  1. Thanks for the replies. I don't have any gastro symptoms associated with Celiac. All of my symptoms are neurological and its so frustrating. I was sick for months thinking I was going crazy. I had the following weird symptoms 1) Brain Fog- just felt weird all the time like I was on drugs 2) Ratchet Neck- When I move my head up and down my neck would...
  2. I have Ulcerative Colits and Celiac. My UC was so bad that I had my colon completely removed about 10 years ago. My symptoms were: anemia SEVERE stomach cramps Bloody stools (usually the most telling sign of UC) Explosive D Not fun stuff. I get along great despite not having a colon (I have what's called a internal J pouch) which is basically...
  3. Before discovering I had Celiac I found that my hair was brittle and rough. Turns out I was not absorbing iron. My ferritin levels were at 7 when optimal range should be 70. I was not anemic as my crit and other levels were all ok. I've done some research and it turns out that low ferritin levels are a little know cause of hair loss. I went on iron supplements...
  4. I got the "I'm starving" feeling too. I thought I was hypoglycemic or something. Nothing filled me up I was always hungry.

    ARCHIVED Down

Sorry you are having so many issues. Some things to check for...have you had your ferritin levels checked? Celiac can cause all sorts of malabsorbtion issues and my ferritin levels were really low and it was causing all sorts of weird issues. Especially fatigue and it can cause hair loss. Your ferritin levels should be around 70 even though the normal...
  6. I know a lot of you are allergic to other foods and I'm wondering if the main symptoms of those foods are gastro issues or something else?
  7. I think the reason it's getting more attention is because H1N1 kills kids and teenagers and young adults because it's a new strain and they can't fight it off as well as the older population who has been exposed to more strains in their lifetime. This is the first time in a long time that it has been fatal for kids and teenagers who were perfectly healthy...
  8. I also started taking a gluten free vitamin called Bio-35 . You can get a no obligation 14 day supply at no cost. I think it's a pretty good vitamin and has improved my energy levels. Open Original Shared Link Click on the free sample to get a 14 day supply.
  9. Is this more common in women than in men or does it not matter? Also what nutrient test should I ask for? I have checked B12 and Folate both of which were fine but I dont think anything else has been checked.
  10. Depends on what kind of issues you have. I had a grumbly/rumbly stomach and a lot of gas. These problems resolved when I started taking PB8. I take two capsules in the morning and two before bed which is twice the daily ammount on the bottle. I also find I'm a lot more regular. I have been taking antibiotics for months so I think it helped me more than...
  11. I tried Align and it didn't work for me but it did work for my Mom who also has Celiac. If it doesn't work just try another one. You should notice a difference in about a week. I noticed a difference with PB8 in 2 days.
  12. Anybody else try this stuff? It's expensive and it's a MLM type product which I guess doesn't necessarily make it bad.....
  13. I've been on Cipro for 6 months now and I'm starting to believe I may have intestinal yeast issues. I'm going to start taking Candex and I've already seen improvements with the probiotic PB8 . It's the first probiotic that has worked for me. Try those two things and let us know how you feel and I'll do the same.
  14. This is very interesting. I've been on Cipro for damn near 6 months now. I've been gluten free since June and I'm still not feeling better. I have a lot neuro issues too. The worst thing for me is the anxiety and the brain fog. I actually have some candex sitting on my desk at work because I thought I had yeast problems before I was diagnosed with Celiac...
  15. Try a probiotic. They can really really help once you find the right one. For me PB8 works the best. It's cheap as well which is nice. I had to try 2 or 3 different probiotics before I found the right one for me but it did make a big difference.
  16. Just a note on probiotics. They really do work. The best one for me is call PB8 . Its cheap and has really helped me. I've also tried Align and VSL # 3 both of which didn't work very well for me. I would try PB8 first and if it doesn't work try some others. Pb8 doesn't have to be refrigerated which is nice and I take twice the recommended amount but start...
  17. What are the symptoms of thinning bones if any?
  18. Anyone else sensitive to light at night? Car headlights and street lamps produce a scattering effect when looking at them. It's like there are a bunch of light rays projecting from the light source. It is really annoying. My night vision seems to be ok but these light rays are buggin me. Also, bright halogens, stadium lights (at college football games...
  19. Thanks, my Ferritin was 30. I just had it checked about a week ago. I'm going to take iron pills and get it up more. One thing I added that has helped is a good multi vitamin and a probiotic. I started taking PB8 and its the best probiotic I've tried and I've tried several. The others didn't do a thing but PB8 does wonders for me. I don't have a colon...
  20. Trio bars are really good. They have seeds, nuts and fruit in them . All organic and tasty. You can get them at Costco for a decent price.
  21. I have some neurological symptoms that I believe are caused by Celiac but I can't find a doctor who will listen to me. They all seem to think Celiac will only present itself with stomach issues. One second of research will show otherwise so I need a new doctor.
  22. Hey everyone I was diagnosed back in June and have been Gluten Free since. I'm not your typical celiac has I do not have a colon either. I had Ulcerative Colitis and had my colon removed about 10 years ago. It took about 8 months to get the diagnosis . All my symptoms were not the typical symptoms but were mostly neurological. Anyway before my celiac...
  23. I think Trix may have been gluten free for a while but Kix hasn't . I don't think they are marking them Gluten free yet because there are still two different varietys floating around. Just check the label and if no wheat or oats are listed it's gluten free.
  24. Yeah, I had a big bowl of Trix today. It was great. Be sure to check the label to make sure you are getting the new version of the cereal.
  25. I called General Mills this morning to confirm that Kix and Trix cereal is gluten free and they told me it is but they still have boxes out there that are not. They said if there is no mention of wheat or oats products on the box then they are gluten free. Neither box of Trix or Kix that I looked at had gluten in them. Also they offered to send me out...
