  1. I think some good points are being made here. I'd like to find a source that evaluates vegetables in terms of the type of starch in them. I think the principle in the BTVC about the inability to break down complex bonds in carbs makes sense, at least with my own testing. (Stool tests that show this is going through undigested). But like some of you, I...
  2. Are you still feeling better Kassandra? Have you figured out what is helping?
  3. My guess on the time is that it is similar to going gluten-free, where the villi has to heal and restore. That takes 1-2 years, probably no different with this. I have a high risk genotype that is associated with slow healing. I got better on gluten-free but apparently it wasn't enough. Bugs and parasites can be extremely persistent. I am not eating...
  4. Well after next week there won't be any blueberries for me when I leave the USA again for 6 months. No blueberries where I live. No bananas for me either, I'm allergic. I'll be able to get some fresh peaches, and then apples. I'll keep the saccarhine in mind, I really dislike it but will try if need be. I'll keep the journal in mind too after I relocate...
  5. I don't play mah jong but you see people all over in China playing it during leisure hours. They gamble though with it, so it is often a source of concern or conflict with families as there can be an addiction and family finances lost.
  6. Good! When you get well, you'll have to come to China and visit--and study! Sherry
  7. Yes, although in Taiwan they use phonetic symbols rather than romanized like mainland China. They can write to each other but only using characters, not the phonetics. All the dialects can read the characters, but each dialect would have different phonetics. Mandarin has four tones plus a neutral, Taiwanese has 8, Cantonese has 10. Not sure about the...
  8. I took TF but what you say makes sense; I quit last winter when it didn't test well on ART. Yep, Chinese is pictographal; so the numbers reflect the number of strokes in 1-5. The original writing was even more close to the object, but has been stylized over the years so you often now have to have it explained to understand the picture. Then from there...
  9. I'm curious if it has to do with Vitamin D from the summer sun, given that you previously were so deficient and haven't been supplementing. I'd follow through on that and make sure you keep that level up, as it impacts the immune system. I think it helps regulate autoimmune too. Sherry
  10. Birdy, I don't know. I haven't had LED so don't have any sense. Carla, that's super. I hope it holds.
  11. Ha ha, their keyboards look just like ours! Well, the Taiwanese have keyboards with alphanumeric symbols plus some phonetic symbols that they use. But the mainland uses a romanized system to identify the pronounciation of characters. There are a number of input methods available for the computer; I use the easiest which just uses the same keyboard as I...
  12. Hmm. I better mention this to my LLMD on Monday. I now have an appointment due to the Vit D questions. Chinese use both. I'll insert the Chinese numbers and see if they'll show up 一 二 三 四 五 六 , that's 1 to 6. For math they use arabic numbers usually. Sherry
  13. Thanks I have been extremely careful to follow the book, did the intro for 5 days, and have added things gradually. Still no raw, using the muffins though via Elaine's protocol for constipation. The only raw fruit I have used is blueberries, and I have ground them up in the blender with the yogurt. That is the only exception I have made to following the...
  14. Yes I am making my own SCD yogurt with goat milk. Today I didn't have any yogurt but got a headache after dinner. Then had yogurt later and no symptoms. There isn't a consistent response I guess.
  15. That's pretty much what I am feeling a bit more lately. Yours gets worse when the treatment is working? Sherry
  16. Probably I do need to cut back honey. The honey really helps me stay with this though, as it satisfies a lot. I'm just having trouble determining what I tolerate and what I don't. I did bloat immediately after a yogurt and blueberry smoothie I made tonight with some honey. That's about the only symptom I get that is digestive. I don't know how to tell...
  17. Interesting about the motorcycle, that is our means of transportation when I am at "home" in China. I am just the rider and don't go that often, my DH often does errands for me by himself. I do notice a lot of aching when I go and stiffness, just figured it was the roughness and thin seat. Carla and Kassandra when you get sweats from the babs, do you...
  18. Me, too. Especially when I get out of bed in the morning. Sherry
  19. Nancy, my doctor just ordered the SAM/SAH and ammonia levels from that lab. I don't know what the full panel includes. Sherry
  20. Nancy, it shouldn't have taken so long. It looks like the test was run about 2.5 weeks after the blood draw. Not sure when it actually arrived at my doctor's office but the lab took a 3 week vacation and my doctor took a 2 week vacation and it somehow got lost in there, came in and was put in my chart with my doc's signature but I didn't get a copy until...
  21. Any of you not tolerate honey?
  22. That's me. My ft3 is right in the middle but TSH is very low. My LLMD is pleased with it, other doctors always want to cut way back on my T3 but I ignore them, LOL! Nora, this is very interesting. I was on LDN for several months but it didn't seem to do anything so my LLMD said to quit.
  23. Andrea, I am so sad about that! I know those bills have been such a burden for you. Also I know you have been looking forward to these appointments for months. Sherry
  24. Well, it turns out my SAM/SAH results were done a whole month ago...apparently they were filed in my chart without giving me a copy and weren't found when they looked for me I guess.... My doctor marked them as being OK though they are out of range on the lab range. I need to see if I can figure anything out from them. I picked up my Vitamin D levels...
  25. For me it is usually either Lyme or a detox issue. I push my binders plus do epsom salt baths, ecoffee, etc. Sherry
