  1. Dear Melmak5, When I was into my 5th month(now 7)glutenfree, I had those horrible pains, some reflux, where I had to pop a few nexium, stomach and rib pain. I still poop strangely. I don't understand why we have those never ending ones either. I have never seen anything like it. I still get the same pains, but no where like they were. Did you...
  2. Thank you all for your recipes, I wil be experimenting with them all. I live on Long Island, and next week we will be taking the kids to the east end for pumpkin and apple picking. I can smell the pies cooking now. Janet
  3. I was wondering if someone has a wonderful recipe for crumbs that I can use to make pie, or cobblers? With fall here I want to be able to bake all of those goodies Thanks, Janet
  4. Dear Ravenwoodglass, Hello and welcome, you have come to a great place for info and also for support. I am so glad that this was found early in you. My family wasn't so lucky as you can tell by my signature. You remind me, of me....I am just a few years younger than you, but I have been sick since I was little. Constant fevers, migraines,...
  5. Hello Mary, The number for "The Really Great Food Company" is 800-593-5377. But like I said, you can go to the website, www.reallygreatfood.com so you can see the food, then call to order. This company even has ice cream cones that are so yummy. Imagine, an ice cream cone, you almost feel like a regular person. I just made their cinnamon...
  6. I have been gluten free for 7 months now. I also get the slight stomach/rib pain/intestinal cramping, but I agree, not as bad as it once was. When it was at its worst, the pain in my stomach was so bad I couldn't leave my top under garment(trying to put it gently) on, I had to lie down with the heating pad on. This also helped with the rib pain. Who knows...
  7. I'm curious also...When my son(now22) was 5 days old, he stopped breathing. Thanks to my mom, who was a nurse, she did cpr on him, and got him breathing. It seemed forever til the ambulance came, I don't think he would have survived. The Dr claimed he was allergic. Growing up, he had projectile vomiting, never slept and had a chronic cough(up until this...
  8. I'm not really sure what that means please let me know what you would like me to do Janet
  9. Hello Carla, Yesterday I took the most oregano oil ever. First it burnt my mouth Then, about 20 minutes later I had to run to the bathroom.......Wow, it's so potent. But the worst, was this morning. I woke up to rippling gas pains, that went up my back. It made my stomach feel like a knife was sticking in it. I had to eat a little something, and...
  10. Ohhh, ok I voted. Both my pinkies fall belo w the joint...Janet
  11. I would participate also, I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at. Do you mean that the top of your pinky has to come below the joint of your ring finger? That doesn't sound right...Is that what you mean? That would be only a little stub coming out of your hand? Let me know, Janet
  12. Hello Mary, There is a food company called "Really good food company". It is located in St James, NY. But they deliver everywhere. You can google it, so you can see what products are available. Their foods are out of this world. Their cakes are the best. If you are interested, when I get home from work, I will write back and to tell you the phone...
  13. It is time for some blood work to be done, probaly next week. The amazing thing about celiacs, is that since I have gone gluten free, my hasimotos is kind of at a stand still. I still have the antibodies, but my TSH has stabilized. Sounds crazy, I know. So the blood work should be interesting, but I still get nervous at the results...Janet
  14. Wow, Tom, what an answer....Am I more confused than ever?? NO, I am not seeing a health care professional because, for years, I have been roaming from one Dr to another, but this last year and a half has been the worst. When I started with rib pain, and burning reflux, I was just given nexium. I had to pull a tantrum to get a referral to see a GI who did...
  15. Hello Tom, Are you saying that it took you 4 years to come out of that brain fog?? Also when you were at your worst, did your muscles bother you, and also the front of your neck muscles? I can't figure out why sometimes when I lean against a counter my guts feel sore. Do you think this is detoxing from the candida? Has this ever happened to you? I...
  16. With myself the bloating lasted months. It wasn't with all foods. I think while your guts are healing, other food might bother you also. This might not be forever, but just for the time being. I also don't think that the blood work is very accurate. Maybe you might want to look into getting a DNA kit from enterolab. This way you will know if you carry...
  17. KC mastetpiece is gluten free, thats the one that I use, and also Kraft bbq sauce. Did anyone notice how helpful and nice various companies are when you call to question if their product contains gluten?? Usually they offer me free coupons for different products. Janet
  18. Hello Blair, Yes, I also have systemic candida, which causes a host of problems. They include, muscle and joint pain. At one time, when I got out of bed, my arm was in such pain, I had to help lift it. brain fog, headaches, body rashes, canker sores, hormone problems, and the list goes on and on. It's amazing what it does to you, and it is closely linked...
  19. Yellow Rose, Do you have muscle weakness also? Three months after going gluten free, I was feeling very weak still. I was swimming in a pool, and when I tried to climb the ladder, I almost couldn't pull myself up. I panicked. Now, when I go up and down the stairs(8 1/2months gluten free), my legs get tired still. I guess it takes a long time for muscles...
  20. Tom, Thank you for your encourgement, I like that. I actually bought the book, which will be arriving today. I am eager to begin, or really understand what i must do. I'm ready to roll. Carla, I think that today I will try the shot glass, and then keep trying different things just to get it down. But yesterday was a real eye opener lol, I just...
  21. Carla, Oh my goodness...I picked up the oregano oil today. I also gagged when I took it. It is so potent. Do you have any suggestions on how to make it go down a little easier? I am really counting on this to work on the candida. This truly is the last resort. I wouldn't know what else to do. Thanks, Janet
  22. Yellow Rose, I get tears in my eyes when I see postings like yours. I have days where I just don't think that I am going to make it through. I have been gluten free for 6 1/2 months, and some things are better, so are not. Sometimes I am afraid to wake up (that is if by some chance I slept the night before), I never know what new thing I am going to find...
  23. Well Tom, I am trying my best with the diet. I don't believe that I know all the the diet rules. I am going to stop at the library tomorrow to see if I can get a book called "the candida connection". Did you ever hear of it?? I know that I have said this before, but I am soooo tired of feeling this way. Carla, Also on my way home I am picking the...
  24. Carla, What do you know about oregano oil? Also, do you feel that it really works, and how long after you notice a difference? I am having such a hard time with candida, and I am taking the threelac which I felt that i really was helping. But the past few days I have feeling really crummy. I get crazy because I have no idea if I was glutened, or is...
  25. OH MY GOODNESS MARGARET.....I swear I also can feel my intestines, what is that all about? You are the first person who I have seen write that, and I am so glad that you did. I have been gluten free for six months now, but my insides feel strange. I also have joint and muscle pain which comes and goes. Something tells me this will be a forever thing...
