ARCHIVED The One Symptom That Won't Go Away
lilliexx replied to lilliexx's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
i dont eat much lactose iether, i drink soy milk and eat dark chocholate. i do eat cheese , but i dont think cheese and yogurt effects people with lactose intolerence. it doesnt really matter what i eat. i seem to get the gas after every meal. i hope it goes away with time, but in the mean time is there something i should take for this? -
ARCHIVED The One Symptom That Won't Go Away

I am not really sick anymore, but still having major gas and loud stomach growling. it happens pretty much when i eat anything. my stomach doesnt hurt, but the gas is so bad it feels like something is alive in side of me. (yikes) i am not sure if this lingering symptom is just something that takes longer time to heal..or if it is something else not related... -

ARCHIVED Does Anyone Else Have Trouble With Popcorn?
lilliexx replied to LJCurly9's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i have a hard time with any corn, but its probably due to the fact that it is harder to digest...but when you have a really messed up stomach you cant eat much without some kind of reaction..... -
ARCHIVED How Long Before You Figured It Out?
lilliexx replied to Twister2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
splenda is gluten free.....( unless somethings changed very recently) anyway...in my first few months of being gluten free i was soooooo careful!! but in the last month i havnt been that careful ( stopped reading labels, becuz i thought i had it down) but i have been having pretty bad stomach problems in the last couple weeks. so even when you think... -

ARCHIVED Blood Test Results Within Normal Ranges
lilliexx replied to dbuhl79's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
hi i posted something in one of your other threads too. i am sorry you are having to go through this. my recomendation is that you get another doctor, and keep looking until you find a good one. i had a terrible experience with a lousy doctor once too. I was crying in her office because i had been having stomach problems for so long and didnt... -
ARCHIVED Backtracking! Frustrated!
lilliexx replied to dbuhl79's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am a bit confused by this. If your gluten sensitivity test came back negative, why are you convinced you have celiac disease? were there other tests? I think a blood test from your doctor would probably be pretty acurate. stomach problems can be caused by so many different things, and it could be something quite serious so i'm not sure if self diagnosis... -
ARCHIVED How Long Does Constipation Persist.
lilliexx replied to Mballerina's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
hi.. i had the very same problem, and this is how i got back to normal. I stopped eating all processed foods, corn, dairy soy, & fruit. my constipation went away immedietly. I discovered it was the milk that was causing the problem, not gluten. i also took citrucel every moring and added flax seed to my food. you can grind it up in a coffe grinder... -
ARCHIVED Amstel Light
lilliexx replied to WayneB's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
are your gluten symptoms always that bad?? it actually sounds to me like you may have the stomach flue. I have never in my life had symptoms like that from gluten. i know everyone is different, but that sounds a little extreme for a gluten reaction. -
ARCHIVED Gluten-free Beer
lilliexx replied to WayneB's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
i drink heinikin all the time now.....one time i had a stomach ache in the morning, but it was probably coincidental.......99% of the time i feel no symptoms whatsoever... im not sure if its becuz i am not effected by barley or if in fact it really is gluten free.. i will also add...that i never have more than 2 beers in one setting, so it may be different... -

ARCHIVED Did You Go Gf And Casein Free At Once?
lilliexx replied to a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i stopped gluten first, then lactose, and finally corn. since giving up all three i am finally feeling back to my normal self. It took about three months of experimenting before i figured out what was bothering me. I strongly reccomend elimination diets. -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Binge On A Celiac Attack?
lilliexx replied to Mballerina's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i am gluten intolerant ( non- celiac) i had severe stomach problems on a daily basis for 5 years. I have stopped eating wheat gluten and my stomach is normal now i am not really effected by barley gluten so i still drink beer. I know i shouldnt, but since it doesnt give me problems that i can feel its a lot easier to justify having it. Beer is the only... -

today i went to a pizza place i used to go to all the time, the guy asked me why i dont go in there and i told him i found out i cant eat wheat, and he actually said he didnt think pizza dough had wheat in it and since i ordered a salad w/ no crutons or dressing he put twice the amount of chicken and other ingredients people usually seem to be pretty... -
ARCHIVED Energe Brown Rice Bread
lilliexx replied to lilliexx's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
well i did buy a loaf of the plain white bread some time ago, and it was so horrible. it was really hard ( not soft like bread should be) and had a really weird taste. Im thinking i may have just gotten a bad loaf, becuz i hear other people mention liking that bread. i guess i will take a chance and buy this loaf. I just hate to pay 6.00 for something... -
ARCHIVED Question About Food Stamps...
lilliexx replied to littlemonkeys's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
i agree with richard!! I was buying specialty products a lot, but now i save them for special occaisions. i am slowly learning how to eat the foods i used to eat, minus the bread. for example, i used to love chicken fajittas, but instead of buying gluten free tortillas, i just make the filling and eat it on a plate w/o the tortilla, or make a sandwhich... -
ARCHIVED Are There Different Kinds Of Gluten Intolerences?
lilliexx posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have a general question about gluten intolerence. I have been thinking lately that there might be a possibility that i am only sensitive to wheat gluten. So is it possible that one could be sensitive to one gluten and not others?? Why is every person with celiac sensitive to wheat, barly and rye gluten but not corn gluten?? it just doesnt make sense to... -
i agree with getting tested for other alergies/food intolerences.( or better yet doing an elimination diet) I was having a bout 50% good and bad days untill i recently gave up milk, corn, rice & fruit. Now i am having nearly 100% good days I am slowly bringing back every thing i have eliminated. starting wiht rice and apples, and havnt had a problem...

wow...i can not believe these people how did they get jobs in the first place if they dont realise that bread has wheat in it!!!!! I dont eat out often, but i did have breakfast in a restaurant recently and told the waitress to make sure there wasnt any toast on my plate!! She didnt ask why, but asked if i would like fruit instead!! ( so yes, there... -

lilliexx posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Amusing, If Painful, Restaurant Experiences
lilliexx replied to anglepoise's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I can not believe that waitress said that to you!!!! I worked in the food service industry for years and believe me I have seen a lot stranger requests than no dressing on the salad!! In fact that is a rather common request. I think that waitress was just way out of line, and i seriously doubt most people in restaurants would treat you like that, so don...
