When it tastes a little fermented and is a little sludgy I think that means it's yogurt. Don't take my word for it, though, I've abandoned all things yogurt/cheese/pastry when the intolerances were eliminated and I was sick of getting messed up from the replacements. Again, a massive thank you to whoever pointed this stuff out. If everything continues...

The yogurt is done and is excellent. Thank you very much for bringing that to light.

I actually like it now. At first it is kind of gross, but when you eat it for awhile it becomes more welcoming especially for its effects. And mixing in the mustard packet that usually comes with it makes it taste much less like old man stink.

Thanks for the support Sandsurf! I was feeling pretty lousy when I put that up. Sometimes recovery can be even more of a pain. When you know you have just a little ways to get better it feels really frustrating to have those last difficulties to put up with. As for the coconut milk yogurt I already got some going (20 hours ago) after figuring out how easy...

ARCHIVED How Long For That Brick-Like Bulge To Go Away?
Pyro replied to bridgetm's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Good questions and I hate to see it being ignored. Unfortunately for me, it still has been coming along even though every bad food has been pretty much ruled out. Last night it actually kind of scared me with how persistent it was and how it was in many different places rather than one. I've been eating jalapenos today, hoping that it will "burn" up and out... -
I do my own soups sometimes but no on the sauerkraut. Maybe I'll look into this coconut milk thing for future purposes.
-
Do you mean the stuff from Purely Decadent? It gives me really bad gastric problems and so does the coconut kefir. Hate to be melancholy but it all seems really hopeless. No matter what I do, I've been having really bad times.

I've been using probiotics for probably about two years now, and have seen okay results. But then again can't be sure, because you don't really know what it's like to not take a medicine when you've been taking it constantly. Anyway they seem to at least do something and I'm actually afraid to go without them seeing how awful my gut can be even when using...

I can have no grains, almost no starches, and have been avoiding the most sugary fruit for the past weeks until my inflammation goes down. Also no goitrogenic foods. So as you can see my digestion really BLOWS!! and it helps to find things that go down well. Looking how other cultures do it is very useful, because they often work with their food more than...

ARCHIVED Not Doing Well Emotionally
Pyro replied to sandsurfgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know what you're going through, and in fact you posted in support of me not too long ago. My problems are now finally clearing up, and for the emotional part you need to just let it run its course. Don't stay strong (as in tighten up or suppress), don't lash out, and only watch your frustrations. They really can't do anything. You already know that you... -
ARCHIVED Lots Of Food Intolerances--I'm Miserable!
Pyro replied to Link's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Did you say you were still having unresolved issues? I'd cut out the rice for awhile to see if that helps or not. You are already allergic to a ton of grains, so you could be tolerant to others as well. As for missing out on food, the whole world is still your oyster. You just can't have the grains that put the backbone in meals. If there are any ethnic... -
ARCHIVED Weird.. How To Know When Things Are Dangerous?
Pyro replied to Pyro's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My intestines and abdominal sheath still give the feeling of crawling over each other, and the area directly below my navel will still feel balled up. I'm not sure if this problem is one that is sticking around or something that just keeps re-manifesting. Either way it blows and is hard to work up a good appetite feeling like a warm, mildew covered tattered... -
ARCHIVED Weird.. How To Know When Things Are Dangerous?
Pyro replied to Pyro's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yeah I'm the same. No starches, no harder fruit, probably no more things like beets and stuff with goitrogens. It really sucks and is getting difficult, but at least summer is coming around and I can have more berries & fresh tomatoes (my life substance) & fresh zuchinni. After I wrote this post I went on a huge long walk. These always seem to... -
ARCHIVED Weird.. How To Know When Things Are Dangerous?
Pyro posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
My abdominals have been inflammed for weeks, probably even months and here are things I've noticed: There is a ball like lump under my navel. I've gone to the doctor about this before and he said it's okay, but this one hasn't gone away in a long time. My ass seems tight. Haha. Seriously though, I can't really get it to go back into relaxing when I... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Ever Tried Triphala (Herbal Therapy)? Other Herbs?

Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link ^ Some of the better links I've found. Been taking this (Planetary Herbal tabs) since last monday and it seems to be helping out. Unfortunately there really isn't that much indepth info on it, so even though some people give dosage advice there really isn't enough actual detail... -
ARCHIVED How To Not Get In The Way Of Your Own Recovery? So Confused...

Coffee has caffeine which gets you high. Anyone who has kids on ritalin and adderall are letting their children get high. Many many legal things get you high, even going to church. I still disagree on acid. It hasn't been shown to cause brain damage and people who have "bad trips" are either in an unfortunate setting or are fighting the drug. And "spiritual... -

Thanks Riceguy, I've been thinking of picking up that NOW multi myself. I'm emailing beverly int and we'll see what can be done about $$. Also thanks for the concern Sandsurf. Trust me though, there are big difference between drugs. Meth, heroin, coke, and other drugs like that often lead to a very dark path and I have absolutely no interest in them... -

You are wrong on many fronts, no offense. Go ahead and look on erowid. Most arguments about LSD and whatnot are not based in science or didn't consider that people weren't taking them in optimal conditions. There is even a great scientific journal written by Stanislav Grof available online for reading. But anyway I don't want to argue about that because people... -

Pyro replied to Pyro's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Sure! I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to share here but a good site to look this up is erowid dot org. Things like ayahuasca and peyote (favorite drug by far) are greatly connected with cleaning out the mind/body but people still have success with other things like mushrooms and LSD. LSD has even been successfully used to treat many cases of neurosis and... -

I'm feeling a lot better now. Still not strong enough to lift weights again but I'm confident that energy is on its way to start building up now. There really isn't a sure way of knowing what worked, especially when affected over a period of time, but there are a few things I think helped pass what seemed like a large back up in my intestines. Firstly... -

Are you sure about the d. liver? I wrote the company themselves because I suspect that maybe they (the iron most likely) are causing me constipation but I don't know. Liver has a lot of vitamins and I'll post a link detailing it soon, but I figured since my diet is already vitamin rich that it didn't matter if the supplement wasn't complete in a way. Open... -

My home actually. But no one will want to go out of their way to help out and still even make toast when I'm there to breathe it in. It really can't be that bad, though, because I still make sure not to let food touch a dirty counter an so on. And using/not using shared utensils hasn't made a difference in the past as long as they are cleaned. -

I can't do the yogurt but do take NOW acidophilus. As for yoga, meditation, and in general functional approaches to life I do that but still feel not so great. Even this week I haven't been feeling the energy to do my whole routine and didn't do anything today. BTW I notice you mentioned some veggies. SCD maintains that you need to wait and try adding... -

I take these* for a multi-vitamin supplement along with 5000 Vitamin D-3 and Fish Oil. All grains make me feel bad (Millet to Quinoa to Rice), legumes I'm not so sure, and for now I'm cutting down on the nuts and seeds to focus on meat and nutrient rich veggies because my absorption seems to be getting worse and worse. The multi which MAY be upsetting... -

Hey all, thanks for this site. It's really a great help to have people around who don't down on you, call you crazy/neurotic, "it's all in your head", and all that when you're having some gastro crisis. I've already been familiar with and have been gluten/dairy free for two years seeing the most dramatic improvements unwittingly following something like...
