  1. If your uninsured and low income you should be able to get medicaid through your state health department. My blood test came back barely positive and my doctor told me to go gluten free. I probably was barely positive because I never cared much for bread and rarely eat it. So there was not probably much gluten in my system.
  2. My Fried Chicken Recipe: 1 Whole Chicken cut up 3 1/2 Tablespoons salt 1 1/4 cup corn flour or cornmeal (whatever you have on hand) 1 1/4 cup rice flour 1 cup gluten free breadcrumbs 3 1/2 Tablespoons pepper 7 tablespoons paprika 2 teaspoons garlic salt 1 1/2 tablespoons ground mustard 1 1/2 tablespoons ground thyme 1 1/2 tablespoons basil ...
  3. My hair falls out by the handfuls and I am only 29. This has been going on for years. I am going to switch to a sulfite free shampoo once I find a job and can afford to do so. I heard that sulfites in shampoo can cause hair loss.
  4. Did you check the ingredients on the yogurt? Some yogurts and ice cream contain gluten.
  5. Daisy Fuentes has a new hair care line that is paraben free and sulfite free. It is only sold at Walgreens. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to. I didn't notice any gluten ingredients. But I am not an expert.
  6. I won't buy meats sliced at the deli. Too much risk of crosscontamination. Some of the glazes on other meats like hams can contain gluten. Applegate Farms, Boar's Head, Hormel Natural Choice, and Welshire Farms all state on their websites that they are gluten free. Jenny O also has some gluten free meats. Check their website to see which ones. I beleive Oscar...
  7. If you google Celiac Pamphlet a bunch of links to pamphlets pop up.
  8. I am 29 years old. I have always had issues with my period. I have never had regular periods. I have gone 18 months without a period. I started to have regluar periods about 45 days apart after going gluten free. Now I am not having any. The doctors don't know the cause. I was on birth control when I was 16 to reglulate my periods. I took myself off of it...
  9. I looked online for bean flour recipes.... and the only thing it is used for is to thicken soups or make bean dips. It also can be added to baked goods to add protien.
  10. I never used it myself. I don't really care for the taste of bean flours, but I would mix it with other flours. Mix it with a starch at minimum.
  11. There is a few lists online. You will need to check labels to ensure the foods are still gluten free. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  12. Maybe your energy drink isn't gluten free. What else is in it?
  13. I still had muscle aches for a while after I went gluten free. I don't remember when it stopped. Although, I did notice the last time I took a long walk (about 3 or 4 miles) I didn't have the usual muscle cramps in my legs like I usually do. I have been gluten free for 3 months now and I can finally exercise without all the pain.
  14. If eating gluten free makes you feel better, then stick with it. I also have a bloated stomach. I look about 4 or 5 months pregnant. I have had people ask me when I am due. Pretty embarrassing to tell them I am not pregnant. I have been gluten free for 3 months now and I still look pregnnat. I don't know how long it takes for the stmach to go down. I've had...
  15. I wish I could go. I don't have $65.
  16. If blood testing and biopsy were negative then you don't have celiac. You might just be allergic to wheat. You can find out if your allergic to dairy, wheat, soy, or eggs with an allergy test. Celiac is an autoimmune disorder, it won't show up on an allergy test.
  17. I have used accupuncture in the past for my TMJ and migraines. It worked very well.
  18. I am half Mexican and I beleive I inherited Celiac from my Mexican side of the family. My grandmother had many symptoms and I beleive she died because of undiagnosed Celiac. She was morbidly obese and tried many diets but could never lose the weight. She also had some brain tumors removed and cronic migraines and TMJ. I have a cousin who just died a few months...
  19. I forgot to add, you also need gluten free pasta. I always have that on hand when I want something quick and easy.
  20. You can't just purchase one type of flour to replace your wheat flour. You will either need to buy a variety of flours and make your own blend or buy a mix. I just buy different flours and mix them as I make items. You need a rice flour. (you can use other types, I just prefer rice flour.) I usually go with brown rice flour as it is more nutritious. You also...
  21. I don't have those allergies neither does my child, but there is an egg replacer you can find at the health food store you can use in place of eggs that you would use in any recipe. You can also use 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons of water to replace eggs in recipes. For milk he can have soy milk. I heard that if you are intolerant...
  22. Cream of Rice cereal grits Chex Van's frozen waffles ( I heat them in oven)
  23. you can cut it up into fry shapes and dip it in oil and put it in the oven and make polenta fries.
  24. Coconut oil is gluten free. I would watch for a reaction to the sulfites. Some people are intolerant to them. I can't drink any wines that contain sulfites.
  25. Indian food! I love dal! It is made from lentils. I had some yesterday. I made some rice with mixed vegetables and cooked it in broth. Add the vegetables toward the end of cooking time or it will end up mushy. You can add spinach to the lentils toward the end also, if you like spinach. I grilled onions and garlic and when the lentils were cooked, put the...
