  1. The Tinkyada pasta that Shay mentioned is great . . . our whole family eats it and there is only one celiac. It comes in a variety of shapes, including one called little dreams (or something like that) that has stars, cars, rockets, dogs, etc . . . really geared toward a kid . . . so it automatically tastes better My daughter eats the Back to Nature...
  2. Susie . . . no . . . it's not the job keeping me away . . . just a little "life" going on here. Actually, I'm still reading, just not posting. Some of these "life" things deflate me silly gland for a while. Things are looking up though, had a very successful meeting this morning with a couple of me son's teachers today. I filled them in on what has...
  3. See now . . . I consider this taunting . . . makes me want to know WHO and WHAT . . . and WHO??? I musta been a cat in a previous life . . . and curiousity killt me. Long day . . . job part was phine . . . the rest of it had problems but I don't even want to think about it right now . . . and yes, daughter has a new toaster for breakfast. ...
  4. Not startin' off good here, people!!! My first day at work and to get things going, I put a regular bagel in my daughter's toaster. Then proceded to cc her container of cream cheese. Now I have to run to target tonight to replace hers . . . thing they'll let me test drive them to find one that doesn't sound like a squirrel jumping on a metal screen?? ...
  5. Man!!!! When you put it like that, Lisa, we're damn phunnie!!!
  6. Is it possible to see if she can transfer into or get on a waiting list for one of the dorm suites for this year . . . there always seems to be a student fall out rate in the beginning. I think it would be much easier if she could be in control of her own food. Celiac disease is covered by the ADA. If she has an official diagnosis, I believe they are required...
  7. Having worked in the auto industry on a fairly highly automated production line, I know they have printer/labelers that can easily be changed (say at the beginning of a batch run). The main packaging would remain the same and then a small sticker/label is applied with the extra info, or depending on the item, just stamped or printed directly on the item...
  8. I think it's the . . . O Gawd, what did my manager get me into??!!! He said it was a top modelling gig!!!! Well, at least this piece of crap won't last long. In a couple of months, nobody will ever see this picture again!! I think it's hilarious that they try to make the woman look like she can sit in them and she obviously can't . . . a casual leeeeaaaaaannn...
  9. Stumbled across this on youtube . . . it's long but heelarryus Open Original Shared Link
  10. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROFLMeArseO . . . the dog ate the evidence!!! I took a couple of pottery classes . . . still got a couple of the best "pots" (still not that great, but the best I could do). It was a lot of fun. I should do that again.
  11. leeirons, The allergy meds wouldn't affect the celiac biopsy. However, I don't know if it would affect a biopsy for Eosinophilic Esophagitis or not. I'm not sure if you were thinking about that but since I brought up EE in your other thread, I thought I would mention it here. Maybe someone else will know if it would affect a biopsy for EE.
  12. What!!??!! . . . You don't find THIS conversation fun and stimulating!!??!! . . . . . . Now if you had said intellectual and mature . . . THAT I could understand needing to go elsewhere to obtain . . .
  13. The blood work does look suspicious and kudos to your doctor for recognizing the IgA deficiency and knowing that the rest of the numbers are not valid. The endoscopy does offer some other chances to check out a few other possibilities. My daughter (age 6 at the time) had acid reflux, was put on prevacid which helped but didn't entirely resolve her issues...
  14. I wanted to add that I wouldn't use that for my daughter either. We are diligent in our gluten/gluten-free segregation. I don't ever think "well, that little slip won't hurt her". I just assume that over this amount of time, she would have been cc'd somewhere down the line. She's not always in my sight and there is a 9 year old gluten eating brother involved...
  15. You know, if my kids were the same age as the kids I'd be working with, I wouldn't have been able to handle it. I'll be working with 2 1/2 to 3 year olds . . . not anything like my 7 and 9 year olds . . . and there's the other three days/week to do important stuff like surfing the net for yeti jokes.
  16. Yep, that sounds like you all right!! Let me know if you get it and my next visit to my friend's house, will come take yer tour . . . OK . . . I have a confession . . . I got a job . . . besides the temporary Queen gig, that is. Tuesday is my first day. I'm working at a preschool from 8:30 to 1:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The pay is crap but the...
  17. I think my daughter fits your description. Since going gluten free (17 months now), she's only had one reaction. It happened at school. It was something that had been allright (per the dietician) and then midyear the distributer changed suppliers on their "corn chips". The new corn chips listed wheat as an ingredient. This is the only time that we know...
  18. Oh Sarah . . . you deserve a decent day . . . I hope you start racking them up, now. You are a strong women, you'll be just fine and dandy after you've traveled this rough road. . . we sillies all know it . . . you should listen to us, we are smartasses!!! (ok, yeah, probably smartasses, too)
  19. Sarah . . . so good to hear from you . . . and you deserve a bit of eye-candy if anyone does. Hope they gave you some good drugs for yer bronchitis . . . and that coughing/peeing thing only gets worse as you get older. They say bowling kegling is good for that though!!
  20. YaY!!! . . . Good Luck and let us know how it goes!!
  21. Well . . . you can tell from your av that he's very photogenic . . . don't let it go to his head, he'll want his own dressing room, drink only bottled water, hire an agent, etc . . . . . . congrats!
  22. . . . so that between us all, we can find one pair of matching shoes??? OK, Lisa . . . this was the closest thing I can find. You can see what Elmira looks like and she just starts "the hug you" part at the verrrrrrry end Open Original Shared Link
  23. What about using a few mini-chocolate chips instead of crumbled cookies?
  24. Great Value Brand (Wal-Mart) gummy worms are OK . . . and say gluten free on the package by the ingredient/labeling info. I'll have to think about the cookies.
