    If there is no wheat, barley, malt, or rye listed then it is gluten-free. Smuckers won't hide gluten in natural flavorings. If you are referring to the Goober peanut butter/grape jelly combo jar then it is gluten-free for sure and something my gluten-free daughter loves! . Tania

    Per General Mills, all the chex labeled gluten-free (including the honey nut chex) are made in separate facilities to make sure there is no cross contamination. Are you sure you have a new box of chex that says "gluten-free" on it? The old boxes are still on the shelves some places. Also, it could be the milk on the cereal that is causing the problem...

    While there are lots good gluten-free options for breakfast foods, one lesson I have learned is that a celiac kid does not need to eat breakfast foods for breakfast or dinner foods for dinner.     My daughter had constipation as a symptom prior to dx (never vomited). After 3 years gluten-free she was given the wrong pasta in a restaurant and began vomiting within a hour. We haven't had any other gluten exposures since then but I definitely think the vomiting was a gluten reaction. Tania

    Discount School Supplies sells a gluten-free play-doh. Paints need to be checked. Crayola, Prang, and Roseart are fine. Preschools also like to use cheerios and pastas for arts so you'll need to send in gluten-free stuff.     I called San J which makes San J Wheat-free soy sauce (it is gluten-free, too) last year because of the same issue of never knowing when we'd need soy sauce. They said that their bottle label does suggest refrigeration but that it is not necessary.     One suggestion: Do your bloodwork in 6 months following your partially gluten-free diet and see how you respond. If the bloodwork is still elevated, I'd consider a stricter gluten-free diet. Tania

    They just changed Centrum for children and it is not gluten-free anymore. We haven't found another one that is gluten-free and appealing to our 4 year old's taste.... Tania

    The fluoride treatment for kids that our dentist uses has gluten in some of the flavors but not all. I call and re-check before my daughter's visits and he uses the gluten-free one.     Original size bar is gluten-free, Snack size milk chocolate bar is gluten-free, minature size bars are NOT gluten-free. Chocolate ghosts, bats, and reese pumpkins (in combo bag) are gluten-free.     Yes, my daughter is a different kid. With gluten she is lethargic, irritable, very short fuse, whiny, and only wants to lie on the couch and watch tv. Without gluten, she is energetic, wants to play outside, has a longer fuse (for a 4 year old), and is just plain a happy kid. Tania
