  1. I will be gluten-free forever, and thats fine, but I still cannot tolerate a lot of foods. my current diet is bland and boring...usually plain chicken, brown rice, vegetables, potatoes and cereal w/ rice milk...EVERY SINGLE DAY! i am hopeful that as my gut heals i will be able to start introducing new foods back in but whenever i do now they just mess me...
  2. Nope didnt go back on gluten - ive made so much progress and according to my physician, who is a celiac specialist, the gluten challenge is "barbaric" - ive only been strict on the diet for 3 months with a few accidental glutenings here and there but the doctors all feel that they might still be able to get some idea of whats going on. the reality is i...
  3. they put me to sleep and it was fine, but ive been really bloated and my abdomen feels sore...is this normal after the procedure? can the biopsies cause the discomfort?
  4. been using Biotene but it has xylitol
  5. Not harsh at all- i have been trying to cut out gum, but im so used to chewing on it that its difficult to go cold turkey. my mouth tends to get dry & pasty when i talk and i work with people so i always need to have my mouth moist otherwise it gets uncomfortable to speak
  6. Any suggestions? Turns out i have an oral sensitivity to xylitol and normally chew orbit gum, but i have to stop are there any gums out there that dont have any artificial sweetners? Also are Tic Tacs safe for celiacs? thx
  7. I havent been diagnosed with any other conditions but I suspect I may have autoimmunity as a result of the celiac and leaky gut. Will eliminating gluten reverse the other autoimmune problems? How long do you have to be off it to improve?
  8. I read that the fermentation process breaks down the gluten. this is the one ingredient that is preventing me from chinese food so it would be fantastic if soy sauce is safe
  9. My doctor suggested I take a strong probiotic so I got some HLC Synbiotic by Pharmax. 20 min after drinking the mixed powder i got tingling in my arms and legs. I still dont know if this is a gluten-related reaction or something else, but I suspect it is gluten. The company is in the UK and clearly states the product is gluten free. the US distributors...
  10. This product is manufactured in the UK, so i dont know if those same rules apply
  11. I purchased HLC synbiotic and wanted to make sure they are gluten free. There was some debate as to whether the apricot powder is safe since it contains matodextrin. Anyone have a problem with this product?
  12. ive been very strict on the gluten-free diet for 3 months, with 2 or 3 accidental glutenings. I am going for an endoscopy in a few weeks and it was advised that i still get the blood test. IS it possible i might still have circulating antibodies for gluten and TTG?
  13. Most of the tea companies I contacted say that their teas are gluten free, but a lot of them cant guarantee that the supplier of the herbs keep their ingredients separate from gluten containing products. Has anyone had a problem with any teas in particular?

    ARCHIVED Hello

I'm not posting to complain (imagine that). I just wanted to say hello and extend a big THANK YOU to all the folks on here who have listened to me and offered some great advice...I am truly grateful for all the kindness. I know i'm not easy to deal with sometimes, but im working on that I still have bad days, but things are getting a little more tolerable...
  15. BUMP anyone try this or colostrum?
  16. Anyone here have or had Lyme Disease? If so what are the symptoms - i know the rash is common. Ive never been tested for it but am wondering if i should. I just finished a 2 week course of Alinia and oddly i felt really good when i was on it, as soon as i stopped i got fatigues and my brain fog returned - not sure what this is but it got me thinking about...
  17. Ha- yeah feeling a little better these days. I was on the edge for a while but am coming around...for now ;-) I dont really know how sensitive i am since i still dont know when i get gluten in my body. I saw a wonderful celiac specialist recently and she made me feel a lot better about eating out. she also told me that ive turned eating into a whole...
  18. I emailed the manager at my favorite Gelato shop regarding my concerns, do you guys feel it would be safe to eat there based on his response? Please see below Jason, All sorbets are gluten free. All gelato flavors that do not contain "cookie" (cannoli, cookies and cream, ginger snap, amaretto, etc.) are also gluten-free. Flavors are run on...
  19. anyone try IgG 2000 DF from Xymogen to treat leaky gut?
  20. Are the Alvita teas gluten free?
  21. Not sure if anyone knows what this is. on occasion I experience thin stools that either sink or float, but they always have a very distinct odor (kinda rancid and sulfur like). I used to associate this with gluten ingestion, but now i'm not so sure. I had them again this morning and cant remember the last time before this. only thing i ate that was different...
  22. Thanks, well I am definitely planning on sticking to the gluten-free diet but its inevitable that gluten will enter your body at some point unless you live in a bubble for the rest of your life. i guess it boils down to doing the best you can and hopefully science will give us a cure or treatment soon
  23. Is it possible to still have a long and healthy life with celiac? Im reading all these articles on how there is a much higher mortality rate for people with celiac. Is this for undiagnosed/untreated or even for people who are on a gluten free diet?
  24. Yep taking probiotics as well
