  1. Aww, Ami I am so sorry. Sending good thoughts your way. Well, we are still not going to the LLMD tomorrow. My mom wants to go the GI Dr which is a consult, I am assuming she is going to order tests to make sure there is nothing going on inside of me. We are going to wait until we get all of the results back over the next 2 weeks and then see the LLMD...
  2. Morgan, Hello! I have never "met" you, but I have talked to your mom on the phone...she is really sweet! She talked about you and your homeschool experience, it's a long story but I have started online school because of medical stuff (possible Lyme) and I was influenced largely by your moms ideas. Andrea, That is right...it is mostly insurance...
  3. We just got a call from my hematologist. My ferritin is at 4. It's low, but I thought it would be lower. He wants to go through with the Iron IV's, I think starting Monday...not sure. (brain fog, can't remember anything!) He is now saying it might be a problem to get a PICC line because they are about $2000, so he is wanting to go ahead without one. He also...
  4. Julie, I am going to ask for it for the holidays! My wish list this year is going to be funny...raw almonds, raw cocoa...etc. Kassandra
  5. Carla, I think it makes sense too! We are waiting to hear back from my GP and we are going to get in to see him tomorrow hopefully. That shall be one interesting appointment... Shadow, I am sorry to hear about your appt. I get the whole being "fired." It does suck! I have no idea why my docotors are moving so slowly...I guess we'll find out soon...
  6. Carla, I think Lyme is the basis of almost all of my problems. At this point, I care what is causing them, but I do think the iron needs to be taken cared of right away! I think traveling may have pushed me over the edge. We also have to pay for the LLMD out of pocket, so we don't want to have to see him every couple weeks because it will be expensive...
  7. Carla, I guess my mom wants the results of the GI stuff and she wants the Iron to be under control before we go. We don't want to have to go to him again after we see him to bring the results from tests, etc. I want to go to him asap, but if my mom doesn't want to, I don't really have too much say in the matter. I actually just got a phone call from...
  8. Lol. Me too! I am interested in getting Alissa Cohen's, but I may hold off for now. Kassandra
  9. LOL. Rum does make everything better...lol. I am soy free, so I can't do Braggs either. We actually had a really similar dinner...zucchini with tomatoe sauce (all raw). It was really good. Not the same as cooked, but still really good. I also made an apple pie yesterday which I have been munching on since then. Kassandra Do you have Alissa...
  10. Nope. They wouldn't sign off for the Igenex test. No Dr. would and since the most recent one I saw was a "director of well being" he has no medical degree so Igenex won't accept his signature. We can try to get my GP to sign off, but I just worry that they have "lost" my blood by now. lol. We should be able to get into my GP on Thursday. Since my schedule...
  11. Carla, Thanks. Rachel, NO! I don't think you talk a lot!!! I just meant that it was quiet over the weekend and you were gone also...both combined made for a quiet OMG thread weekend. LOL!!! I actually am really starting to be sensitive to chemicals. We bought a new laundry detergent and it is so strong I need to re wash my clothes because...
  12. Jin, It is possible I have an enzyme deficiency, but I think a lot of people go through this with raw and cooked foods. Carla, So we got a packet from the LLMD's office with forms and info packets. They ask us to write the reffering physician's name and info. My concern is I haven't been in touch much with my GCP. Should I still put his name on...
  13. I am actually about 95% raw. I really like it. I was all raw yesterday and I then ate gluten-free toast and I got bloated right away! It was really crazy. I am jealous of your vitamix!!! We have a Cuisinart, but that's nothing compared to a vitamix. How much was yours? Kassandra
  14. I am just interested to see if anyone on this message board follows a raw foods diet? I am not talking about raw meat or eggs, I mean nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies. Anyone? Kassandra
  15. Sarah, I know. It is ridiculous. The main reason they aren't TOOOOO worried is because I am not driving or going to school. If I was going to school, they would have probably hospitalized me by now. My hematologist said if the insurance won't cover the PICC line or the IV's (they didn't last time) he will admit me for 10 days. I hope we don't have to do...
  16. Andrea, That's right...no IV's until later this week or early next week. The thing is that he won't put the PICC line in until we get the blood work back, so at this point, I am sitting waiting for Friday to come. But then we are supposed to drive up north for the LLMD appt. At this point, I am worried too...what happens if we drive up north and get labwork...
  17. Carla, Sorry. You must have been posting when I was posting. I am sorry you feel yucky, but I am glad you had a nice time!!! You deserved it!! Kassandra
  18. Hello All. Today I went to the hematologist and we talked about what we are going to do. They took 4 vials of blood!!!! I don't know that that was a good thing since I am so low anyway...lol. We told him the last results when my ferritin was 4 and he was very surprised because it was so low again. We will call back on Thursday and he will call us on...
  19. Paula, A good milk is hemp milk. I can't do soy, gluten, dairy or nuts, so it's great! I hope this helps! Kassandra Edit: I just saw what you said. I don't use frosting because I have been too lazy to figure one out, but I read somewhere that you could just use powdered sugar with milk (hemp milk...?) and mix them together and then just drizzle...
  20. I jsut wanted to say. There is someone on this board who had a Gluten Intolerance (NOT celiac) and it was a product of another health problem. Now that she has "fixed" the other problem, she is able to eat gluten. She told me that it is NOT as good as she remembers...at all! I thought this might help. Personally, I think I get more bummed about the other...
  21. Paula, I LOVE namaste spice cake mix with carrot cake option (add about 1 cup of shredded carrots and golden raisins) it is SO GOOD! Also, Pamela's bite size ginger snap cookies. I thought Ktoos had soy in them?? Am I wrong? Kassandra
  22. Just a quick update...I am officially enrolled in Keystone National High School. It *is* fully accredited and meets CA state standards, so that won't be a problem. I am very excited about the decision we have made, I feel good about everything. Thank you for all your help. Hathor, I am in LA and the UC's are tricky. But even they will accept Keystone...
  23. Jin, That's a good idea. I love wrapping gifts...my favorite part of the holidays!! Everyone, I am going to go to the bookstore tonight and look at raw diet food books. I want to look into this. I know someone who has Lyme and she is on a raw diet and she LOVES it. It may be helpful with the detox process. Kassandra
  24. Andrea, I know. I don't know if I am truly allergic to nuts. I don't know if you remember, but awhile ago, I had some gluten-free trader joe's granola and just picked out the nuts because I didn't want the extra fat content. Then soon after I had freeze dried mango and I broke out in hives, bumps in my mouth, etc. It was terrible, but Rachel and others...
