ARCHIVED The Worst Canker Sore Outbreak Ever
veggienft replied to bigapplekathleen's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Epstein-Barr virus attacks nerves and the immune system, and gluten attacks the same things in some celiac patients. The nerve-related autoimmune diseases multiple sclerosis and ALS have been associated with both gluten and Epstein-Barr. Mouth sores from a virus like Epstein-Barr would probably be from nerve aggravation. Since celiac disease is essentially... -

veggienft replied to glutenfreewithease's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Looks like flax oil for your omega 3. The advantages of L-carnitin and alpha lipoic acid are that they are already in the form used by the mitochondria. Visit this site, and it will explain more: Open Original Shared Link Whenever anyone mentions life without carbohydrates, people treat him/her like he/she just endorsed suicide. People have two... -
ARCHIVED Supplements
veggienft replied to glutenfreewithease's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Take Acetyl-L-Carnitine, better known as L-Carnitine, take R-Alpha Lipoic Acid, and take 1g to 2g of omega 3 fish oil supplement daily ......all in addition to B-complex and C. These are the important supplements for celiac disease, and for all other mitochondrial disease. You can get the benefit of L-carnitin from beef and from from rosemary. You... -
ARCHIVED gluten-free Diet Research Papers
veggienft replied to Osprey101's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Somehow I doubt you'll find a study of gluten-free diets, or anything else for that matter, which shows them to be safe. Studies find things wrong, or they don't. If a study fails to find something wrong, does that mean nothing is wrong? No. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. The study you're looking for would test for side effects of... -
Gluten intolerant people, including celiacs, should appreciate peanut "allergy". Celiac disease and its gliadin autoimmune reaction have been recognized and studied for many decades. More is known about celiac disease than most other autoimmune diseases. Almost from its discovery celiac disease has been associated with its cause. Celiac is caused...

ARCHIVED Candida Treatment For A Child?
veggienft replied to AMQmom's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
As a decades-long candida fighter, OF COURSE I have tried the supposed anti-candida diets which continuously rely on SUGARy fruit. They don't work. Why? Because the point is to cut down on...... .......sugar. People greeching their diets with things like neem oil, olive leaf extract, etc have to add those things because their addiction to sweets forces... -
ARCHIVED Dropping Blood Pressure

As an asside, are you eating any kind of mint? If so, stop. Otherwise, stop eating nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and eggplant) until you figure this out. After that, you may reintroduce them slowly and individually. Regardless, take TrillumHunter's advice. Medical intervention is indicated. .. -
ARCHIVED Candida Treatment For A Child?
veggienft replied to AMQmom's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
......no bugging to it. I just hope what I've learned can help. The digestive system turns all starches into sugars, but at a regulated rate. So eliminating the intake of sugar is not really eliminating all sugar from the gut ....just the out-of-control sugar. And so it goes with fruit. It's mostly sugar. How much fruit to feed is up to you and your... -
ARCHIVED Candida Treatment For A Child?
veggienft replied to AMQmom's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Eliminating sugar is the stumbling block and the single most important part of the diet. Without eliminating sugar, it won't work. If you concentrate on anything else, you'll shift the emphasis and the blame from ......... .......sugar. Concentrate on the .......sugar. If you and your daughter can pass that test, then worry about anything else. ... -

Simple diet really. No sugar. Come back for some additional diet tweaks if needed. .. -
Try cutting out sugar. Open Original Shared Link The theory is, you get a fungal overgrowth which includes fungus cells which mimic gluten protein. First you react to the fungus, and then to the gluten. You've cut out the gluten, but you haven't removed the fungus. Gut fungus thrives on sugar. Try not eating it for a few weeks. Good luck. Tell...

ARCHIVED For Long-time Strict Gfers With Depression/anxiety
veggienft replied to eLaurie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Ditto on cutting down on carbs. Medical science used to lump depression and bipolar disorder into a catchall called "mitochondrial disease" .....meaning the mitochondria you inherited from your mother was inferior at turning food into energy. And that disturbance led to others. There's also lots of recent research showing that omega 3 fatty acid is instrumental... -
ARCHIVED Does This Sound Like Candida?
veggienft replied to Lshetler's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
What you find "hurtful" I find probable. Someone thinks they can take some cure for candidiasis, and go back to doing the things which feed the candida. Either that's the right thing to do, or it's the wrong thing to do. Even a compromise position between yours and mine would not block out either strategy ........even to guard someone's feelings .......rub... -

I'm sure there are several people who disagree with every posted theory. That's why I forwarded so much of the structure of my model. I disagree with your explanation, but I would not have confronted you over it. I found that I have celiac disease after a couple decades battling progressive candida infestation. I've tested this model on myself, and it... -

Unfortunately there's no hard fast rule about what body types get fungal overgrowth, or what lines they have to cross to get it. One thing's for sure, when you get it, you'll fight it for life. You're lucky if you get the opportunity to fight the fungus and lengthen your life. The problem for some people is the cure. Most westerners are addicted to sugar... -
ARCHIVED Do I Have It Or Not? Some Say Yes, Some Say No
veggienft replied to TimothyRyan's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I chimed in earlier and told you there was something else going on. Now reading your subsequent posts, I can guess with fairly good accuracy what's going on. You need to stop eating sugar. Let me repeat. Stop eating sugar. When you contract a viral or a bacterial infection, it has one genetically preprogrammed method of gaining a foothold in your... -
ARCHIVED I Had Antiendomysial Ab Titer Of 1:40, Do I Have celiac disease?
veggienft replied to dogle's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
A "homeless" person sleeps on a steam grate in the winter. His arm gets burned, and he goes to a free clinic. The doc examines his arm. It's red and inflamed. The hair is all burned off. But the doc says "It must be something besides the steam grate, because there's no skin missing. Go back and sleep on the steam grate until it burns a couple layers of... -

ARCHIVED Why Does Gluten-free Improve Autism?
veggienft replied to veggienft's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My point above is that maternally inherited mitochondrial DNA can dictate the mental development of children by impeding their response to carbohydrates and glycoproteins like gluten. You would have to start your children on a selected elimination diet before or as they start mental development to get a full benefit. Open Original Shared Link ... -

Ditto to what Happygirl said. You have celiac disease. When you were eating gluten, you tested positive for the antibodies. Now that you are off of gluten, you no longer have gluten antibodies. People don't stop having celiac disease. Now you have something else going on. * Test your reaction to sugar and fruit. The problem would be candida fungal... -
ARCHIVED Diagnosis
veggienft replied to Live2BWell's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
In Shay's absence, I'm gonna try this. The lead effect of intestinal celiac is the production of gut tissue transglutaminase (ttg) enzyme. It coats the intestinal lining to identify it as having been compromised by gliadin, the protein in wheat gluten. That's because the gut immune system thinks gliadin is an attacking antigen .......like a virus or a bacteria... -
ARCHIVED Why Does Gluten-free Improve Autism?

Thanks for your reply, especially your explanation of a teratogen. I was kinda hoping my posts would die a quiet death, because via further research, I found they contain yet another error. Your clarification of gliadorphin and casomorphin as opioids are valuable. I did not include them because my post was already excessively long. The other error... -

Revision #2: Sorry. Apparently I crossed the genes and causes in two experiments. The GSTP1 marker I listed above goes with the corresponding link and experiment. However, GSTP1 is a human gene, and not a mitochondrial marker. It is theorized that the presence of an acid at birth, contributed by the mother, causes a mutation of the gene in the offspring... -
ARCHIVED Why Does Gluten-free Improve Autism?
veggienft replied to veggienft's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Okay, I'm not the best closer. Here are the last two paragraphs in English: Celiac disease and autoimmune disease result when gluten, in combination with environmental stimuli defeat our inherited epigenetic method of digesting gluten. Autism seems, via teratogenic mitochondrial DNA deformation, to represent the total absence of the epigenetic-ly inherited...
