ARCHIVED Candida Overgrowth
CuriousOne replied to holdthegluten's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
A week ago I read about how SBO's eat yeast and bad bacteria. And I realized it made sense that most of humanity we have been eating plants from the ground... but only until recently do we wash everything, destroy the microbial content of soil with pesticides and artificial fertilizers, and just alot of stuff... So I started drinking a pinch of good... -
Okay I need input !! About a week ago I somehow found something on the internet about soil-based organisms...and how they eat candida. And I was suspicous I have candida. Basically 3 weeks ago I started just eating low carb. Obviously no gluten... I have felt better but still feel like I have a ways to go. So this morning I had a very nice bowel...

ARCHIVED Synopsis Of My Last Four Days Casein Free.
CuriousOne replied to Woolygimp's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Maybe the reason going off diary helps is because dairy actually could contain either gluten or gluten metabolites present from giving the cows grains.. INSTEAD OF GRASS LIKE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO EAT! so your test should be to get grass-fed dairy products, try them...and report back (or the very least PM me) if they bother you. I would be interested... -
ARCHIVED Do Bacteria Cause Celiac Disease?
CuriousOne replied to Nancym's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I wonder if this is true. Do people have so many issues with gluten intolerance in Europe? Do you think its because America drinks flouridated and chlorinated tap water? Seems the only other western european country that flouridates their tap water is england. coincidentally i saw a bunch of gluten-free stuff in the supermarkets there a few months... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Protein In Breast Milk
CuriousOne replied to home-based-mom's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
This is extremely interesting and needs to be figured out. In california you can get the milk of cows that are grass-fed only. I'm going off dairy now. I can't afford any chances anymore. This is my health. I don't do much diary except butter...which could have some in it. And occasional ice cream...ay. -
ARCHIVED My Eyes
CuriousOne replied to wwebby's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Interesting... I'm actually studying natural vision improvement. I've noticed my vision has gotten better especially these last few weeks since I've started doing the paleo diet... and then I read this page, which talks about the relationship between myopia and carbs (who knows if its true) Open Original Shared Link And then I just saw this thread... -
ARCHIVED How Long Till Villi Heal
CuriousOne replied to holdthegluten's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease

ARCHIVED For Long-time Strict Gfers With Depression/anxiety
CuriousOne replied to eLaurie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm not too sure of the responses on this thread. I don't see why it would take 18 months for the intestinal tract to heal. Are we saying that the serotonin-making cells take 18 months to re-establish themselves in the gut, so that they can then begin to start making serotonin again? Its been awhile now since I posted. I was off gluten for a long... -
I have no issues with being on a restrictive diet.. definitely no issues with that. I just am trying to figure out what it is. Its only been 3 months gluten free. 2 months dairy/soy free. So if gluten-intolerance was my main issue (which caused leaky gut - don't know why else I would be intolerant to dairy/soy)... then maybe I just have many many many...

By the way, I do not think I've ever taken anti-biotics but I can check with my mother. BTW - I just took the full candida quiz on candidafree.com.... and it said I probably don't have a yeast problem... So I'm thinking either thats untrue... Or I really do just have a gluten intolerance problem that caused a leaky gut... ? I just wish things would...

psipsina, i'm glad i decided to check this message board since its been awhile... just saw you responded to me today. Yes, I have been considering candida... I know I reacted badly to the gluten challenge. Haven't touched gluten since. Maybe 2.5-3 months now. But I think I may have issues with candida...definitely... So I'm wondering if I should...

I also now wonder if after being glutoned, you can speed up the process by fasting on water. Why? Possibly because the body just going into auto-immune mode and starts reacting to everything...so everything you put in your mouth might keep irritating it. What if you just fasted on water and the immune response went away after a day. Beats a week or two. I...

Thought I'd chime in... I've had bad neurological symptoms probably my entire life...but things really started getting bad with me at age 12 for some reason. I haven't been officially tested yet, but have done the gluten challenge and failed. I also sorta unknowingly stumbled upon the gluten-free diet a few times the past 2 years. And low and behold...

Even better. Get the book Take Off Your Glasses and See My vision has improved substantially since I started reading that book. I wore glasses/contacts for 12 years. I took them off when I started reading that book and haven't worn them since. Its been 8 months or so... and a lot of times my vision is really really clear. Go figure. Its sorta fluctuating...

Yikes i don't know what happened recently. I soaked some generic brand oatmeal overnight, then ate it. As I was eating it... after 4 bites I decided I didn't want to take a chance. Then the last 3 or 4 days I've been feeling really bad. Just angry. Irritable. Not as much energy. 2 days ago I started eating more potato chips and also was eating rice...

sorry to hear that Greg. Hope you can find your triggers and get rid of them!!

You know its just so weird... The last few days things have just felt off to me. Everything...every single thing... And this morning I woke up and finally felt right again. Its almost ridiculous. I think I did get glutened... I was feeling SO good and then a friend fed me some of this pot roast he made. I'm sure the broth had something bad in it......
-
yep...normal!! i'm starting to think one role of the serotonin making in the gut is to calm the gut. foods that inflame/irritate the gut are bad...the brain's response to an inflamed gut is an anxiety mode... its almost like... if the gut is inflamed/irritated... you feel anxious etc etc. if its all sluggish and gunked up...u feel depressed and slowed...

so does it really take up to 18 months for the villi to heal or whatever? or 6-12 months for the caso and other morphines to exit your system?? can i expect myself to be some glowing super human as the months go by? i do feel better already and its been a few months... but i wonder if i could feel even better... sigh.........

yep definitely feel like that ... definitely...

ARCHIVED New To Everything (and I Could Just Cry)
CuriousOne replied to gluten free guy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i know what u mean about ending your life. but it can get better...that always seems to be the case for me.... -
I had a thought on this. Maybe the body developed a thick layer of mucus to deal with all the gluten. That layer of mucus was developed to protect the intestine against gluten... but it also worked to protect the intestines against say, casein...or soy.... So now that gluten is gone, your intestines are cleared up... the mucus may be gone... and your intestines...

Thanks Ruthla, I'm sure it was something.. In fact I think it was the soy. I didn't get any digestive discomfort at all. All I know is I woke up the next morning just depressed...I had suicidal ideation yesterday too... one of those things. Like thats just how I felt yet I knew something was possibly messing with my brain... I think it was soy since.....

how weird... i woke up this morning... feeling like everything was just wrong. i wanted to leave where I am...move on...etc etc.. just depressed. didn't have motivation for anything. its either because this is how i truly feel about everything...OR i got messed up from some chinese food yesterday, which is possible. i asked the lady about gluten...but...
