  1. Oh good, thanks Sherry. I think i remember reading the goat milk is a little runnier. I guess i could use a half a cup of this batch to make my next batch? I can't remember if i read where you may not can do that with goat milk yogurt. I did a search but can't seem to find a toothpaste that's SCD legal. Is there a certain kind we should use or does...
  2. I do, right on top. I used a long meat thermometer so i hope it was reading ok....it seemed to be. I had to put it laying slanted in the pot but it was covered in the water really well. I used it also when i was heating the goat milk to 185 degrees. The yogurt is pretty runny so i hope i did it right - it tastes really good. I would like to drip it to...
  3. It tasted really good.....the best yogurt i've had! I used goat milk and as April said it is a little tangy but i really like it that way. It tastes similar to buttermilk and i love buttermilk but haven't had it in a long time. It was not real thick but i think i've read where some of you had said yours was like that also. I made some gelatin today with...
  4. Thank you so much Sherry, this helped me so much! I made some goat yogurt last night with the pure encapsulations probiotics. I followed your instructions exactly and my thermometer has stayed right at 110 degrees the whole 24 hours! Yay! The heating pad stayed on med. the whole time. I heated the goat milk to about 185 degrees and let it cool to...
  5. The library called today and told me the book was in so i went at lunch to get it. Yay! I'm about to start reading it. I looked at some of the recipes on-line today and some of them look really good....especially the cookies and muffins. It seems there's not many ingred. in a lot of the recipes which i like. Hopefully quicker and easier to make so it...
  6. Hi Sherry, You did mention the duck eggs and i forgot to mention that in my previous post. I'll search around to see if i can find some. I've never seen them anywhere but there's an Earth Fare about an hour away and i shop there every now and then. Also, there's a Fresh Market about 45 min. away and they may have them - they probably have the DCCC. ...
  7. Hi AliB - I'm glad you were able to tolerate them again....hopefully that'll be the case for me. Maybe i should try eating egg whites first. I've read some people can't eat the egg whites and some can't eat the yolks but that could have been they were allergice to one or the other....can't remember exactly. I hope you get to eat the runny yolks again....
  8. Thank you Pele for looking that up, i really appreciate it. Yes, it is defiinitely not SCD legal. I had bought it 2-3 wks. ago before looking into the SCD. I had decided to not buy it since i've been avoiding eggs because it has so much "stuff" in it and i knew i did better on fewer ingred. in processed things, but i think i was going to try a recipe using...
  9. Thank you mftnchn! That's very encouraging to hear some have been able to reintroduce foods later. Thank you also for letting me know there are some egg-less recipes out there. I'll do a search for some. I have bought some EnerG egg replacer but haven't tried it yet and i'm not sure if it's SCD legal. I'll have to do a search for that too. I went to...
  10. Hi AliB and April, Thank you for your responses. Yes, AliB, the bad breath has been awful and the bad taste....ugh! Mine has gotten better since i started scraping my tongue every morning and every night and taking probiotics (i noticed today my tongue no longer has the white film on it). Also, rinsing my mouth out with grapefruit seed extract mixed...
  11. Hi, I'm thinking about starting the SCD - i called the library today and they didn't have it but should be getting it in in about a week or so. What little i've read about it i think i'm pretty close to eating that way except for eating processed rice and corn chips, Mary's gone crackers and sometimes i eat enjoy life bagels for breakfast. I would cut...
  12. Hi Donna! Thank you for your reply! There's so many nice eyeshadow colors that i want to try but i'm thinking do i really need that many!? lol I'm trying to be conservative since i feel like i spend so much money now on gluten-free food....but it's all worth it! I haven't ordered anything yet but may end up getting the eyeshadow sample kit since i can...
  13. I felt much better after about 2-3 weeks of being gluten-free. My stomach pain, soreness, and gas went away and i could get up and down from sitting and go up and down stairs much better without feeling like i should be 90 years old. My joint pain improved tremendously and my mind is sharper and clearer and memory is better. Of course i've had my share...
  14. Thank you Juliem and MNBeth! I really appreciate it! Wildflowers and babybath sound great....maybe i'll order both! Is it hard to apply these as eyeliner? I've only used an eyeliner pencil - do you use a special brush? Thanks again! fig girl
  15. Hi Ladies, I've been using Everyday minerals off and on since April but within the last 2 mths. have used it everyday and just love it! Cool Medium and Cool Med. Summer seem to be working well and tinted silk dust and email for my blush. I would like to get some eyeshadow and think wildflowers and bundled up for a highlighter may work well. I'm looking...
  16. Hi, I've been gluten-free for 7 mths. and felt so much better for a while but now am discovering other food sensitivities (hopefully temporary) with eggs, tomatos, i think vinegar, hemp and dairy. I have gotten dizzy with a glutening and my feet, legs, arms and hands will go to sleep very easily (i guess that would be neurological but not sure if that...
  17. Thank you all so much for your replies. Maybe it is just a sensitivity to the hemp or a delayed reaction of something else. I was really bummed thinking it was the hemp milk because i thought i might have found a milk i could use that was very healthy and good and they have it at my local Kroger. How long does it last after opening? I think it says...
  18. Hi, Recently i've been only eating safe foods that i know don't bother me and tried the rice and bean casserole recipe that was posted on this site (sorry, can't remember who posted it but it was so yummy... thanks!!) but the next day i woke up with a very sore stomach (like i do when i've been glutened). It only had rice, beans, corn, rotel and Cracker...
  19. Hi, I'm a newbie but just wanted to say Congratulations! Good for you and I'm glad you're starting to feel better....it gives me hope! I was just thinking tonight about my 1 year of being gluten free when I was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner and heard on the tv that Jason Mesnick was announced as the next Bachelor (noticed you're from Seattle - he...
  20. Thank you so much Bea. I have taken ReLife's gentle cleanse (can't remember the exact name) and the regular cleanse a couple of years ago (before gluten-free). The Health Food store i shop at carries ReLife products so hopefully they have it. I think i'll try it instead of getting more of the VSL #3 - i took some last night and my stomach was rumbly today...
  21. Hi, My Dr. put me on VSL #3 suspecting SIBO back in July and i have been taking it but have read that it may contain small traces of gluten and i believe i'm really sensitive. I've been gluten-free since Jan. 08. The VSL seems to have helped but i can't figure out if it's bothering me. I got a box from the pharmacy right after my Dr. prescribed it (before...

    ARCHIVED Sibo

Hi, My Dr. diagnosed me as gluten sensitive in Jan. 08 and as having sibo in July and prescribed me VSL#3. Has anyone used this? I've read a few posts on here about this and it seems some were concerned that it may have traces of gluten. There's not a phone no. on the package i have or the website. I have the unflavored and the ingredients are lactic...
