It's coming up on Christmas time and I, along with the rest of the family, have a hankering for cookies, especially sugar cookies. Unfortunately, we've had to cut out dairy, soy, and coconut/palm oils out of our diets as well. Anyone have some advice for substitutes? Applesauce? Oils? Just smelling them?

Thank you so much for that excellent advice, Carla. I'm going to print out as much as I can about Cowden, read it, and then try to arrange a time to sit down with her tomorrow and work out a clearly defined, written plan. I thought we had a plan before, but apparently not. I have an appointment at the beginning of February with the LLMD. As he only... -

happygirl, Thank you for the clarification! Right, the thing I'm worrying about is that she's taking that to mean that abx really doesn't. Probably me overreacting, but in response to the section where she says, "I did not want to go on long term antibiotics because they can leave you with more problems." Mom responded (I didn't put this in... -

Thank you so much Andrea and Carla (and everyone else)! I just posted it in the Lyme thread, but took out most of the comments Mom made on it, only one was important. -

Just to summarize something from the OMG thread so this makes sense. My Mother (trying to be helpful) contacted someone whose acupuncturist put them on an herbal protocol for Lyme. Mom is advocating that we exhaust every alternative/herbal thing before we consider using abx, and I disagree for many reasons. I'm posting this to ask for information regarding... -

Borst, I hope your appointment went well! What you should bring up depends a lot on the doctor and how receptive he/she is. Since you've been reading for a bit, I assume you asked about SBBO, etc. Please let us know how it went! Kassandra, Lovely tree! I just might have to get one of those myself. Apparently last year my Mom and sister decided... -

Borst, It definitely sounds like you're dealing with something in addition to Celiac: candida, bacterial overgrowth, metals, lyme, other allergies, etc. And welcome to the OMG thread! Good luck with your dr referring you to a naturopath! To have a change with a positive celiac dx from the biopsy you need to be on at least 4 grams of gluten... -

Nyxie, I've used ionic foot baths in the past with a lot of success. It reduced a lot of knee/hip pain I was having due to heavy metals. The only thing to watch out for is that it draws out the good minerals as well as the bad. I'm going to start doing them again when I do the humaworm. Everyone, Thank you for the support. I had another reaction... -

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I've started to reacting to 5 new foods in the past two days (corn, dairy, lamb, pork, buckwheat). Sorry for being so negative, but this has been a comparatively bad few days. :( -

Kassandra, Yay on the PICC line!!! :D I also have terrible dandruff. Recently I've acquired a DH-like rash on my elbows, wrists, and calves. Maybe that could be Lyme as well. My Mom and I also don't get along very well. We're way too similar personality-wise, creates a lot of conflicts. Everyone, The past few days have not been good... -

Carla, Thanks for the reminder about patience. A strong point of mine it is... not! Kassandra, That is simply beyond ridiculous what your doctors are doing. Don't they see that a seriously ill patient of there is suffering because of their pettiness! Good for you and your Mom for writing to them! My Mom got a book out of the library today... -

Again, just responding to what stuck in my teflon-esque brain. Julie, Major hugs, , and lots of prayers for you as you're going through this. I'm so sorry. Kassandra, I get some mild D from cashews and it usually has that color . But that's only when I approach Racheling them. Also, that "you may be a lymie" list was hilarious! I tried to... -

Thank you so much for that explination, Rachel! It makes much more sense now. The weekend was very fun, I spent it all with friends, and I'm almost certain it was worth it. I know what you mean about the perfume. Macy's is the worst store since its perfume section is right there at the front! I always seem to get caught behind a stroller when... -

Hello Everyone, I spent 6hrs out on Saturday and 3hrs out on Sunday, and I am completely wiped out. So just a flyby post for now. Rachel, I've been tested for the metals and parasites using TBM (kinesthesiology). The only things I can come up with are either my body doesn't want to deal with them now, or I could have a toxic burden of pesticides... -

Oh my goodness, I never would've thought of this. That might explain some things. I've never used pantyliners, but have used Always for ages and ages (need those wings) and have always had hormonal problems. Of course a few years ago when my flow was fairly heavy, lasted 10 days, and had 2 weeks between each time, I thought it was normal. Fortunately... -

Mia, I'm so sorry your body didn't cooperate this year for Thanksgiving. I hope it will get the memo for Christmas. Sherry, The only think to watch out for with licorice is its tendency to raise blood pressure if taken over a long time. But that's only a concern if taken daily for several months. Thanks for the resource, I'll look... -

Andrea, But would lyme cause all of those problems by itself? At this point it looks like I don't have any coinfections, at least in my intestines. I've been gluten-free three months. The naturopath has found that it would be beneficial for me to go on it for about 6wks... I'd rather not, and we need to hunt down a gluten-free natural source, but... -

Yay for normal food! Kassandra, I know what you mean, we went over to our next door neighbor's and I just brought all of our own foods. She's a nurse and was very worried about CCing our stuff (new nothing about Celiac, but it's a start!) so we put it on a different table than the rest of the food. Hopefully all of these will clear up after your lyme... -

Yes, Mom has an appointment next Tuesday, so I'll be tagging along then. Mom wanted to do diatomatius earth internally for the parasites, but I managed to convince her that we should test first, and it turns out it would just tear me apart now. Doesn't Kyolic Garlic have wheat in it? My sister jokes that I eat enough garlic to ward off an army of vampires... -
When I was younger I had an allergy to beef, but after pursuing some alternative treatments I'm fine with it.

Nope, it looks like we all escaped! The turkey was a little pink, though, and I had some from the outside and felt slightly queezy later (I'm suspecting a sip of decaf coke had more to do with than than anything else), so I was suspicious. Can't wait to hear if you see any results from this. Today I saw my naturopath, and at this point...
