  1. You are very creative.......I also love Anna's breads. Best of all gluten-free breads. Sharon
  2. Wow, thanks for the tip! The gluten free restaurant in my area (Madison Heights) recently closed. All we have around here now are gluten-free bakeries. I will be sure to try this restaurant. Sharon
  3. Hi Virgie, I am also Lutheran...For a while I just had the wine and passed on the wafers. I am one of two celiacs in our congregation. We take a bag of rice cakes to the altar guild ladies and each communion Sunday they put a small piece of rice cake in a small dish and when the pastor comes to me he takes the dish off the altar and I pick up the piece...
  4. I couldn't agree with you more about Noodles & Company. They always are very careful and read the list of allergens in their binder before proceeding with my order. The pad tai and two other tomato dishes with rice noodles are great! You said you get chips with your meal at Chipotle--does that mean they do not deep fry them like most Mexican restaurants...
  5. Hi dandelion: My hubby and I went to Amici's and I (the gluten-free one) was disappointed. The pizza was OK, nothing more. Also, very expensive. My personal pizza cost about $15. I decided I could save money and get a better pizza by staying home and making Glutino gluten-free duo cheese pizza ($3.99). I add a little more sauce, mozzarella cheese...
  6. I would like to try this recipe. What does drained applesauce mean? Sharon
  7. Looks like the product you mention is safe.....I will try to find out about the concealer. Thanks. Sharon
  8. Hi everyone, Does anyone know if Clinique continuous coverage under-eye concealer is gluten free? I googled it but came up empty. Sharon
  9. Hi, Since most people feel I should not use a breadmaker given to me because it was used to make wheat bread, I guess I will try getting a new one. I hate to do that, because if I don't like the end product, I cannot return it. I am thinking about buying the Sunbeam Programmable Bread Machine. Any comments on this brand? Thanks
  10. My daughter is giving me her bread machine that she no longer uses. She has used it for wheat bread. Can I clean this machine thoroughly enough so it will be safe for me to use for my gluten free bread? I would appreciate any comments.
  11. I had that happen to me earlier this year while traveling. At this particular Chang's, I ordered some kind of gluten-free noodle dish, and they brought it to me and after taking a couple of bites, a waiter rushed up and took it away from me, telling me that I had received the dish with gluten by mistake! I guess that's one of the risks of eating out...
  12. Dear Mamatide: I agree with you 100 percent! Glutino pizza is the best, not to mention the cheapest. Most gluten-free pizzas are expensive, Glutino small personal duo cheese pizza is only $3.99 at the Good Food Company. I always add more cheese, sauce and some pepperoni and it is wonderful! Sharon
  13. Dear kat, Sorry, I don't know how common it is, but I have all three. Also, I am under the impression that normal range for a fasting glucose is between 90 and 130.
  14. I agree, Breads from Anna are the absolute best! Also, for pancakes that taste just like regular ones, try Pamela's pancake mix.
  15. I was diagnosed with diabetes and then with celiac a couple of months later. Too bad they aren't making gluten free products that are also sugar free. In order to remain gluten free, many of the foods I eat contain sugar.
  16. Hi Katy, Is this bread better than the mix from Breads from Anna? I am very happy with quality of Anna's bread, but I am always open to trying something that may be better. Sharon
  17. Glad you found a good gravy mix Betty. I have not seen that brand of gravy mix here in Michigan, but Mayacama has a wonderful gravy mix. Chicken and beef gravy are both excellent. Sharon
