ARCHIVED Low Carb Diet With Celiac
beelzebubble replied to enigma's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
hey all, a question... i started on the south beach diet about 6 weeks ago. i have yet to lose a pound. is there any way i might be fouling it up for myself? i usually have an atkins bar for breakfast (for the fiber), leftover meat and salad for lunch, and meat, veggies and a salad for dinner. everything is of course home made . i have yet to move... -

ARCHIVED Genetically Modified Food
beelzebubble posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
i'm terrified that they're going to start adding gluten to non-gluten containing grains in an effort to make them more useable for breads. i don't know. just thought i'd ask. -
ARCHIVED "you Might Be A Celiac If....."
beelzebubble replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
you may be a celiac if: when you go on vacation, you have two bags...one for your clothes and one for your food. the one for your food is bigger. seeing the words "gluten free" on a mainstream item has ever caused you to dance a jig in the middle of the canned food aisle in the grocery store. and you are not in the least embarrassed by that. you... -
ARCHIVED On A Daily Basis Do You Run A Below Normal Body Te
beelzebubble replied to angel-jd1's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
my temp used to be consistently 98.8. but now, especially early in the morning, i can have a temp as low as 96.5. this is a recent thing for me, within the last year or two. i don't have any idea why, either. -
whoa. this post hit me like a load of bricks. i've been wondering why i only have half moons on my thumbs. i seem to remember having half moons on my fingers at some point . when you said lines on your fingernails, do you mean raised ridges that follow the growth of the nail? i developed those a couple of years ago. hmmm...what else can you tell...

i've had really good luck with bionaturae, to me it tastes just like the real thing. they are an italian company that makes both semolina and gluten free pastas. i ordered mine online. i've also found that the best pasta for macaroni is plain rice noodle macaroni. you can get these at asian food stores.

i get cramps in my arches when my thyroid medication is insufficient. it usually happens at night, while i'm asleep. i used to get them all the time before they knew i was hypothyroid. have you had your thyroid checked?

ARCHIVED Irritablity
beelzebubble replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
i have found that a b complex vitamin helps me immensely. if i miss a couple of days, i really feel it. i get really moody. you could try a good b complex and see if that helps. i've had good luck with the costco vitamins-kirkland signature. they say whether they are gluten free. -

hi all, i've been struggling with pcos, stomach problems (i now know as celiac disease), and thyroid disease for years now, and i was wondering if any of you girls would like to chat about them? i know there are quite a few girls here with both celiac disease and pcos. i was hoping we could compare stories and maybe help each other with treatments and...

ARCHIVED Gluten-free A Restaurant Cook's Perspective
beelzebubble replied to ConcernedCook's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
concernedcook, you rock my little gluten free world. seriously. if you are trying to figure out ways to make certain dishes gluten free, i bet you could get a celiac support group to come in and help you out. i know that the gluten intolerance group in seattle has been working with some restaurants to help them prepare gluten free menus. the outback steakhouse... -
ARCHIVED Moving To San Jose/cupertino Area
beelzebubble posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
hi all, my hubby got a new job in cupertino, cali. we'll be moving to the area within the next three weeks. i was wondering if someone could give me a heads up as to stores that i can shop at there. i rely a lot on my neighborhood co-op at present and am a little nervous about trying to find gluten free stuff in a new city. also, it would be great... -
ARCHIVED Ice Cream Question?
beelzebubble replied to mela14's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
sorry to hear you're having so many problems, i know how that goes. anyway, about the eggs, you might want to try just eating the whites by themselves. or the yolks. i have a real problem with eggs too, but it's not the whites, just the yolks. it's much less frustrating if you can have one or the other, especially with baking. hope you feel better... -
nausea/vomiting was one of my symptoms. since going gluten-free it's gone, barring an accident. be aware that most doctors know very little about celiac. it's not touched on much in medical school from what i understand, and it's not the kind of thing that requires much in the way from doctors after diagnosis. i would do your own research. bubble

hiya mcdougall, you could try Open Original Shared Link. their tests start at around 100. i really hope this is the answer for you. i know how awful it is to feel so sick and not know what's wrong. i think we all do here. do get yourself some vitamins. i've been using the costco brand vitamins which list whether they are gluten free on the side of...

beelzebubble replied to beelzebubble's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
i made a discovery this morning. the hippy, all natural, non-sodium lauryl sulfate conditioner that i bought to help my ailing scalp has WHEAT PROTEIN in it (aka gluten). bugger. well, that might be it anyway. -

hihi, i was wondering if any of you have problems with your eyes? i seem to have constant redness in my eyes, and frequently i will have a yellowy/green discharge. once every couple of months, i will get a pink eye type infection that goes away after a couple of days. does this sound at all familiar to anyone? bubble

beelzebubble replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
