  1. Thanks for that link! I have some new places to check out on my next visit to NYC!
  2. Ooh that sounds good! I rarely head over to Reston Town Center, but it's nice to know that there's a gluten-free option. I am still trying to make up my mind about Cakelove!
  3. I would recommend the Great American Restaurants chain (Carlyle, Mike's American, Silverado, Jackson's, etc.). Clyde's is also very good about accommodating gluten-free diners. Will you be driving around the area or will you be on the Metro?
  4. Thanks! I will definitely use this!
  5. I eat at Chick-fil-a at least once a week and never have any problems. I eat the grilled chicken breast, waffle fries, and BBQ. The only time I had a problem was when the cashier (who was obviously too busy to pay attention to what I was saying) rang up my order as the regular chick-fil-a breast instead of grilled. I ran out of there without checking my...
  6. Good to hear about your Guapo's experience, Christina. I'll have to give it a try! I had good luck at Silverado in Annandale and Carlyle in Shirlington (both in the Great American Restaurants chain). I got glutened last Friday, but I'm not sure if it was my lunch (I ate a beef kebab with rice) or if it was what I ate at Mike's American. I asked for...
  7. We'll see how my sister does with the tall, dark and handsome with a drippy Italian accent request! Other than that, I'll see how she does. I asked her for Rustichella d
  8. Hi Everyone! My sister is going to Italy tomorrow (Rome and Florence) and asked me if I want her to bring back any gluten-free for me. Are there any brands she should specifically look for? I've heard good things about Bi-Aglut pasta, but are there others that you have found are good? Cookies? Crackers? Thanks!
  9. That's a bummer! I am going to Chicago next month and was looking forward to trying Portillo's. Guess I'll go back to Adobo Grill!
  10. msmini14, I didn't know that you could bring in your own stuff to be mixed in! That's awesome! I've had Cold Stone since going gluten-free, and I haven't had a problem. The prices OTOH, make me not feel well. I think they're kind of expensive just for ice cream! Good luck, GeordieLass!
  11. Yeah, the pizza is kinda pricey. I can't remember how much my total was, but I know once I added the price for the topping, gluten-free crust, delivery, AND salad, my bill was pretty high. Restaurants.com has gift certificates on sale pretty often (usually a $25 gift certificates cost $10.). I got a few $10 gift certificates yesterday for 90 cents each...
  12. I had it at the Duke Street location in Alexandria! To me, it's much better than the gluten-free pizza at Uno, which I did not care for at all. The only thing that could use some help is their sauce, which I find to be a bit bland. I like a nice zesty sauce. Several of the salad dressings are gluten-free as well so I will definitely be going back!
  13. Sue, California Grill is in Disneyworld. It's in the Contemporary, and it's a great place to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks!
  14. Hi Sweetfudge! I didn't think about the gluten-free syrup either! I ate my waffles on that first morning without even thinking! I think I just got so frazzled by how busy the food court was. That was one of my main complaints about the resort. That food court was out of control in the mornings! I will try the pancakes next time. Thanks for keeping...
  15. Sue, I ate my burgers at the Liberty Inn and at Cosmic Ray's. The bun at the Liberty Inn tasted better than the one at Cosmic Ray's although I don't know why since I think both places use Ener-G buns. Maybe it tasted better to me at the Liberty Inn because I was so excited to be eating a hamburger! It's even weirder because I bought Ener-G bread once I...
  16. Thanks for your input, everyone! I have no idea what made me sick, but I hope to have better luck next time!
  17. Hi Sue! Disney really treats their guests with allergy well. I went in November, and I'm going again this October. Like Laura_g said, if you call them, they'll e-mail you a bunch of Word documents that list the restaurants that serve gluten-free items, and even a list of the brands they use. I didn't feel all that well after eating a hamburger at...
  18. Hi all! Whenever I go eat PF Chang's I get my food to go. My usual order is Lettuce Wraps and the Chang's Spicy Chicken. And maybe some cake. The other night I went there with a friend, and we ate in the restaurant. I ordered the Lettuce Wraps and they were served on top of some crunchy white noodles. When I order the Lettuce Wraps to go, they...
  19. Thanks, guys, for your replies! Trying to figure everything out has been really tough. Jenny, yes, I had the test done, but I was not smart enough at the time to ask what this "test" was called or for a copy of my results. Now I know better so I am going to call my doctor in the morning and ask for this info. Cross-contamination could definitely...
  20. Hi everyone! I am new here. I do not have celiac disease, but I have been gluten free since October. I had a blood test done to see if I had celiac disease, and it came back negative. My gastro told me just to not eat gluten anymore if it was bothering me. He made it sound simple, and I hope he was right! I have been feeling pretty good up until recently...
