biopsy must be done on healthy skin close to it. IgA gets used up they say. I wonder if that also applies to other IgA tests...there are some people that make less IgA and it might get used up in teh process....... The biopsy was done incorrect. Just google for how they should do it. nora
  18. Hi Sonja. I did read on the yorktest, it seems better than the skin prick tests and there are several abstracts in pubmed about IgG testing. I read some articles about conventional allergy testing and conventional testing is quite inaccurate. I read about Dr. Vera Stejskal and her work with better testing. I am hypothyroid too (another autoimmune...
  19. Hi Sonja, you might still be celiac. My daughter got an official diagnosis of celiac without any positive biopsy or blood tests. Her symtoms were very clear, and even her graves disease just vanished after going gluten-free. In fact that was what started tha whole thing. She had had her second episode of graves, the first one went away with antithyroid...
  20. I am in Scandinavia. Daughter is diagnosed celiac, and I am gluten-free because of symptoms. Very sensitive to gluten, milk problems getting better now. Was bad. We do not tolerate the wheat starch (labeled gluten-free). Trying to find out what is safe and what not. Had to change toothpaste for example. The mold issue is interesting. No, I can't smell...
  21. Hi! Somebody posted about mold and celiac earlier in this thread (I think). They posted something about the Lancet and mold and celiac. Very interesting. I am a bit concerned it might not be enough to wash the surface, the mold might be because there is some water damage somewhere else and the building might be infested. I have seen reports that if...
  22. I am in Scandianavia too. I do know about the mold, we are not supposed to have any mold in houses or workplaces. Do a google search on m
  23. Hi Sonja, the bleach is Klorin or something like that. Household bleach. It is the only thing I know of that is known to kill mold. I have some suspicions regarding a bathroom with some moldy smell at times here at my house too.... nora
