  1. Does anyone know if ACT Kids Flouride rinse is gluten free? Thank you!
  2. Does ryegrass contain gluten? My daughter's Pre-K class is doing a planting activity with ryegrass today. My first reaction was that it would contain gluten just due to the name, but then I read wikipedia says it is a genus of tufted grasses, not to be confused with rye which is a grain. Then I remembered that buckwheat flour is gluten free, so now I'm...
  3. We really like Mi-Del gluten free arrowroot (animal) cookies...they're like animal crackers. We also like Envirokidz crispy bars in chocolate and berry blast (not berry/fruity burst). We order them from the river A M A Z O N via Subscribe & Save, free shipping and a discounted price.
  4. My sister is having her annual party and I am bringing pepperoni pizza dip with tortilla chips for dipping, glutenfreegobsmacked.com's jalapeno popper dip (i haven't tried that yet, but sounds good!), rice chex treats, and chocolate rice chex treats.
  5. This might be bad to say on a celiac forum, but I don't like the taste of tapioca...that is the bad taste in gluten-free foods for me. If I use it in baking, I use it minimally and try to replae it with corn starch.
  6. I second the tacos. We did a taco bar on New Year's Day and it was a HIT!! Taco meat in a crockpot to keep warm. Toast the shells at home ahead of time and bring the fixings...cheese, sour cream, lettuce, taco sauce, etc.
  7. This is always a hit... Pepperoni Pizza Dip (but can omit pepperoni and do plain or green peppers, etc for vegetarian) 8 oz cream cheese, softened Italian seasoning Garlic powder 8 oz tomato/pasta sauce 8 oz shredded mozzarella/Italian cheese 1/2 cup parmesan cheese Pepperoni slices cuts into small pieces (enough to cover dish) Mix cream cheese...
  8. I came across this tonight in preparation for taking my DD to see The Princess and the Frog: Open Original Shared Link
  9. Maybe you could parbake it so it would hold it's shape and just require popping in the oven, but would still have that fresh baked taste?
  10. Our Target just converted to include a large grocery section and they now sell Namaste products, as well as Pamela's, Bob's, plus other gluten-free snack foods.
  11. I use Land O Lakes' recipes and sub Domato or Better Batter for the flour. Just be sure not to roll the soft ones too thin or they will be crispy. for crispy sugar cookies: Open Original Shared Link for soft sugar cookies: Open Original Shared Link Enjoy!
  12. I second the Kinnikinnick S'moreables. We've also tried Josef's cinnamon, chocolate, and vanilla graham crackers...they were square, very hard, more like a shortbread cookie. Kinnikinnick is more crumbly like a graham cracker and better flavor. Enjoy!
  13. We absolutely love Pamela's for pancakes...but it's because DH adds vanilla extract to the batter every time. We recently visited family out of state and they bought the mix for DD but made the pancakes for everyone...they were really bland and tasteless. DH, myself, and my FIL all commented to my BIL separately "they're really good with vanilla" so when...
  14. Wegman's syrup is gluten free. I believe Acme and Safeway/Genuardi's brands are as well, but we buy Wegman's since it is labeled gluten free (and it's inexpensive).
  15. I'd recommend that you take a thermos for both of you. You can pretty much eat whatever hot meal you want. Pasta dishes with or without meat mixed in, chili, soup; chicken nuggets wrapped in foil in the thermos. Take a long a gluten-free roll, cornbread, salad or something. Or an extra thermos of veggies or mashed potatoes or something for both of you...
  16. I submitted the following comment on the Girl Scouts' website yesterday and received the reply below today: My comment: Please consider making a gluten free Girl Scout cookie. As more celiacs are diagnosed, and more people realize they are gluten intolerant, the demand will only continue to increase. Gluten free is the fastest growing sector of the...
  17. Does anyone have a good gingerbread man cookie recipe to share? DD's Pre-K class is making them next week (from a gluten mix), so I need a recipe to send in ingredients for her to make as well. If the recipe is easy enough and tastes good, I might offer to donate the ingredients so all of the kids can make the gluten free version. Help!!
  18. I called Hershey's last year and they will not disclose what is included in their "natural flavors" but said that their "artificial flavor" is gluten free.
  19. I have a bag of coconut flour and would like to try some things for DD. She is not an adventurous eater, and it takes several times seeing something new before she'll try it, so I'd like to take a recipe she likes and sub some coconut flour. I'm just wondering specifically the ratio of liquid to coconut flour that I need to add when I sub and if the amount...
  20. Thank you for that link. Has anyone tried any of those restaurants? Any recommendations for something kid friendly? She likes pizza, pasta, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders. Has anyone tried the Original Pancake House for gluten-free options? We're visiting family in Minnesota this week and looking for a few dining out options. Thank you!
  21. Thank you for all of the suggestions!!! So many options!!! I will run these ideas by DD. Thank you!!
  22. We use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry...I love how it is not greasy at all. Last year I called Banana Boat and Coppertone and both companies said all of their sunblocks were gluten free (as of last year). Aveeno has oats, so steer clear of that.
  23. In the past we've just done family parties but we're planning a kids party for DD this year...she is turning 4 in August. I'll be making a princess cake (wish me luck!), but I'm looking for suggestions for other kid friendly gluten-free food to serve so I can have my daughter choose. My daughter said pancakes or eggs, which I'm not doing since it's an afternoon...
  24. I found the chocolate chip cookie mix at Wegman's in Pennsylvania. Price was 3.99...makes 24 average size cookies(aka ChipsAhoy size). We made 12 cookies and saved the other half of the batter to test how the dough holds up frozen and baked at another time. They were really good. A little crumbly the next day, but still taste great. I'm excited to try...
  25. I am wondering the same thing. I've tried both (plus Mr. Ritts flour blend), but at separate times and for different recipes, so I couldn't really compare them. Now I'm ready to buy more and not sure which to buy. I can get Domata for the lowest price, so I'm thinking about going with that one, but would love to hear a review.
