  1. I have had two children prior to diagnosis. They both came out fine and healthy. You have an advantage as you are gluten free. You have nothing to worry about. Just eat healthy and your baby will be healthy.
  2. Are you sure they are headaches and not migraines? Migraines can be caused by lack of magnesium. I would try eating foods high in magneisum and see if that helps. You should eat brown rice instead of white rice. Beans have a lot of magnesium too. Black beans, navy beans, and white beans have the most. Fish has a lot also. Halibut and tuna are good sources...
  3. I got the link. It is easy to remember so you don't have to send me your email. www.bestglutenfreepasta.com
  4. That is sweet! Is he looking for any employees yet? I live in Warren and am in need of a job. I am willing to wait a few months till he opens up his shop. I am a stay at home mom right now.
  5. They do have a gluten free line. I haven't been able to find them in my local grocer. They have a list of products on their site. They make gluten free breads and tortillas. Breads: White Rice Rice Almond Raisin Pecan Whole Grain Brown Rice Rice Pecan Whole Grain Bhutanese Red Rice Bread Multiseed Rice Bread Tortillas: Whole Grain Brown Rice...
  6. I know of a gluten free pasta cookbook. Its an ebook. I need to find the link then I will get it to you. I may have to email it to you. I get online on my wii and its not easy to post links on here. Send me a message with your email and I will send it to you.
  7. Quinoa is gluten free. I did notice when I eat it, it does cause me to need to use the restroom. I believe that is because it is so nutritious that all systems are working properly.us
  8. I never knew that TMJ was connected to celiac. I got diagnosed with TMJ 9 years ago. The mouth guards do not help. They made things worse for me. The only thing that has helped is muscle relaxers. I have also done accupunture for it and that helped also. I just read a book about TMJ and it said to keep cotton in your mouth during the day so you don't...
  9. I do taxes for a living. WIC has nothing to do with your taxes. You can be on cash assistance and still get the earned income credit as long as you have worked for part of the year. The only qualification for the earned income credit is that you WORKED for your income and are under a certain level of income depending on whether you are married or not and...
  10. If you buy frozen vs fresh vegetables it can be cheaper and cut some costs. Frozen vegetables are sometimes 10 for $10. I recently bought some frozen fruit 10 for $10. It was strawberries and blueberries. You have to watch the ads. Only buy fruit and vegetables that are in season unless you are buying frozen. I posted a link to an article that shows...
  11. I have a cousin with an autisitc child. I am wondering if maybe she has celiac.
  12. I believe you can buy grits in a box like the oatmeal packets. I found some gluten free frozen waffles. The brand is Van's. I found them at Mejiers. Cream of Rice doesn't take that long to cook. What about quinoa flakes?
  13. I found a list of shampoos that are good for eczema. Can anyone tell me if any of these are gluten free or not? I can't be the only one with eczema and celiac here. Nizoral Shampoo Aquaphor Body Wash Selsun Blue Medicated Formula Neutrogena T-Gel Head & Shoulders Tar Shampoos Gentle Naturals Cradle Cap Treatment Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo...
  14. The contact information for Costco is 1-800-774-2678 and customerservice@costco.com
  15. I am still learning what ingredients are gluten and whatnot so I can't say yes or no. I found this ingredient list from 10/01. I don't know if it has changed or not. You may have to contact Costco and ask them. I beleive they have an email on the website. Ingredients: water, marionberry puree, strawberry puree, sucrose, corn sweetner, banana puree, raspberry...
  16. Anyone know of any Asian Markets around here? I haven't found any and I want cheap flour! Even a middeastern Market would be nice. I think they have special flours too.
  17. I wash my hair before I go and come in with wet hair. I did that prediagnosis too to save money since they always charge extra for washing hair.
  18. I just stumbled across this site. It has a month's worth of meals. It is also nutritionally sound, not just cheap. I already did my shopping for the month. I will try this next month for more variety. It is based on a family of four. Open Original Shared Link
  19. I make my own pancakes and brownies. Sometimes I make cornbread and banana bread. The only premixed flour I buy is The Gluten Free Pantry Sandwich Bread mix. And that is cause I can't make a successful bread LOL
  20. I have read postings on craigslist about that bakery. People have posted do not apply there because she doesn't pay you and treats her employers badly. I also heard that her "homemade" pies are not homemade at all. She uses stuff out of cans. There is always an ad on craigslist looking for employees. I also heard that the place is nasty. You wouldn't want...
  21. I have broken down a few times last week and ate gluten. I had funnel cake and some of my boyfriend's cheese bread sticks. I was just so hungry and there wasn't much for me to eat around here. I felt so sick afterwards. I was constipated and all bloated. I am currently unemployed and living on food stamps. It is very hard to keep stocked up on gluten free...
  22. I don't travel too far out of my area. The furthest I go is to Mejiers on 16 and Van Dyke. I wish I lived closer to the areas that have a lot of gluten free friendly foods. Where is this bakery? If I ever go out that way, I might check it out.
  23. I have 2 recipes. The first is from no weight gain cookbook and the second is from Taste of Home website. Pie Crust: 1 cup gluten free oats 1 cup finely chopped walnuts 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup honey 1 tablespoon maple syrup 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Mix all ingredients. Spray pie pan. Pour mixture into pie pan...
  24. I haven't found the Betty Crocker gluten free mixes yet. I just live without desserts unless, I make it from scratch. If its $2 more, I will never buy it. A lot of times the stores around here have 5 for $5 sales on Betty Crocker mixes. If that's not going to include the gluten free mixes, I will live without.
  25. According to the Clan Thompson website, it is gluten free. They keep that site pretty updated. I would contact the company to be sure, if you are that worried about it.
