ARCHIVED Iron Deficiency Anemia & Celiac DiseaseMollyBeth replied to milelj's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Hi there! I was dianosed with a positive biopsy but my doctor first started looking into to the disease because of my chronically low iron. My blood tests started coming up with low iron when I was about 18 (I'm 25 now). Then in the last couple years my protien levels were coming back low and nothing was helping. I took iron supplements forever that just...

ARCHIVED Headache After Switching To gluten-free....?MollyBeth replied to Krystle56's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease this is just a shot in the dark and I'm certainly not an expert but maybe the headache is a reaction to withdrawls your body is having from the gluten?? Just a thought. Also, If you're only one day free of gluten...maybe it's just a headache...not related to your diet or gluten at all. Best of luck with yor new lifestyle! I'm just four weeks into all...

ARCHIVED Good Article Or Info On Cross Contamination Or Ppm?MollyBeth replied to stolly's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs You should have them read this site... Maybe if they read the first person stories about how sick people have become after getting glutened from such small amounts it would help. But I can see how a published book or article might carry more weight...

ARCHIVED IronMollyBeth replied to num1habsfan's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications This may be a stupid question...but do the pills have gluten in them? I took Iron pills several years ago before I was diagnosed and they made me so sick I have to quit taking them. Then I switched brands and it got a little easier. You should talk to your doc.

ARCHIVED Need Opinion Frm Men Over 50 Years OldMollyBeth replied to debmidge's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff I'm not a man over 50 years old. So I'm not sure if this is the advice you want but this woman is definitely off her rocker. I'm 25, single and a very hard worker. I have a terribly hard time finding someone to date. But finding someone to date when you have no standards and only care about finding a person to support you rather than love you maybe it...

So last week I was on vacation. I went home to see my family and it was great because I live far away and don't get to see them very often. I'm also not going home for the Holidays this year so it was a special trip. Now, my family is very supportive. They weren't at first but have done some research and now realize how big of a change this is for me...

ARCHIVED Is It Too Late For Me?MollyBeth replied to miss vivian's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Hey Miss Vivian, I'm new to all this myself and you are right...It is so overwhelming and it can get serious...but it's also very manageable. Once I figured that out and got organized around my house...making the transition to gluten free went well for me. Some hope for you with the tremors when dozing off to sleep...I had this problem my whole life in...

I've been gluten free for about two weeks now and I've had the opposite happen to me. Before I felt hungry all the time and often overate but now I eat a meal and it fills me up. I've been eating a lot of meats and raw vegetables too since I started with the diet. I guess this isn't a really helpful response but I just found the reversal interesting.

ARCHIVED 2 Yr Old -neg Blood, Dr Wants BiopsyMollyBeth replied to MomJDL's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I had a negative blood test and a positive Biopsy. Also, I agree with djmom. You need to decide what to do with your own child on your own time. You don't have to decide anything by Firday. What's going to happen if you don't? All the Doctors of the world are going to stop doing Endoscopies? I think not. Tell your Doc to cool it. I'm happy I decided...

ARCHIVED Cinammon Rolls--uh OhMollyBeth replied to celiac-mommy's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips Thanks for the recipe! I'm excited to try them! What do you use in your own flour blend? I've found several online I could make up for myself but was wondering what ones were tested and easy to make, use, and keep?

Hey! I had an H.pylori infection back when I was in college. It felt like normal acid reflux times ten! I had really bad chest pain. I took the prev pack and that got it all cleared up. I would definately move my apt up. My chest pain got so bad that I had to go the the ER and then they gave me one of those yucky green shots that numb your insides....

Is there a free clinic you could go to anywhere? The antibiotics would help you a lot. Also, I was on prednisone towards the end of having mono. It really helped with my energy levels. If you don't get some rest though.... You won't get better. You have to slow down and sleep sleep sleep. If you don't get over it now you may start to fel better for...

ARCHIVED Newbie With QuestionsMollyBeth replied to RobinAnn's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Hey RobinAnn, Welcome to the site! I'm just starting my second week on the gluten free diet and I noticed results almost instantly! I'm still have some digestive trouble on and off but I'm guessing my body is still flushing gluten out. Some people on here say it was two years before they were completely back to normal...some say it takes six months. ...

ARCHIVED How To Convince Family (and Doctors)?MollyBeth replied to MountaineerBeth's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I'm going to have to second Shay's response. As you well know...just the thought of giving up things like bread and all our favorite processed foods can be a challenge. It sounds crazy to me but some people would just rather deal with the symptoms than go through the hassel of changing their diet. When I first had my blood tested back in August I was...

I'm just days into my Gluten Free Diet. This is day five to be specific and it's been going well. I found a store that has a huge selection of gluten free products...including some pretzels that I actually like better than when I was still a member of the Gluten world....and I know some would say it's too soon to tell but already I am more regular in my...
