ARCHIVED Can Ssris Stop Celiac Symptoms
veggienft replied to Gutbomb's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I've been waiting for someone to post on this board that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's) were inhibiting their celiac symptoms. The following studies showed that SSRI's are reasonably strong anti-fungal drugs. One would have to speculate that SSRIs' only ability to combat depression lies in its anti-fungal action: Open Original Shared... -
ARCHIVED Should I Do A Self-diagnosis Experiment?
veggienft replied to fnord's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
By the way .......if you should decide to try brewing your own gluten-free beer, it is imperative that you get it tested by as many people as possible. -
ARCHIVED Celiac - The Autoimmune Connection
veggienft replied to veggienft's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yours is the type of situation I was referring to when I posted: "It's apparent that many people who get sick from gluten can't get away with cutting it out of their diets. To you people, my heartfelt condolences. I hope, after proving that gluten gives you a recognized, named disease, you can get away with cutting out gluten. It seems like the skeptics... -
ARCHIVED Celiac - The Autoimmune Connection

Read the links rachael-24 provided. https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/does-candida-albicans-trigger-the-onset-of-celiac-disease-r687/ Open Original Shared Link The study is actually more important than it looks. It was a large pier-reviewed study, published in the British journal Lancet. The implications, as we stated, start with immune systems... -
ARCHIVED Celiac - The Autoimmune Connection
veggienft replied to veggienft's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I too think the implications of this research, that all autoimmunity has a common, treatable cause, are interesting and fascinating. I thought it quite significant that Dr. Feldman said TNF-alpha cytokine blockers would "provid(e) therapeutic targets for all unmet medical needs" However, it makes me cringe to see posts which insist that celiac disease... -
ARCHIVED Celiac - The Autoimmune Connection
veggienft replied to veggienft's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
The short answer: Yes, I'm down with that. The long answer: Keep in mind, my contributions essentially represent stuff I've read which I think I can support. Antigens are usually foreign attackers in the form of undigested harmful proteins and microorganisms. The immune system works by identifying and attacking: 1. Antigens. 2. "Self... -
ARCHIVED What Is This? Warn 0% Box Box Box Box Box

ARCHIVED What Is This? Warn 0% Box Box Box Box Box
veggienft replied to ravenwoodglass's topic in Board/Forum Technical Help
I received a 33% warn because I pointed out the "inappropriate" behavior of one of the moderators here. So far on this thread the moderators have kept hidden the other effects of your "warning". The warning levels probably go by thirds. With a "33% warn", my namesake can respond to posts and initiate threads, but when I initiate a thread, the "Views"... -
In the "14th Day" thread someone asked what rheumatoid arthritis (RA) genetics has to do with celiac genetics. The answer deserves a separate thread. It's becoming apparent that antibody cytokine chain reactions are autoimmune causative facts. The question before medical science is where on this cytokine chain to make a stand. ARCHIVED 14th Day Back On Gluten
veggienft replied to Gerri's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Okay .....deep cleansing breaths. It's apparent that many people who get sick from gluten can't get away with cutting it out of their diets. To you people, my heartfelt condolences. ARCHIVED 14th Day Back On Gluten
veggienft replied to Gerri's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Why would anyone do this voluntarily? The test may or may not show whether you get sick when you eat gluten. And you don't know the answer? .. -
Taking pain pills for post-stress muscle aches is not a good life plan. Planning a new stress incident this way is bad. Every pain reliever, regardless of its chemical methods, has drawbacks .....ways it harms your body. You should build up to large physical stresses with progressive smaller physical stresses. The way muscles become stronger is...

There is no evidence showing an increase in western environmental chemicals over the last 50 years. On the contrary, western countries have been so rabid in getting rid of chemical processes that the resulting shipment of manufacturing processes and jobs abroad is strangling our economies. The list of banned substances is staggering .....aerosol solvents... -
That reads like a lipid function. Funny you should dredge up this thread in this way. I just started researching lipids on the internet. Lipids are simply cholesterol. Lipids seem to be the body's vehicles for proteins and their effects on membranes all the way down to cell walls. Lipids are used this way because they have the capacity to be fluid, have...

ARCHIVED Do I Have Celiac?
veggienft replied to BuffyKat's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You don't need to know the name of your disease. You need a cure for your symptoms. If the diet cures your symptoms, then stay on the diet. You don't need your doctor's permission to try the diet. But if you think you do, then ask around. Find a doctor who will tell you to try the diet. If the diet works, tell people you have celiac disease. .. -
ARCHIVED Newbie With Some Questions
veggienft replied to PurelyCanadian's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You have it correct. The question before you is, will refraining from ingesting gluten stop your symptoms. Your answer will be: * I don't get sick when I don't eat gluten * Eating gluten makes no difference You can get tested for celiac disease. If the test comes back positive, then you'll have a name associated with "I don't get sick when I don... -

We've dealt with this in our family. It looks like mucous, most GP's would call it mucous, but it's probably reconstituted fat. You are probably not reabsorbing bile acid, probably because your liver is producing insufficient cholinesterase. Try cutting out tap water. Drink only purified water, distilled, deionized or reverse osmosis purified. It worked...

"Pre-diabetic" is an intentional misnomer. Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is the correct term, and there's only theoretical linkage to future diabetes. Most type 2 diabetics go through a phase of hypoglycemia. That does not mean all hypoglycemics become diabetic. They don't. I'm an example. As the evidence indicates, hypoglycemia is different diseases...

Are you also taking ibuprofen? A close relative of mine read the testimony of an internet poster. The poster said his/her joint pain was caused by ibuprophen. ARCHIVED Digestive Problems: Celiac Or Anxiety?
veggienft replied to WriteBrained's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You're a minor, and your parent(s) have the final say. As with all mental changes, anxiety is chemical. Google "adenosine". Adenosine is a major human enzyme. Adenosine is responsible for the system-wide reduction of inflamation, including nerve inflamation. Adenosine under-supply has marked effects on the electro-chemical workings of heart rhythm. Anxiety... -
