When people ask me what I use instead of (wheat) flour, I've always told them . . . you can grind anything up and make flour out of it . . . then sell it for a sh!tload of money at a health food store.   11. Yep, I got me some aphids, too, on me honeysuckle. I was just doing some research . . . don't know if ladybugs will be as effective on scale. I believe they DO prefer aphids . . . taste like chicken, you know.

  18. I believe the general rule of thumb for a recipe is . . . sub a starch for a starch and a flour for a flour. For example, if you can't do tapioca starch, try potato or corn starch. I think the exceptions might be potato flour (too heavy of a flour) and maybe coconut flour (I haven't used this but I think they recommend that it's not the "main" flour but...

  20. It's been hit or miss. When I find it, I stock up. I think I have found it most often at superWalMarts. Also, its "Creamy Mushroom" soup. It has recognizeable pieces of mushroom . . . . . . . . . which means at MY house, I have to actually puree it in a blender first so they don't know what they are eating in the casserole
