    ARCHIVED Gerd

so as many of you know, i have been kinda awall the past year or so from the boards. I have been in the hospital for a lot of this time, and have also been busy with school and stuff. My most recent hospital stays have been because of my HORRIBLE reflux. Everytime I eat, I must take phenergen and zofran just to keep the acid from coming up, and most...
  3. what i am going to say is annecdotal and i don't know about the scientificnes of it. i'm pretty sure i've heard about some environmental trigger that could trigger the onset of symptoms, and you said that you moved, which could possibly cause that. i know that 5 people in my neighborhood were diagnosed the same yeat with celiac. You symptoms do sound like...
  4. i would have to say that i am very lucky to have been diagnosed before i can remember it. I don't remember gluten foods, thus i don't crave them. plus i grew up on the diet, and i know nothing but my diet. My celiac teen friends who were diagnosed in elementary/middle school say they wish they were diagnosed as young as i was. it's habit for me, and growing...
  5. yeah i would reccomend the tinkyada lasagna noodles, they're the only ones that we use, i think they taste the best, and look better and don't fall apart. sorry i don't know about dairy free stuff.
  6. as most of you know, i am a MAJOR giants fan, and i love baseball overall. So you could imagine that when I heard that the allstar game was going to be in SF, i was, exstatic! My mom was a volunteer at the fanfest, so i got free tickets for all those days, we didn't get tickets for the actual game or home run derby, but still it was really fun. Fan...

  10. I saw the movie last night at midnight with ALL my friends I thought that it was good, but not GREAT. They cut a LOT out of it, which bugged me, but still, if it's a harry potter movie, it's worth watching so yeah, did anyone ELSE see it? if you did, did you like it? and the BOOK comes out in 10 days :D:D i'm even MORE excited for that ...
  11. i think i answer for most people on the boards in saying tinkyada!!!
  12. i'm back for real this time lol. So yeah boston was a BLAST!! the giants lost, but i met my favorite player's mom and dad and i got like 15 autographs from all the giants players on the pics of me and them, and I got my favorite player to sign the jersey that i got for my b-day (which is his #) and the catcer threw me a ball that i caught, and another...

  14. Our ROCK group started off as my friend leading it and planning the events, (she was 11 at the time) and then she moved to Tahoe so we had various people tale over it. We had one really great woman running it and planning the events, but then she died unexpectadly sooooooo my mom ran it for a while, but i got too old for it, so i started the TAG (teens against...
  15. So a lot of people were asking me where i've been and such the last year basically. So today was my last day of junior year in high school (what many say is the hardest year...) so I wasn't around very much...or at all.... But now school is over, I'm headed to Boston to see my Giants take on the Boston Red Sox (and hopefully beat them...) as well as chill...
  16. i always use convection when i am baking. I think that regular doesn't distribute the heat properly and there are weird spots that aren't as cooked as others. I would splurge and go for the convection, a little extra money, but i think that food tastes better when cooked with convection
  17. yay i feel loved hah i've been at school. today was my LAST day of my junior year in High School. This year has been ABSOLUTELY CRAZY sooo much work. But today was my last final (BIO...) and then i had a giant birthday/ end of school party after school today and it just ended. I'm coming back

  22. This is the other story my mom wrote in the San Jose Mercury News Seven years ago, a family discovered firsthand the most precious gift of all By Debbie Duncan For years I had seen reports on the evening news of the Doobie Brothers' annual concert at Children's Hospital at Stanford. While the hospital is no more than two miles from my home, I always...
  23. if she is having a pain pump put in then she will probably be in the hospital cause that is not an outpatient procedure.
  24. i've never heard of gluten in a IV anyway and I've never heard of that kind of pump, when I had cosmetic surgery mine was self-admisistering pump so i don't know about that, when exactly is your surgery, you should talk to the doctor before and ask about all the meds they will use, then ask for the brands and the phone numbers for the companies and call them...
  25. anesthesia is fine, I have been through many surgeries and pain pumps for me have usually been morphine and they are self-administering where you punch the button when you want the meds and only when you want the meds. IV meds are almost always free of gluten and they are directly into the blood stream so they don't go into your intestine and I have always...
