ARCHIVED Please Read - No Celiacs Can Have Soy!
flagbabyds replied to srokie's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
your personal tests say that YOU are allergic to casein but not EVERYONE is it just depends on the person. I am soy free but that is b/c i have an anaphalatic reaction to corn and soy but i know many celiacs who can do soy just fine. -
ARCHIVED Newly Diagnosed
flagbabyds replied to JenD.'s topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome! first I have to say that my dad grew up in Peoria but we don't live there anymore. I would say go lactose free for a while cause that is what most people do. For calling manufacturers just call and ask if the product has gluten and have the product with you so you have the bar code and such. -

my reactions have changed as i grew up. when i was a baby it was always D 24 hours after the exposure. Then i didn't get gluten all through elementary school but in 7th grade it caused mood swings and my thyroid levels to go dangerously low and create a whole mess of autoimmune disorders. now it causes nausea and that is stopped by taking fennergen casue... -

flagbabyds replied to Corkdarrr's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
it's very normal for your symptoms to evolve over your life. mine have changed frmo when i was a baby and now every glutening they are different but i can always tell in someway taht i have gotten gluten in some form. i dunno why it is like that but it is just your body's response and it c an change over hte years, months, or even days. -
ARCHIVED New To Celiac......
flagbabyds replied to daltons's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Many companies have a list of their online products for that company. I know that fritolay has a list and you can also look in the site index (on the left side of the board) they have a list of safe and forbidden ingredients Nini's survival kit is also very good and I would look into it and talking to Nini. -
ARCHIVED Is Wish Bone Italian Dressing Glutan Free?
flagbabyds replied to Electra's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
not listing wheat however, does not mean that it is gluten free. there are some companies that will list if it contains gluten clearly on the label but do not rely on something saying wheat free to be gluten free. -
ARCHIVED Breakfast-pot Luck Style
flagbabyds replied to angel-jd1's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips

ARCHIVED Please Refresh My Memory.
flagbabyds replied to Tony'sMom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
That sounds like celiac to me. just know that each person's symptoms vary from preson to person so you can't base his symptoms off his brother's but to me (i was diagnosed when i was 20 months) it sounds like he is a celiac. -

do you live near san francisco b/c if you do Crave bakery in SF makes cakes that are gluten-free/CF/SF and are really good!
-
actually according to my GI doc of 15 years celiacs are considered high-risk and should get the shot because if you get the flu then your immune system could get thrown off or if you get gluten posioning then you could have more of a chance of getting the flu because your immune system is weakened from the gluten posioning.
