  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Cookie dough is such a comfort food for a girl! Just like big carton of ice cream and chocolate when your heart has been broken. I am glad to hear that there are dough's out there that don't taste nasty, when I am craving that fix for cookie dough.
  3. I have a bag of Reese's miniatures right in front of me and they appear to be gluten free. No mention of any gluten-free ingredients or being processed on shared facilities.
  4. I know exactly what you mean. :-) I was making cookies and LOVE cookie dough, so after I put in the chocolate chips, took a big old bite, and it was the grossest thing I have ever tasted. I thought I was going to throw up. I thought maybe I just got a bad bag, b/c I had heard Bob's was so good. I chugged a whole can of pop and still couldn't get the awful...
  5. My new favorite thing is General Mills - Trix cereal. I also really like quaker rice cakes with PB, and Van's waffles, with syrup and butter.
  6. Yah, it was great. I used to live there and go to Chipotle on a weekly basis, most times more and have never had a problem of getting CC'd. I always get the steak fajita bowl, and chips with guacamole. At Noodles & Company, I got the pesto with Rice noodles, it was WONDERFUL!!!
  7. I agree. Definitely say "severe food allergy". I know for me it helps get their attention, and they are way more helpful to adapt to my needs. If I say "gluten intolerance" they usually don't know what the heck I am talking about and therefore, blow it off as not a big deal. Even if after I say "severe food allegy" and they have that deer in a head lights...
  8. I had such an amazing weekend and did not feel like a "loser" with Celiac Disease like I usually do. In the small town I live in, there are no restaurants with gluten free menus, and most of the time it's just easier not to eat out, than to take the chance, and usually end up getting sick. Not this weekend though. I went to Omaha for the weekend and...
  9. When the doctor tells you that you have Celiac Disease then his next sentence is....It's ok though to still eat whatever you want. If you get sick it doesn't matter just don't eat for a little bit and you'll be o.k. What sad, is b/c he was my doctor and I had never hear the word gluten before that visit, I continuted eating "whatever" for the next 5 years...
  10. If something says "natural flavors" are we not supposed to eat it? What are the other "hidden" terms to look for? Thanks, Bobbi (this might explain a lot!!!!)
  11. Thanks a bunch! I will be sure to check it out.
  12. have you had bad experiences with them? Applebees are usually very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to cook my food. I always give the manager there, Christy, a big tip. This is the first time I have had trouble. Also, have you had problems with Arby's? I guess I like to eat out so much that it is hard for me to think I have to avoid places. So anyone...
  13. Chipotle is my FAVORITE place to eat. I recently moved to a small town but when I lived in Omaha, I ate there SEVERAL times a week! The steak fajita bowl with sour cream and a side of chips and guac is my favorite. Since then I have gone 100% gluten free and no longer "cheat" once in a while, so I don't know if the chips are gluten-free. Anybody know...
  14. Definitely apologize and be completely honest. I think by not responding and not trying to make things right will just make things fester. That would really make him think that you don't care and confirm in his mind what he is already thinking, by your comment, that you really do feel that way. We are all human and we all make mistatkes. Make your actions...
  15. I have been very bitter that I have this stupid disease. I yell at it all the time, telling it how much I hate it and how stupid it is and why did I have to get the stupid disease. Most of the time I just want to be normal, be able to eat out with my friends and family w/out asking a 1000 questions. My family not having to "de-gluten" their house just for...
  16. Hi All, I have a question. I thought last weekend that I might have been CC'd by a salad at Applebees or Arby's as I "thought" I was eating safe all weekend but then felt like crap Sunday afternoon. Not sure if it was from the salad Friday night or Sunday at lunch. All week though, I have felt exhausted and kind of "brain Fog". I am so tired I can...
  17. Dove products are gluten free if you buy store-brand shampoo and conditioner. I have never used them b/c I just use salon products, but Dove says they are gluten free and I have seen it on the boards several times. i just went through the same boat over labor day weekend. I had to go through my entire house; cleanign supplies, fingernail polish, make...
  18. I emailed my Mary Kay rep and she sent me the ingriedients to the make-up I use. If anyone is interested. Sorry, it's not an extensive list, just the items I use, but they are pretty common. If you are a "Celiac" Expert, or just plain more knowlegeable than me, please take a look and tell me if you see any "red flags" in any of the ingredients. As far...
  19. I buy "cookies" bbq sauce which can be found at your local walmart. It says gluten free right on the bottle, and it tastes similar to Famous Dave's which was my favorite prior to being dxd.
  20. I go to DQ on a weekly basis. There webiste lists a bunch of gluten-free items. My favorite is the mint m&m blizzard. Just make sure you have them clean the machine first to help with CC. I would recommend you check out their homepage online, it is awesome for listing all of the gluten free items.
  21. I have about 5 different antibacterial lotion soaps, deep cleansing gel soaps, and foam soaps, and as far as I can tell by the ingredients they are gluten free. I love bath and body works!!! I just use salon hair products, so I am not sure there, and I use dove body wash. But hopefully that gives you some ideas.
  22. I buy Oscar Mayer Shaves lunch meats, like turkey breast - mesquite flavored but they have ham and stuff too. I know the mesquite turkey, none of the ingredients stand out to me as having gluten and I have never had a reaction. I haven't look at the ham, but I also know the chicken is o.k. too. Hope it works for you! :-)
  23. Here are a couple of my favorites and they freeze really well. I always make up a big batch over the weekend and then freeze them and heat it up over my lunch break for a quick and easy meal. Cuban-Style Pork and Sweet Potato Slow Cooker Stew 1 large sweet potato(es), peeled and cut into 1/2-inch dice (about 1 lb) 1 pound lean pork loin, cut into ...
  24. Ok...this is going to make me look really dumb, but that's o.k. I am new to the board and am trying to read posts, but am always getting a little confused, b/c I feel like there is a "secret" language that I have never learned. What the heck is MIL, DD, DH, and all of ther short abbreviates stand for? Is there a manual somewhere! I just feel so stupid...
  25. I notice that my face looks red alot like I have been sunburned or maybe am blushing. I never thought of it as being glutened! Do you guys think that is what it could be? I didn't use my face wash, Cetaphil, today b/c I thought maybe that's what it was, but it still looks red. I have been hungrier this week too, but I just thought it was a diet thing b/c...
