  2. Beautifully said Carla. My kids are 4, 6 and 8 and I'm concerned for their health. I don't want them to suffer as much as I have. Through my illness, as little as they are, they have shown to be strong and increasingly independent with my absenteeism. I am truly thankful. And thank you Rinne for the welcome. TS
  3. Yes! I'm relieved and scared all at the same time. I've been very ill for 9 years now and subtle symptoms going all the way back to early childhood. I believe my pregnancy, dental work and some very stressful events in my life triggered all of this to explode. I have three little ones to think about now, and I have to figure out what this is going...
  4. My Goodness! Cannot even the alternative Drs. read the IGenex diagnosis and CLEARLY see it is POSITIVE???????? It does not take a rocket scientist to read POSITIVE. I thought it was positive too but wasn't going to come to conclusions until I've heard from the people who live with this. Thanks Carla.
  5. Hi Andrea. I am totally computer illiterate. I have no idea how to copy. When my husband gets home from work I will have him help me. Sorry. TS
  6. I called my Holistic Alternative Dr. to see if my IGenX Lyme test was in as it had been like 20 days sence IGenX received it. I was real nervous. The receptionist said it's good news I was negative. I said, could I pick up a copy and she said they were closing at noon so I said I'd be there in 10 minutes. Whoa I was shaking all the way there because...
  7. Hi there. I finally got the long awaited IGenX Lyme test. I will post on the Lyme thread as soon as I can type it. Thanks for your support. TS
  8. Hi Susie. I am new to gluten intolerance. I am not even sure I have it but feel better gluten free. You definitely have to have a non gluten starter to have it be gluten free. You can't use any starter. I got my starter from G.E.M cultures and is a brown rice sourdough. I plan on using quinoa or millet next. BTW I would love any of your famous...
  9. Thanks for all the tips. I too would like to do quinoa, and wondered too about the coating on the quinoa. And yes my Family Grain mill is contaminated with wheat, so that's why I'm looking. I had a few friends say they love their Vita Mix and you can do all sorts of stuff with it, so maybe thats what I should look into. Happy baking
  10. Well.... It turned out pretty lousy, but eatable. The top was hard and when I cut it, it crumbled to pieces. The center was nice and moist, so maybe turn down the heat a bit and try again I do have to say it did taste quite like the brown rice loaf from Little Streams Bakery(if anyone has tried that one.) I think I'm gonna try the quinoa...
  11. I fed my sourdough starter yesterday. It was foaming nicely after 12 hours. I proceeded to make the bread and it's now been another 12 hours and nothing is happening. I don't know what I did wrong. It's in a nice warm spot with a tea cloth on top. Can anyone give me a site to look at to see what to do or talk me through this. I loved making all...
  12. Just got it today in the mail. Any raves? or complaints? Thanks TS
  13. ShadowSwallow, Sounds like you have a good plan to follow and you have knowledgeable Dr.s. Fry's lab is good and should be accurate in any possible co-infections. As I have been reading this thread on and off for the past year the simularities in symptoms are very much the same for all of us. I'm anticipating the call from my Dr. on my IgeneX test...
  14. I enjoyed your post Yellow Rose. You definitely have persistence in your blood. BTW, I always have arthritis symptoms/Fibro flares when I eat nightshades. I haven't delved deep into the LOD yet, but may have too. Right now trying to steer clear of gluten as I'm waiting for the Entero lab gene test and have avoided sugar, processed food for the fibro...
  15. Hi. I'm still very new to all this, and I was wondering how many of you use your own grain mill? I have a electric/manual Family Grain Mill that I don't like. Even when I have it cranked down to the finest setting the flour is not fine enough Uggg! Which one do you all recommend? Also how many of you purchase grains in large quantity? I belong...
  16. Hi. I love liver and onions But if I didn't I would freeze the liver and cut small enough pieces that I could swallow like pills. I read this on a yahoo candida site. Because it is frozen there is little to no smell. And if I remember right the iron is absorbed more the rawer the liver is. I wouldn't have a problem doing this if I knew the source...
  17. Hi Carla. Yes I wear a hard splint 24/7. I can't touch my back teeth. This is my 3rd splint and hopefully my last. I've had TMJ for over 20 years that started when I had braces in my teen years. It got so bad It locked shut and I was in severe pain. I went to a wonderful TMJ Dr. in Ohio and he unlocked my jaw. Unfortunatly my discs are flat...
  18. Hi. Most of my symptoms exploded when I got pregnant with my first, and when I had some severe stressful issues in my life. I pretty much was asymptomatic up until this time. I played in the woods alot and my dog always seem to get ticks on her. I estimate I have had at least 45 of the symptoms on the list, many neurological. One of the most severe...
  19. Hi, Just bumping this one up
  20. I found this great thread and needed to ask a question about adrenals. My Holistic Dr. thinks I have stressed adrenals (tests show high a.m. cortisol levels). She wants to give me 5mg cortef 2 times a day. She gave me the script but I haven't filled it yet. I have read that HC and cortef can lower your immune system as well as many other things...
  21. Hi. I just wanted to let you know I just sent my Lyme test out FedX today. I got the two Western blots. Out of curiosity how long did it take you you all to get your results back? Thanks, TS
  22. Thanks so much Andrea. I'm still pretty sick, and itchy from this mornings french toast. I'll tell my Holistic Dr. to order the gene test for me from Enterolabs. This sounds like a good place to start. TS
  23. So.... Should I ask for the complete panel at Entero Labs or should I just assume I have a wheat allergy? Also... If I have just a wheat allergy what foods could I eat that a person with celiac could not? Or to put it another way.... How is a celiac persons diet different from a person with wheat allergy? Sorry still so confused. Thanks...
  24. Pauliina, I'm not sure if I've had a IgE test. I've had the skin prick test and nothing showed up. ISG, My sinuses get bad too when I eat wheat, but they also do this with sugar or dairy as well, so I think it's a fungal thing going on in the sinuses. My ears also "pop" and ache when I eat wheat, but never had the numb chin or lips. Itchy throat...
  25. Thank You for your responses RWG and Pauliina. I really think I have gone gluten free over the past 2 years for 3 months or more and added it back with the same results as what I experienced today and sometimes don't get much of a reaction at all, sooooo confused. I also had a Metametrix IgG Food Antibodies test done around the same time last year...
