  1. Wow! God! Shoosh! I am completely overtlywhelmed by your plethoral Knowlege of Hillbilleze. Lizard - ratty sofa, truck on blocks! Amylase -no teethe, brother love! "Vice is nice, but incest is best". Don't got no bro will 1st cousin work? Juggernot - Afgans for curtains! Why not the dogs or peeps? Tres- Sqoorl stew, Possom roast, already...
  2. Poor little Elsie! Who could do that to a dog? I used to love Thanxgivin, but not so much lately. We go to my MIL at 12:00, and then my daughter's at 5:00. Which means I'll have to make a gluten-free turkey dinner a couple of days before to take to both places and I'll be so sick of all that I'll barph! Oh, well, I guess it's the peeps, not the food...
  3. Maybe cut out the dairy -that's a problem for many of us. And, if you're not used to a major increase in fruits and veges, you're not used to a lot of fiber. Try going slowly on that. Good luck to both of you. Susan
  4. Hi and welcome to this board. The people on here have saved me on many occasions, and you will find the info you need. It would help if you gave a little more info. Do you live alone, or share housing with gluten eaters? Do you have a kitchen? How skilled are you at cooking, and how much time do you have to cook? Post a little more info and tomorro...
  5. I worked in an Old El Paso factory in my youth. which was centuries ago. I'm sure everything has changed because back then, it was in Stoughton, Wi. I lasted 3 days -most of the people I started with walked out on !st break! They were gluten free, but I won't eat them!
  6. We need to start a new thread in this topic. I don't know how to do that, but my Father was an alcoholic who died when he was 63 of colo-rectal cancer. Too many similarities here to ignore. I don't know if he had celiac because he was not one to complain about anything. My Mother had chron's, which could have been missed dx'd celiac in those days, and...
  7. BTW - 2WEEKS AND 1 DAY SMOKE FREE! And I feel GRATE! And cheezy.
  8. 2 weeks and 1 day smoke free! I feel so good. I can now say, "I am a non-smoker". Husband still smoking, but that's his biz -he smokes in the basement. Wish he wasn't, but untill I got it into my head that it was up to me alone, I wouldn't quit. There'd always be a smoker to blame it on! Susan
  9. I winced at the thaught of that!
  10. Can you post the recipe for the Better Batter clone?
  11. Forgot to ask. Happy Thanksgiving, Canada. Do you have any traditions (like turkey dinner) or special ways of celibrating?
  12. Cillies seem to be phallin like phlies. Hope y'all feel better! Sorry to hear about you husbands MIL, Raych. 2 weeks! Wow. Hey, Jude, did you find a home for Velcroe? And, Jess goin to Hawaii. And not taking me! I don't smell, either. Well, at least no one knows that because NO ONE ever comes to Ohio. I want to do somptin different in this...
  13. It sounds like a downer weekend for a lot. Let me tell you about my train trip. It started in Alliance, Ohio at 1 am. Couldn't sleep before cause I have sleeping problems (no biggy, light sleeper). Boarded an Amtrack train. Sat in the lounge car all night talking to my Grandson and smokin. God, the good old days when you could actually smoke in public...

Juuude, are you driving to Ca? Stopping at the Grand Canyoun? We went via train a few years ago. It was awesome -you won't be dissappointed. And, Em, where are you...
  15. I hadn't ingested gluten for a month before my bloodwork, so of course it showed up negative. I didn't know but the Doc should have. Then, I was told to eat one piece of bread a day for 3 weeks to prep for the endo. That was not enough. He biopsied one spot and declared me not celiac. Of course, the fact that I felt great off gluten and was sick as a...
  16. I eat quinoa with no problems, but I don't eat it that often. I think the advice to switch out and reduce your carbs is a good idea. I don't eat the same carbs even 2 days in a row, although I dug up a huge potatoe crop, so this presents a problem, as I love potatoes, and am notoriously cheap! I see from other posts that you have a problem with your...
  17. An unbusy Saturday. DD went out o'her way to bring me new patches so I could continue being a non-smoker. That surely is love! And, she's 3/4 Irish witch explains a lot of kindness. Glutened meself today being just plain STUPID. Because I'm all Irish. We just like what we like. My evil Rushin twin is way too smart to ever do that. Jagnut - I hope...

    ARCHIVED Thanks

Ken, You have helped me greatly, and, your travels have inspired me. Indian food is still a mystery for me, even though my Grandfather was born in India. I remember eating curry as a child, but have never cooked with it. So, the thanks go two ways! Susan.
  19. Petraviovich Illnya Sawyerlastolstoy Can't speak for the rest of the Ruskins ( none of us can) and can't speak for meself. As none of us can. The coasts are beautifyl, but the mid earth is lacking in geografical intuition. Butt, peops living in the US, do you know that the east end will soon be flooded and the west end will slide into the sea? The...
  20. Has anyone made Frico? I haven't made it for awhile, but it's basically fried cheese (oh, my suffering, clogged heart!). Put some OO in an omelette pan, then shred some mozzerella or provalone into it on med heat. When it starts to melt and brown, add some sauce and sprinkling of pre-cooked toppings of your choice. Put some more cheese on top. When bottom...
  21. Whots wit da pain? Did ya get gluttoned or what's goin on? We worry about our Mother Theresa!
  22. Random men on the street. I'm married so, sorry Mandella, can't help you. Hmm....random men on the street. Maybe I can! Thanks, Jephucka. R. Sleezy Questionne. If it happens thousands of miles apart, is it still considered an orgyanism?
  23. Do you have an IQ higher than 63? If not, do you at least have an oz. of common sense? Right now, I don't think my Doc has either! Susan
  24. Hi. I usually use Betty Hagemans easy pizza crust and ,once in a while a french bread recipe. I have a bunch of 7 inch cake pans that make 5 individual crusts. I bake them till just shy of done, then throw them in the freezer on bake sheets. When frozen, i remove them, put sauce on them and back into the freezer on the bake sheets. When the sauce has...
  25. Welcome K Dog, Did you live anywhere near Madison? I moved here from Lake Kegonsa, which is just south of Madison. Mushroom has given you a lot of good advice that I can't really add much to, but feel free to ask question, or just talk, or if you feel the need to vent, this is the place to be. There's always someone who can help you out. Again, welcome...
