  1. Thanks Pele for the encouragement! It gives me hope too and i do feel like i've improved more lately. I'm doing ok with just eating the legal foods i'm tolerating so i think i'll stick with that for another month or so then maybe try eggs again and nuts again. I envision myself being able to eat all of the scd legal foods one day and that would be enough...
  2. Hi everyone, I haven't been able to get on lately...i don't know where the time goes most days. It's bedtime every night before i know it! Jan - thanks for the information on the sublingual B12 a few posts back. I hope you're feeling better from the bacon. It's so discouraging to feel bad after trying something. This month will be 7 mths for me...
  3. Happy Belated 25th Birthday Whitney! I hope your cake turned out well and you tolerated the rasberries ok!
  4. Hi everyone, Jan - what brand of B-12 do you take? I had been using pure encapsulations sublingual B-12 but it has some stevia in it so i quit using it. I can't seem to find an SCD legal B-12. I take Freeda B-complex along with the Freeda multivitamin. I probably need to get my B-12 level checked. Rinne - I have been poaching or roasting my meats...

    ARCHIVED Parasites

Thanks Ali and Jan for starting this thread. I've been wondering if parasites might be part of my slow progression to not being able to eat more SCD legal foods. The last 2 weekends i've juiced about a third of a garlic clove w/carrots and last weekend i added a little kale. It seems if i dilute it with a little water as Elaine suggests when first starting...
  6. Rinne - sorry you're having computer woes but good to see you. I found some organic ginger and will be trying it soon...i sure hope it agrees with me. I just love ginger and miss it! Whitney - forgot to mention in my previous post but i would think it's the seeds too so hopefully you'll ge able to eat them.
  7. Whitney - It's my new favorite thing too! I look forward to it every morning. Oooh, peaches sounds really good too! Juli - I wasn't sure about carrots and banana together but those 2 foods i can tolerate and i thought the carrots replaces the pumpkin and the banana can replace the egg so i tried it and i loved it!
  8. Thanks so much Jan for the very helpful information! I have some grape fruit seed extract that i may try next. Last Sat. i juiced carrots with 1/2 clove of garlic (@ 4 oz) and i diluted it with water and drank it after eating lunch. Later that evening my tummy was rumbling and i had some pain and gas. I had a little of the same Sun. too but i do think...
  9. Hi Ali, I had read somewhere (but can't remember where) that you can freeze DCCC and I've frozen the Friendship brand DCCC and thawed it and it was fine. I think they even mentioned in some recipes it does better after frozen and thawed. I think on the package i had it said you can freeze it for up to 3 mths. Unfortunately i couldn't tolerate it the...
  10. Congratulations Juli! I'm sorry you're having problems. I'm no help with what it could be but i agree with Ali that maybe it's just the baddies took a little longer since your flora had changed. I also wanted to thank you for posting on the SCD recipe thread the mock pumpkin danish - i can't eat pumpkin or egg but i kind of made my own version of mashing...
  11. Hi Jan, I hope that it helps you. They weren't as tender this way but I may have let them boil a little too long before turning them down to just kind of poach but they were good. I may need some anti-fungals so if I can become brave enough i'll try the garlic and olive oil. I tried a little kiwi on Wed. and it gave me gas and a rumbly tummy so i...
  12. Thanks so much for the helpful information Mia. I really appreciate it and it was very helpful. I don't think i have a problem with histamine or have fructose intolerance since i'm able to eat carrots, bananas, avocado, asparagus and green beans. Once my stomach settles down from eating the pork tenderloin i'll try a little spinach again just to make sure...
  13. Hi Mia and welcome dtgirl! Mia can you tolerate ripe bananas and/or avocados? Sorry, you've probably mentioned it before. I often wonder if i have fructose malabsorption and even histamine intolerance. The only foods i'm able to tolerate right now is all meat (no additives and organic seems to do best), fish, romaine lettuce, cooked carrots, asparagus...
  14. Hi Jan, I don't eat any honey either and chicken broth bothers me (mainly cooked a long time w/bone-in chicken) which Rinne had pointed out that it could be glutamates from the long-cooked protein. So I've boiled/poached chicken breasts for about 50 - 60 min. and have been eating those and have had a little of the broth and i think it has helped not eating...
  15. I'm going to try this, thanks Rinne. I used to make hot tea with fresh ginger and i tried it in the very beginning of scd and it may have bothered my tummy a little but maybe not now. I love ginger. I used to also add it to my juicer along with carrots, kale and sometimes a little fresh garlic and it was very tasty - i used to add garlic whenever i felt...
  16. Hi Julirama, I loved the results of flax oil also - it helped with my mood, hair, joints and skin. I hope fish oil will give me the same benefits. I found the info. below that Elaine said about flax seed oil and seeds. She mentions if you're not eating ground up almonds you don't need the oil which i'm not eating any nuts right now but i hope the fish...
  17. I love yoga too and hope to start back doing it. It helps a lot for me to stretch. I have a DVD that i've done in the past and am trying to find the time to get back into it. You guys have motivated me!
  18. Hi nmr and welcome! I have had the panic feeling of what to eat also since i can't tolerate that many foods either....i don't really get them anymore though so hang in there, hopefully it'll get better for you. When i try something new and can't tolerate it i get frustrated but here lately i'll try not to get frustrated and just continue cooking the foods...
  19. Hi wschmucks and dmarie, I wasn't sure what the muffins were either until i think Sherry had posted about the nut muffins helping w/constipation. Dawn - eating a good bit of veggies helps me also and since I've added a salad it has helped. Yesterday i started drinking more water and using crohnsboy.com's protocol (thanks Rinne for posting this!) and...
  20. I used to have high cholesterol too until I went gluten free in Jan. of 08 (my LDL and HDL was high but my ratio was good so my Dr. never recommended meds thank goodness). In July of 07 my cholesterol was around two hundred thirty something and July of 08 it was around one hundred and seventy something (can't remember exactly) but i do remember it had dropped...
  21. I'm sorry Pele that this person said this to you. It's amazing how some people can be so ignorant and have no compassion. I wouldn't know what to say either although the rat poison thing sounds good! As Rinne mentioned i've learned to try to avoid people like this also. I would think this person is the one with the problems - sounds like they are...
  22. Sorry, i accidentally posted before replying! Hi Juli, I feel the same exact way - no one i know eats like me (besides you girls!) so I'm the black sheep too! But that's ok, we'll be a lot healthier in the future!
