  1. RiceGuy, have you read any of DogtorJ's stuff?? I just checked out that link... See DogtorJ takes that all further and goes to show that gluten is like 30% glutamic acid by weight...and how soy/corn/casein also have glutamic acid in them.. dogtorj.net, check out the GARD article.. Right now i'm trying again to cut out all dairy, meat, eggs etc....
  2. I was reading DogtorJ's G.A.R.D. article, and was thinking about what he had to say about glutamic acid. He mentioned something brief in that article about how he was now investigating the presence of glutamic-acid in grain-fed meat. I don't think it would be hard-pressed to think that all the glutamic acid from wheat/grains could get into grain-fed dairy...
  3. Hey There, I hear you... I felt like you did in the beginning. What occurs to me to say is that, once you get further and further and further away from being glutened and being gluten-free...then you get further and further away from that depression, until you forget about it... once you get away from gluten long enough you can take the occasional depressive...
  4. I've been doing more thinking and researching. I found this: "In non REM sleep, there are four stages. Stages 1 and 2 are light sleep, and serve as the relaxation and transition period from being awake to being in deep sleep. Stages 3 and 4 are called

    ARCHIVED What If?

my life would have been completely different without gluten...completely. i mean...i have been depressed...and lots of times even suicidal...since 5th grade. Pretty much a constant struggle just to want to live until a few years ago only. Now when I eat gluten I do get depressed...its so indidious just sorta creeps up on me usually...and then everything...
  6. Definitely get depression from gluten. Thats the way it seems at least. If I eat too much gluten, it builds over a few days and suddenly I just want to die. Its really bad for me. I think its just worse when your already under stress...because you feel so awful and feel like there is no possible way you can cope AND be under stress etc etc. Thats my experience...
  7. Hi Raven, Yes I have tried multiple multiple multiple times with sleep masks, ear plugs, even sleeping in the closet. But for some reason my body could pick up on the person outside of the closet on his stupid laptop at midnight. Probably the light seeping underneath and through the vent. That blue light is enough to "wake" me in the morning after a good...
  8. Hey Spunky, For about a month I was pretty much raw vegan. I didn't seem to have digestive/candida issues during that time at all. I wasn't even aware of gluten or candida at that point, all I know was that I felt really good. I felt VERY cleaned up from the inside out. But I did lose some weight. I think its Jesus in the Essene Gospels that says do...
  9. I think a good long period of intestinal detoxification/cleaning is very important. Although I do still think wine might be some sort of magic ticket... it just seems it could be, judging by the way it is used.... in countries that eat different types of food that are gluey. I bet without wine they would not be in good health...eating all those foods. For...
  10. A person gave me a bottle of powdered L-glutamine or whatever even before I knew it was good for intestinal healing. hows that for fate...hehe Spunky - hmm..interesting. It seems you have problems with anything that glues up your intestines... or that, you are sensitive to a state of your GI tract when its gluey... either from gluten, dairy or soy....
  11. I think if you decide you do want to eat dairy, corn, soy, or anything else that might be very cloggy/gluey to the digestive tract, then I think you should eat it separately, at the very least...in your diet. I was reading about Susan Somers book (yes, lol)...on the active low-carbing forums. She's all about food combining after going to France and having...
  12. Yeah it makes sense to eat meals, especially gluey meals...with wine. So wine and cheese... wine and grains... If you drink it during the meal..it would mix and slush around in the stomach...helping the stuff dissolve easier I would guess... Actual Cs, I was JUST thinking this exact same thing, and I was waiting to get home to write a post on this...
  13. Tom - Yeah I would have to re-read that study again myself too...not sure what it says exactly. And those studies are -so- fun to read right? Ali- I have wondered how in the heck they came up with SSRI's... I tried researching a few years ago the origin of say, Prozac...like who invented it etc... I couldn't find anything at all at the time. I wonder if...
  14. It occurred to me today that maybe its not about this or that food... well, at least not in celiacs... But for normal health if you don't say, have some sort of an allergic reaction to gluten...its all about food combining. And here in America, with 8000 cultures thrown together...we have not properly learned how to eat with the resources available...
  15. "We often find that lipophilic compounds exhibit cytotoxic characteristics at high concentrations, a phenomenon also observed by others (e.g. Chen et al.5), suggesting that toxicity rather than a specific inhibitory mechanism may be driving the antifungal activity of SSRIs." Wow... thats amazing because that theory/concept came to me last week. That SSRI...
  16. Here's the thing... The pineal gland is driven by ipRGCs...these are receptors in your eye...that only respond to the blue-wavelength of light. Candlelight does not have much blue-wavelength...so you can read by candlelight, meanwhile your pineal gland will start producing the melatonin. Suddenly you'll feel so warm and great and be ready to pass out...
  17. Yes in our crazyness we can find some interesting things to take. I heard a lot about that...supposed to help different things. Have you tried raw garlic? lol...is that cliche? I'm really seriously trying that now. I might also just go on a low dose of Paxil for awhile on top of everything else...since I just read paxil is anti-fungal. Have...
  18. Well if smoking helps with stress, and stress can trigger celiac... It seems so many of the things we do can sometimes be self-medicating... I smoke the odd cigarette sometimes. Some days none. Somedays 1. Somedays 2. Rarely more than that. Been doing that for awhile. I"ll quit for months at a time if I'm going into some health kick or whatever.. but...
  19. I think one cause could be lack of sufficient darkness. Its only been recently that we have had electric lights... so we stay up later, get less sleep...let alone in good darkness like we used to. Coincidentally we lose out on a good amount of melatonin production every single night. Read the book Lights Out, its amazing. Also check out photoperiodeffect...
  20. Thank you Ursa... I just swallowed 2 garlic cloves whole (supposedly helps release juices through entire digestive tract)...as well as ate 3 cloves of crushed garlic. Its kinda weird I actually like just eating garlic... I will experiment with this. I agree on the Paxil.. but at the same time I just think candida and its problems can be worse than Paxil...
  21. No you misread. I wasn't taking Paxil during the time I was getting lots of sleep. I think its actually more complicated than just any old sleep. Eh...I was trying to make a point about EMF's/light pollution and its relationship to the pineal gland producing melatonin... because if these things are messed up, our immune system will be messed up...you won...
  22. I somehow got on a page this morning that talked about how SSRI's exhibit antifungal activity against Candida, among other things. Google SSRI candida antifungal Here's one study: Open Original Shared Link So now let me tell you what I think this is true...and how it all relates. I was going to post something this morning about something similar,...
  23. killjoy? ... now why would saying something like that make you a killjoy? haha
  24. still waiting for that witty think......hahahahahaha (please do not come up with something really witty cause then I will have to answer with something at least equally witty....!!!!hahaha)

  25. Growing up I remember reading about how another country fly over us and unleash irritants in the air that could cause us to have cancer or die etc etc... I know this sounds paranoid...but... Do you think its possible somebody, out there... genetically modified wheat to have a chemical complex in it that would kill off lots of the population in a certain...
