Is there such a thing as normal poop? just asking, there is no 'normal' poop in our house, so maybe I live a sheltered life.

ARCHIVED What To Look For On Make-up/personal Care Items
Smunkeemom replied to Smunkeemom's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am probably way too anal about it, but my rule, is anything they taste, touch, sit by, or smell. Taste- of course, that's a no brainer Touch- play dough, finger paint, makeup, soap, ect. Even though my girls actually do break out if they even touch gluten, there is also the possiblility that they don't get it washed off enough and get it on their... -

I guess, my kids are pretty sensitive though, they can't use play dough or finger paint, and once got glutened by a generic brand bandaid (and it never went anywhere near their mouths) I think they might have a combo of celiac and wheat allergy though -

as far as the gluten free status, I have no clue, I probably haven't used it at all since 1987 LOL didn't even know what gluten was back then. Edit: I just checked the website and it is gluten free, they have different kinds now though, so you want the original rinse clean formula, you should be able to get it at the drugstore or supermarket. -

it's true that Jello comes out easier than Kool-aid, but Prell shampoo will strip out just about any coloring, even semi-permanent that you buy in the grocery store. -

I have heard of people using Kool-aid to dye their hair, freaky colors. I also dyed mine with black tea once, although it was more of a rinse, meaning it washed out the next day. -

you ever wonder why that is? I mean women spend money on things we "need" like make up and clothes, and pedicures (okay, yeah I really need that) and men spend it on toys Went shopping last night, I bought new shampoo, a few shirts, and hubby buys a movie oh, also (on topic!) I really really like my TIGI Bed Head shampoo, it's gluten free... -

yeah, you pretty much either went to the concert (which nobody played in OK) or waited to buy one at the Goodwill (if anyone ever got rid of it) I had to mix my own hair colors, they didn't have "off the shelf" green back then. I remember going through the after halloween sales to pick up makeup and clothes for the year, fishnets, and black skirts... -

I went through what my mom calls "rainbow rebel" stage, my hair was green, pink, purple, orange, yellow, aqua, bright red, black, black with blue, blue, blue and white, ect. (not all at the same time) my fav. was when I dyed my hair platinum blonde and did pastel pink highlights. (second fav. was brown with bright red highlights, which was how it was... -
ARCHIVED Ice Cream Truck
Smunkeemom replied to stephanielaw's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The local truck has gluten free push pops, also Blue Bell's fudgecycles should be gluten-free (but you might want to check) I think (if I remember) those red white and blue rocket pops were gluten free also. I don't know if your truck has the same stuff as ours though. If not, you could always just stock your freezer with stuff that looks... -

being a person who used to have green hair, there are generally 3 reasons, most people have at least one, some have all three 1 you like green 2 you like to freak people out 3 you feel like doing something fun, and believe me, when you are a teen is the only real time you can pull off green hair (although some can do it into their 20's I am... -
ARCHIVED How Do I Deal With This?
Smunkeemom replied to PirateGen's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am sorry you have been sick for so long, hopefully you will feel better soon. My best advice? okay, first print out this list, and take it everywhere you go, read the ingredients on EVERYTHING, if you can't read the ingredients, and it's not fresh fruit or veggies without syrup or seasoning, then don't eat it. Try that for a few weeks and see if you... -

ARCHIVED What To Eat Before celiac disease Panel
Smunkeemom replied to SuperBeck's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I pretty much knew that my youngest "had it" so before her panel, to make sure it showed up good, I fed her all the gluten she would "never be able to have again", for dinner she had pizza, Kraft mac and cheese, chicken fried steak with gravy, and biscuits with honey. Before she went to bed, I let her eat some donuts and apple fritters. LOL Her... -

The results go something like <20 is neg. and if you had a number like 40 (like I did) they say they are negative (even though it's clearly pos.) or if you have a number like 150 they say they are inconclusive (even though it's clearly pos.) my youngest actually got a pos. on a test where <20 is normal she got a 600. That's why I say to get... -
ARCHIVED Fda Warning For Adhd Drugs
Smunkeemom replied to Ursa Major's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have heard from a nurologist that they can do a brain scan (CT) for it and see changes, but it's not a diagnostic tool, it's kinda like there are actual chemical differences in the brain of a bipolar person but they don't do CT to confirm that diagnosis, it goes more by symptoms and behavior. -
oh, he's a copywritten (is that the proper spelling/tense?!) character and when I found his pic on the internet there was this big scary warning about how if you use him without permission that they will fine you $$, so that's notOpen Original Shared Link, it's uh.........Rupert, yeah, Rupert.

ARCHIVED When You Were Diagnosed
Smunkeemom replied to JerryK's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My GI symptoms were sporadic and random, my other symptoms (the ones from not gettting enough nutrients) happened all the time, for at least 10 years. However, when you are chubby like me, it's assumed that you are getting enough to eat, so they don't go into even trying to figure out why your body is acting like you are starving to death, they just assume... -

It might be a good idea to throw out all your makeup and start over (I know it's expensive) but if you are like me, you mix eye shadows and lipsticks to get a better shade, and yeah, it can all get cross contaminated sitting in your makeup bag. Also, I hear it grows yucky stuff that can make you sick, so you are supposed to replace it every few months anyway... -

ARCHIVED How Do I Deal With This?
Smunkeemom replied to PirateGen's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
A lot of people are too busy to notice much if you aren't constantly whining. I know, I get the "I didn't know you were sick" thing too, esp. since I used to just grit my teeth and get through it, after 19 years of people testing me for everything under the sun and then every time telling me "it must be anxiety" I just quit even trying to figure out what... -
I am actually feeling better today. I am in a little better of a mood though, we will see how long that lasts, I am going to attempt gluten free lasanga tonight (don't know how to spell it or cook it LOL) yeah, the brain fog? still here.
