AnneM replied to earthtoneNJ's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
When i was first diagnosed with Celiac, i was told by the gastros assistant of my disease, she was explaining to me exactly what it was, and how it was going to change my life, and she then she went on to say "you can't eat wheat anymore, but it's not that bad, you can still eat potato bread". Well i went grocery shopping all excited thinking hey i like... -
I have had 2 saliva gland infections, not sure what caused them, but they sure are painful, i took Keflex and they went away. I heard a report on tv lately that said if you take an acid reflux med daily for at least one year you are prone to get more infections, and i have been on Prilosec now for 4 yrs, since my celiac diagnosis. I have had a few infections...

ARCHIVED Celiac And H. Pylori
AnneM replied to mlarson's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I had H-pylori 4 yrs ago, i am allergic to penicillin, so my dr gave me a combination of different antibiotics to get rid of it. It was a grueling time taking all those pills for 2 weeks, but it was well worth it. I personally only had a yeast infection from the treatment. I was told once you have H-pylori and treat it you can never get it again, so that... -

Are you kidding me???? I would never knowingly put anything in my mouth that had gluten in it. I can't understand why in the world you would even consider doing that. I think of gluten as poison, because that is exactly what it is POISON. There are so many good foods that we can eat, I don't even miss the gluten filled food. You really need to realize...

From the moment i was told i had Celiac disease, i never put another crumb of gluten in my mouth. I look at it this way, gluten is POISON to my body, how can anyone knowingly eat poison? This is how i can remain gluten free. I find substitutes for the food that i used to love, if you do that it is easier for you. My husband eats pizza in front of me, but...

I eat Amys frozen dinners with no problems at all. I also eat Jimmy Deans breakfast bowls and entrees, they are so yummy and safe, never got sick from eating them. Aunt Jemima makes a breakfast too, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, or with sausage, they are safe to eat and very good. Jimmy Dean also makes a breakfast skillet you add eggs to if you want, it makes... -
I had a colectomy in June, I had a foot of my colon removed and then reattached. I won't lie, it was a very grueling thing to go through. I had diverticulitis also. The days before surgery, the cleansing, the antibiotics, no food, it was very hard. My surgery lasted 5 hours and i was hospitalized for 5 days after. Don't worry about what you can eat after...

I bought the pizza crust....and wow...it was so good! It is the best pizza I have had in almost 3 yrs. I bought a loaf of bread, and it was so good also, I am very impressed and excited, it is wonderful...

There is a gluten free bakery that just opened in Toledo, Ohio. It is called Pure Bakery, they only make gluten free so there is no risk of cross contamination. I bought a loaf of bread and a pizza crust, it was so good! They also have cookies, and they bake cakes to order. So very exciting to actually walk into a bakery that I can pick out anything I want...

I was making my tacos with Gluten Free Pantry Tex Mex, but I discovered they stopped making it..ugh! It was my favorite too! I loved Pasta Fagoli too, they stopped making that also I have only looked at one packet at the store, and it contained wheat. I was wondering what taco seasonings are gluten free and good if any?

Thank you so very much, but i still have my colon, dr removed the diseased part and reattached it, he took out 12 inches. I guess my hospital stay wasn't all that bad, just the part about the nutritionist, it is rather scary when someone who is supposed to be an expert in food nutrition says that to you, it's an eye opening experience to say the least. I...

I have been away for awhile as I had a diverticulitis attack and was hospitalized overnight. My dr said I needed a colectomy. So on June 5th I had the operation and he removed my appendix also. When I was in the hospital and they started me on solid foods, I was very scared of being glutened even though hey I was in the hospital and they of all people should...
