I had just ate before going to the doctors and I was waiting for maybe an hour and I walked there which takes about 20-30 minutes. He just did a regular blood sugar finger prick test. ARCHIVED Cause Of Frequent Urination And Extreme Thirst
daphniela replied to daphniela's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I just went back to the doctor and got my urine tested again. There was no sign of a UTI. My white and red blood cells were normal. But I had blood and protein in my urine. He gave me more antibiotics. This time a different kind. I have been gluten free for about 5 or 6 months now so this isn't a reaction to gluten. He sent my urine to the lab for further... -

daphniela posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I was given antibotics last week for a bladder infection. It has not cured me. I am still having the same symptoms and my doctor also tested my blood sugar and it was normal. Is it still possible I am diabetic? Could I have just happened to be normal that day? If not diabetes, then what else could it be? I am only 29 years old. 4'10" 127 pounds at last weigh... -

ARCHIVED Substitute For Chili Powder
daphniela replied to GlutenGalAZ's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I am Mexican and grew up eating beans and rice. Cumin is used in most Mexican cooking. If you have ever had enchiladas, it is in the sauce so you have probably tasted it before without knowing it. I would use salt, garlic, onion powder, mexican oregano (if you can't find it reglular oregano is fine) and cumin. -

ARCHIVED Xanthum Gum Vs. Guar Gum
daphniela replied to TotalKnowledge's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I use knox geletain instead of or in place of xanthan gum or guar gum in recipes. There is basically three things you need in a flour mix. Your main flour which is brown rice flour for me and then a starch (cornstarch, potato starch, tapioca starch or arrowroot starch). You can use more than one flour for your main flour and more than one starch as long... -

ARCHIVED Xanthum Gum Vs. Guar Gum
daphniela replied to TotalKnowledge's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I have never tried guar gum so I don't know and I have never really baked with xanthan gum unless it was in a mix I bought. I just use Knox gelatin. -

Cook your rice with gluten free chicken broth instead of water. Make spanish rice with small can of tomato paste, two cans of water, one cup of rice. Fry the uncooked rice and spices (salt, pepper, garlic, cumin, chili powder, oregano) in some oil. one the rice is browned add the tomato paste and water. Cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.

ARCHIVED New, Tried Alots Of Food And Fustrated
daphniela replied to kpatillo's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I don't think the meat at Taco Bell is gluten free. I could be wrong. For a quick meal there are rice noodle bowls bt Simply Asia that are gluten free. I have found them at Walgreens and CVS as well as regular grocery stores. Chef Boyardee makes a chicken and rice microwaveable bowl that is free of gluten ingredients. -
