  1. Hi, I'm Cheryl and I've been sick for years. I have 6 or 7 of the diseases associated with celiac disease but my tests came up negative. I have SIBO and food allergies and my allergist (bless his heart, the only doctor that has ever tried to help me) was determined to figure out what was wrong with me. I lost my job years ago after being sick forever...
  2. Did they test you for food allergies ? I remember when I was first tested for allergies, I was allergic to trees, mold, and animal dander, in addition to foods.
  3. Have you been tested for food allergies? I'm allergic to rice, for instance and I thought I was intolerant of starches and I also react to sugars. I also can't drink tea with honey. I don't know whether it's the tea or the honey but I'm afraid to try it again after the reaction I had. Try to keep a food journal for a few days too to pinpoint what makes...
  4. @D And I was also reading about using red pepper paste as a base for pizza, never thought of mango sauce. You like it? I read about nomato sauce but it's made with carrots. I bought my teenage daughter a pizza yesterday, she was so happy , poor thing...but she has issues already. Low vitamin D, very thin, hair loss, joint pain, stomach cramping, but...
  5. @ raven....thanks so much! I would do anything to stop the migraines. And this doctor ordered 6 celiac tests...I never knew there was so many. I just always thought I was in that category of diseases that hadn't been discovered yet. :-) But I know there are alot of people who are sick and give up gluten and feel better and never get a diagnosis...Very...
  6. @ raven...I am allergic to rice, tomatoes, milk, carrots, fish (tuna, salmon, bass and catfish) and crab. I'm not dx'd yet with a gluten problem. He said I most likely had celiac although I was tested before and it came back negative, but he says the test is not accurate. I can't eat much now, so I knew I had leaky gut of some sort. I can't eat oats...
  7. Thanks D! I read also that tomato allergy is rare but I have it lol I made some things with nuts and dates and was still having issues...So not sure what was going on there.
  8. Thanks Nicole...I bought bags of rice flour, rice krisipies, rice spring roll wrappers only to find out now Im allergic to rice of all things, so for someone who can't eat wheat, it's a bit shocking.
  9. My doctor suspects I have celiac, although my blood test came back negative for celiac, the allergist now wants to do what is called aCeliac Plus test. Now however, the allergy testing showed I am allergic to rice. I was wondering if that was common thing with celiacs. I know some celiacs never seem to feel well even after going gluten free, so that...
  10. My closest Kroger is about 50 miles, darn. The only store near me is Walmart and JayC.
  11. You could try a raw icing which is made out of cashews. I can't think of anything else you could make icing out of that didn't use some form of refined sugar.
  12. I keep seeing the advertisements for these crackers but I cannot find them locally. I tried to go to Blue Diamond's web site but either it is messed up or I am. When I click on the homepage link it asks for a username and password and then says I'm not allowed to access the site. Any help appreciated!
  13. I bought the book and bought the flour. I've tried a couple of recipes and they didn't work out too good. I tried to make cookies today and the batter was so liquidy that I had to make it into a cake instead of rolling them into balls. I also made a muffin recipe and it wasn't too good either. So far I'm not having much luck. The book got great reviews...
  14. It's called Clean Eating. I just bought the second issue. There's some good ideas for clean eating. Of course, on the cover there's a picture of a pizza. Cleaneatingmag.com
  15. I buy mine online at barryfarm.com
  16. I haven't had any antibiotics in a long time so I knew the overpopulation wasn't from that exactly. But my dog has a yeast problem and she has no sugar or dairy or grains of any kind and I can't seem to get rid of her problem either. I wonder if a yeast problem is the same as SIBO? I'm a little confused about that. I ordered a yogurt maker with the...
  17. Hi Gerri, You sound a lot like me, except I tested negative for the HLA-B27. I'm 52. The best way to get a doctor to test for celiac is to go in there and tell them you have noticed that anytime you eat wheat you get symptoms. Most doctors believe that you can't have gluten problems unless you have diarrhea though. My daughter has CAPD with hyperacusis...
  18. I solved my own riddle. I took 2 motrin because of my joint pain, and within 30 mins my stomach pain was gone. So I obviously had some inflammation going on. I have stopped drinking coffee, given up everything dairy except yogurt, and all sugar except honey for awhile. I also ordered the SCD diet in the hope that I can actually heal my intestines...
  19. Chana Dal is not really a garbanzo bean but it is related. There are two types of chickpeas as explained here: Open Original Shared Link I bought an Indian book because I was so confused. I'm not sure I really am any clearer on the subject.
  20. Sacroiliitis is also a symptom of celiac disease, and Ankylosing spondylitis, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Reactive arthritis. I think the doctors have it backwards and they are all related somehow. Maybe that vitamin D deficiency. Lots of bad things can happen if your body is deficient in vitamins. My butt pain started in 1982, and it showed...
  21. Normally when I get the massive bloating, I do a fast and the bloating goes away, and then dairy or sugar is not a problem. Now I cannot eat anything! This time I am doing the fast and even the carrot juice is causing me to bloat. Now I'm wondering if my bacteria are out of balance because of the ice cream I was eating, (bad girl ) and maybe I should...
  22. Hey Ken, My millet is not a type of wheat. Unless there is another type of millet I'm not aware of? Well, I went and looked up millet agaaaain, and I'm still confused. I knew there was finger millet called Ragi and Pearl millet called bajra, but then it gets more confusing because I just read that finger millet is red and the millet I have sitting...
  23. Computer programmers are too smart to let people vote multiple times, at least at big websites like Martha's. I don't think that's what happened. She said the Allergy magazine got 57% of the vote, period. I think she selected from the two most popular. She doesn't have allergies, so she picked the animal one. I think that's a bad business decision myself...
  24. The thing that kills me, is she said that the Allergy magazine won the popular vote but the pet magazine and the allergy magazine tied. So I want to know who was voting if it wasn't by the popular vote. Now we know why they took down the percentages. I really am shocked that she would do this. If she didn't want us to vote, then why did she. And I still...
  25. Why in the heck did she even ask us to vote when she picked the pet idea! I just lost a lot of respect for Martha and I will never buy her magazine again!! I really am amazed at how she weaseled out of it.
