  1. Ken, Do you have a recipe for making the dough? I thought I would just buy the buckwheat and grind it myself.
  2. Violet, Do you have a recipe for buckwheat noodles or do you buy them?
  3. Saveur magazine had a recipe for buckwheat crepes that uses milk and egg. Haven't tried it yet but it sounded good. I'll have to get on that. How does it do as a thickener for gravies? What about the taste?
  4. Thanks, again! I just did a google search on villi and mucosal lining and I was surprised what I got: The primary damage that celiac disease causes is to the mucosal lining of the small intestine. I wasn't aware of that and I haven't seen anybody here talk about it, which is why I asked the question in the first place. I didn't know that the villi...
  5. I was told I have IBS and the mucus was a symptom of that. Has anyone actually had this symptom that was diagnosed with celiac?
  6. I've read that acne can get worse when you detox. It never made sense to me though. Seems like it's more likely that it just takes time to heal and your body is still trying to get rid of the toxins. But how do you know you have food collecting in your tonsils? What are your symptoms exactly?
  7. According to this web page about digestion, Open Original Shared Link the pancreas secrete digestive juices for digestion-Amylase for sugars, etc. I read somewhere that eventually the pancreas quits functioning because it starts wearing out or becomes inflamed. Since blood sugar affects the pancreas, and you read everywhere that sugar causes inflammation...
  8. I was assuming that the sugar, milk sugar and fructose messed up the pancreas and then the enzymes that helps to digest the food and then you get the bloating and pain. Pancreas problems do run in my family. Have you tried taking lactaid when you eat yogurt?
  9. We just need to keep voting every day until it ends. Does anyone know when that is?
  10. You should really try a Neti pot for your sinuses. Beats the heck out of taking antibiotics and upsetting your stomach bacteria balance. Milk and sugar are known to aggravate sinus conditions.
  11. I'm not dx'd either, but I've had intermittent stomach pain with eating apples and drinking a glass of milk. I get terrible migraines with diarrhea if I get an ice cream at Dairy Queen. I haven't been on an elimination diet. When my bloating got bad, I went on a juice fast. It helped me so much because the bloating was killing me. Eating was really...
  12. Can't help you with the tests results but I also have the pain in the toes. Do you have it in both toes? I've had this symptoms for about a month and it is really painful.
  13. Thanks! I'm wondering how long it takes stuff to get to the small intestine. It happened so fast. I'm not sure it was a lactose deficiency because it's like the reaction started in my stomach, not the small intestine where the villi are. Something to definitely think about. Thanks again!
  14. I just had a hot chocolate that I made myself and before I could finish it, I am BLOATED big time. Before I started drinking it, I took 2 enzymes. I'm a little new at this. Does anyone take those lactose enzymes for lactose intolerance? I'm still trying to figure out if I have a gluten intolerance or if I have a carbohydrate intolerance. I can eat...
  15. What did Martha's daughter do?
  16. I am stuck on Chebe bread being so good for you. I guess that's why I keep thinking that tapioca is so great.
  17. I'm having the same kinds of problems. All kinds of stomach issues. I even have sacroilitiis and thyroid disease but my daughter just tested negative so I will probably too. I just read that the starch content in wheat is a lot higher than in the olden days and that our digestive systems are not designed to handle that much starch. Makes sense to me....
  18. We're neck and neck. Both at 29% this morning!
  19. I never would've figured that out. Thanks! I love wrapped foods too. I would much rather have my food wrapped than in two pieces of bread anyday!
  20. It says you can vote once per day. If someone could remember to post to this thread to jog our memories, that would be great! I'm afraid my brain would forget.
  21. We're barely in 2nd place. The Martha Stewart store is 16% and we're 19%. Arggggh Vote, vote, vote!
  22. I have never worked with rice papers. Let us know what you find out.
  23. I did some reading after the biotin was suggested by sickchick and it says that biotin comes from the mucosal lining and it's created by the good bacteria. I know my mucosal lining is messed up. I can't wait to get mine. I'm going with the 5000 mcg! Yippee!
  24. Hi Kim, I'm not a farmer exactly, but I have chickens for eggs. I also have 4 goats which I initially bought to have my own organic milk. That was a lot of work, esp when you're sick. I'd love to do it again sometime though. I also have 2 geese that could swim on the pond, but they're afraid of the pond. Sorry, I don't have any tips because I...
  25. Thanks everyone for their reply. This message got moved and I never received a message that anyone had replied. I thought that someone removed the message and was never posted. I just was browsing my profile and found the message again by accident. She's gone back to her mother now. Thanks !
