  2. Heineken is my beer of choice and beer is the one thing i miss the most. I dont drink much but the fact that i cant drink beer ever is making me want it more. when my symptoms start getting better i may try a Heineken and see what happens. since i am still having symptoms as of now i probably wouldnt be able to tell much. if anyone has tried Heineken and...
  3. kathyhay, i think the healing process is quite different with each individual. i did notice a difference right away, just in the fact i havnt been in constant pain all day lately. i still have pretty bad stomach pains at certain times in the day, but it isnt as constant. i dont really expect to be back to normal for quite some time, but i do feel like...
  4. i have been contacting some company's of food brands that i eat often and have found a few that say they always list wheat on the label if it does have gluten in it. 3 that i know of that do this are: hershye's kraft ben& jerry's does anyone know any other brands that have this policy? i am so new to the gluten free diet that i am still...
  5. hi everyone! yesterday was 1 week gluten-free for me and i have an amazing amount of energy all of the sudden, my stomach pains are already getting a lot less severe and the constipation problem is getting better!!! what is weird though, is now i'm having a couple new problems: headaches & insomnia. i have been having headaches everynight, and have...
  6. ok...i just went to nancy's website and answered my own question. Yes, all of our cultured dairy and soy products are gluten-free. There is a small possibility of a trace amount of wheat-peptides in the small amount of vegan amalyse enzyme we use in the amazake, but no gluten. Most allergies are to gluten. so this is my new yogurt. it is very good...
  7. i have been eating the stonyfield farm flavored yogurts. ( i thought i had read somewhere that they were ok) but i just found this on their website: Though we don't add gluten, there may be trace amounts of gluten in our yogurt, which come from the processing of the fruit and flavors with a grain alcohol. The only flavors we can be absolutely certain...
  8. for anyone experiencing constipation: try psyllium seed. it really cleans out your colon when you are backed up for days. taking it on a reg basis for a few months will really help.
  9. i just want to reply here becuz i am new. this forum is such a relief. I have had severe stomach problems for 4 years. i have had x-rays of my stomach and numerous blood testing and they couldnt figure out what was wrong. after the last blood test, i got a note in the mail saying " you are alergic to gluten" nothing else. to be honest i didnt even know what...
  10. i have noticed vanillin being on some gluten-free lists but i have also seen it on NOT safe lists. hershey's syrup is on the gluten free list and does have vanillin so i'm thinking it may be ok? i love chocholate and a lot of it has vanillin so i really need to find out for sure if it is gluten-free.
  11. amy's rice pizza is the best!! the crust does cook really fast thought, so be sure to check it often. i actually cook it at a lower temp than the package directions say. i actually think the crust taste better then reg pizza crust!
  12. thanks! i eat yogurt everyday for breakfast so that is good to know. my brand before i found out about the gluten alergy was brown cow, but i do not belive that is gluten free i have been trying to find a new fav that is gluten-free but havnt had much luck.
  13. smirnof vodka is on a lot of the gluten free lists i have looked at, but when i went to buy it today the bottle said it was from grain alchohol. i ended up getting monopolowa, but it was a bit pricier then smirnof. I also love that smirnoff makes different flavors!
  14. thanks for the responses!! it seems i will have to check out this tinkyada...can you get it at most health food stores? i dont have a car so it is easier for me to shop at the thriftway by my house and the gluten-free pastas are few and far between. i really should go to a health food store and stock up!!
  15. i guess you can say i am paranoid, i have a seperate drawer in the fridge that i keep non-gluten-free products in for my son, i make him put his dishes in the right side of the sink and mine in the left and i wash them with seperate sponges.
  16. does anyone have any favorite gluten-free pasta's? I am not a huge fan of rice pasta. I am also curious about pesto sauces. The jar i have lists "spices" as an ingrediant...so i'm a bit leery. thanks
