  1. I have been watching the show cook yourself thin on lifetime everyday. Pretty much everything they cook is gluten free. You can change out the whole wheat pasta for brown rice pasta or quinoa pasta. The only thing is the desserts. I am working on making their desserts gluten free with buckwheat flour, brown rice flour, and tapioca flour. I think buckwheat...
  2. I don't understand how some babies are already diagnosed. My son's pediatrition said he hasn't had enough exposure to wheat, barley, and rye for antibodies to be built up. If he were tested now, he would get a false negative.
  3. I used to have migraines daily before going gluten free. Now I never get them. I do get an occasional headache but that is rare.
  4. Eat beans and rice. There are a lot of recipes online. Even if you only eat it once or twice a week, it can save a lot of money. Cut up zuccini really thin (you may need to buy a special slicer or use a potato peeler) and use that in place of pasta in pasta recipes. You can use eggplant to replace lasagna noodles in lasgna recipes. I have heard of people...
  5. If you have the iphone there is an ap that helps to figure out if something has gluten or not. I have the tmobile g1 and there is not any aps for it. Clan Thompson also makes software for mobile phones. Theirs doesn't work on my phone either so I can't give a review.
  6. I made a list of low calorie gluten free foods here: www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=58044

There is a link between PCOS and celiac. I am not sure why your doctor would say there isn't. having gluten sensitivity is the leading cause of infertility. I have ammenorrhea and now since going gluten free i have periods.

  9. In addition to knox plain gelatin, you can also use eggs whites for a binder. Double the knox in what it calls foor xanthan gum.
  10. Try switching to brown rice. It more nutritious and it will keep you full longer. There is minute brown rice available if you hate waiting for it to cook. Regular brown rice takes 45 miinutes to cook.
  11. I don't think your doctor even tested for Celiac. I had all those same tests done and they all came back normal. I had 3 addtional tests done specifically for Celiac and 2 out of 3 were positive. It is a special blood test where they check for antibodies. IgA tests. I had to specifically request these tests. My doctor doesn't know anything about Celiac. Go...
  12. Has anyone bought any of the No Weight Gain cookbooks? If so, how are the recipes? I am thinking of trying them out. I became overweight before I knew I had Celiac. Does gluten intolene cause you to become overweight? I have gained a lot in recent years. I was only diagnosed a few months ago.
  13. I've had everything but blackouts and VVS prior to going gluten fee.
  14. Are you allergic to all meats or just certain ones? I am thinking (I could be wrong) that your parents are from another country and in whatever country they are from, food allergies are not tested for or common. I am the first in my family to be diagnosed with Celiac. I believe there are lots of us and I urge my family to be tested and get ignored. ...
  15. After being called a hypocondriac my whole life by doctors and family, it is nice to know I am not one.
  16. If you google flourless muffins, a ton of recipes pop up. Some of them call for almond flor or chopped up almonds. I'm sure you could substitute the almond flour for soy flour. There is a flourless banana bread recipe online also.
  17. Have them use powder free gloves and be careful of tooth polishes.
  18. There is a bunch of children's books about celiac. www.glutenfreepassport.com/books/kidscorner.html
  19. I would have to think that maybe you've always had gallbladder issues. Maybe you are just now getting symptoms. I had my gallbladder removed when I was 17. (I'm now 29.) The doctor said I had it for years just didn't know it.
  20. You can make your own rice flours with a coffee grinder and a flour sifter. I believe it has to be sweet flour for it to work. Just make as much as you need at a time. As for the xanthan gum, you can substitute it with knox plain gelatin.
  21. Here is a website with links to multiple restaurant gluten free info: Open Original Shared Link
