  1. a lot of people dismiss the whole food combining ideas, including doctors i truly admire... however, i have found that the food combining rules apply to me 1/2 or most of the time. i believe in it to an extent for sure... if i have fruit- i eat it by itself or way before a meal. supposedly if you eat fruit after a meal it can sit in your stomach and sour...
  2. oh, im not expert at all... all i know is that i was being tested for Lupus. and when my pattern came back "speckled", they decided to test me for Sjorgens. so then i googled ANA Speckled and up came Sjorgens and Celiac... so that was my laymans presumption
  3. all your tests mean is that you are negative on the Antigliadin igg & iga. i was negative on both of those too. (**** i only had the regular antigliadin, not the newer Deamidated test) you could be Iga deficient and be either negative or positive on those tests really... an Iga deficiency MAY lead to lower Iga numbers and therefore make your result...
  4. how long has he been gluten free?? I would assume u may see neurological and behavioral changes in him. Good luck with everything
  5. they cant diagnose u with Sjorgens JUST based on the ANA test. i think that's ridiculous. i think your signature says u had a Speckled Elevated ANA.. i did as well... when i looked at my test results over this last year, as i was piecing together my Celiac-> i saw that i had a Speckled Elevated ANA too- and that is why they tested me for Sjorgens - because...
  6. wow... that would be confusing... try to not get distracted by nurses or any other medical professional including a doctor who doesnt fully understand Celiac & Gluten Intolerance. there are 2 genes that are associated with Celiac- BUT there are so many MORE that the medical community just arent looking at yet. they've already started diagnosing Celiacs...
  7. do u maybe have some TMJ?? i have it a little- and chewing gum aggrevated it BIG TIME... i rarely chew gum now. the only thing to do for it really is learn to relax and unlearn the clenching of your jaw. massage can help- actually when a therapist diggs into my traps and occipitals-> sometimes that releases my jaw (cause everything is connected)....
  8. agreed! whenever i drop the grains/carbs/sugars, i drop weight. get plenty of sleep, so your body will make enough Human Growth Hormone. and get out and do cardio 5-6 days a week- like an hour walk & jog.. an hour jog/walk may be more fat burning than a 20 min Run. u can do it
  9. Total Iga Serum is a seperate test. it measures how well your immune system is working. if your Iga levels are below the normal range- then your TTG IGA at 7 could be innacurately low and a false negative or false weak positive.
  10. no, only had the ANA back in the 80's. it was elevated and speckled- so they tested for Sjorgens antibodies- but that was negative. i havent had the ANA retested. did they dx u with Sjorgens based on a specific test- or were they guessing? it seems like a lot of these autoimmune diseases they diagnose by guessing or ruling out the others. i THINK ANA...
  11. Total Iga Serum Tissue Transglutamase Igg & Iga Antigliadin Antibodies Igg & Iga Endomysial Antibodies **if they have the newer test for: Deamidated Antigliadin, then also order that. order ALL of these tests!!! you need a complete picture- because many of those tests could be negative or weak- and you'll need all those results cause one...
  12. what was the dosage? and- i had never heard of taking 2 days off, 5 days on... your doc suggested that?? i DID also have some palpitations in the 1st week- but those went away... however the anxiety stayed and the hair loss worsened. good luck
  13. yes- it's very likely that your dad and aunt had Celiac or Gluten Intolerance... and no- it is not common for doctors to consider Celiac or test for it- it should ALWAYS be considered with those symptoms ALWAYSSSS basically unless u live in Italy or Finland- you have to be your own investigator and test orderer its beyond enraging to me how behind...
  14. SUE: sorry, i would not have referred to u as "above poster" but i was on my phone and didnt see Jason: was looking at your "signature"... you've had elevated fecal antigliadin, all the IBS symptoms, and you have a DQ8-> i really dont think you need an official Celiac diagnosis... i would just assume you do and call it a day. oh, and of course always...
  15. country girl: hi, the many foods you described in your first post do not involve FM- except for the honey. i have some FM- and i feel so much better since eliminating most of the foods. it's a relatively new concept- and if you google Fructose Malabsorption & the FODmap diet-> you're going to find several different variations of food lists. if...
  16. wait wait wait a second... did u say u have DH ???? if yes- then you have Celiac... blood tests run about 20% on the false negatives. there is still so much the medical community is learning about Gluten Intolerance- they are really just at the tip of the iceberg. i read a medical article the other day- where they are testing children for a totally...
  17. jason, im not familiar with the tests u mentioned. Like above poster said, i assume the docs tackle each autoimmune condition seperately. There is the ANA test which i THINK is a general indicator pointing to any autoimmune disease. When i was 14, my ANA was elevated, and i had a face rash- they thought i had LUPUS. Then they checked for Sjorgens... Both...
  18. it could be that u were just recently glutened, and your gut hasnt healed yet.?? if i get glutened- it can take me a good 3 weeks sometimes to get back to regular digestion- so in that first few weeks- i really cant judge what im eating because it ALL could be hard to digest. that being said... after mostly or all healed- i sometimes have to eat smaller...
  19. u can have Celiac or Gluten Intolerance and be overweight for sure. i always was heavier while eating gluten and usually constipated... i would get the "D" with Milk products... but my body has always been the type to HALT metabolism and swell up when im sick or have "D"... very survival mode.. plus there's other things at play that could make u put on...
  20. i would say it's pretty impressive- that you had already been gluten free for 3 months- and yet- your antigliadin iga & igg were positive! weak positive, but still positive. regardless of what they dx u with- if you feel better off gluten, than stay off... after 3 months you were still making antigliadin antibodies- that means something.
  21. CHRIS!!! yes- ok, in my honest opinion, i would guess that u have AT LEAST Gluten Intolerance (perhaps Celiac), possibly a B12 deficiency (tingling in limbs), and possibly a Hypothyroid (pain behind the eyes, hair falling out). we've all had many of your symptoms & they're so classic for what im guessing you could have. 1st off- there's...
  22. hi Pac- ya, i am having AWFUL reactions to my pill as well. i am on a brand name Synthroid (T4 pill like u). it brought my TSH from 11.39 to 4 but did nothing to alleviate my Hypo symptoms AND gave more panic attacks and more hair falling out and a new symptom: an ACHE in my thyroid itself. im beginning to HATE T4 MORE than i hate Gluten. no lie. 1st...
  23. OMG i wish i could eat pears (but cant cause of fructose issues ) cause PEARS always gave me the best results the following morning!!! i hope i can eat those again in the future
